Oh I see, the promethean soul Halsey examined had memories of New Phoenix because it lived in New Phoenix. At the end of Halo 4, the Didact composes all of New Phoenix, in other words, converts the Humans there from human to Promethean Knights. It makes sense now.
@@JDario13 As far as I'm aware, the Composer sends all composed souls to a digital realm called the 'Domain'. This is how the Didact and Cortana survived Halo 4, and how the Knights are created. Humans are simply moved from the Domain into Prometheans. It's likely that the Knights we face in the final level of Halo 4 are the scientists we were saving in the previous level.
These Spartan ops cutscenes were badass, cmon. Admit it. Lol
They're gay
'Crimson team' is just me when i play it
3:34 your parents reading your history
I love how most of this is easily explained in the campaign
finally found it .. Thorne's voice actor is Ethan Peck - Spock from the latest Star Trek TV show. knew i recognized that voice from somewhere. was driving me mad not being able to find it.
Thorne has the makings of a great spartan!
I also like Thorne. His convo with Halsey suggests he's the most "spartan" of the team, and he displays that with his seriousness and ability (he hijacks a banshee!). And let us not forget that not all Spartan-IVs act like beefed up marines. Crimson team is pretty badass I think. They get their shit done like Spartans would. So you could say that they're/we're pretty "spartan"
I like how these Spartan IV's actually have a personality. Master Chief was always so serious and I never really saw much of a sense of humor (granted he's still a total badass). I guess I'm saying the IV's have a more "human" aspect to them. As Lasky was explaining in the end of the campaign that he questioned the Chief on why he thought the "soldiers" and "humanity" were two different things. They're not! Soldiers are humans and they have unique personalities no matter what kind of soldier.
Exactly
The events of spartan ops take place 6 months after the events of the campaign of halo 4, the scientist that you saw composed in the mission composer was professor Sandra Tillson, not Catherine Halsey
I love this series, but I hate how weak the Covenant is portrayed. I know that this is the Remnant and all, but I still feel like they should have been more powerful.
Being remnants, they don't have access to the tech that made them supreme during the Human-Covenant War, and since humanity now has Infinity which is stronger then a Covenant Super Carrier Cruiser and the Spartan-IVs which are just as strong as Spartan-IIs, they are pretty much rightfully less then equal to humanity now by themselves. They are able to currently maintain their stance against humanity due to genius tactical thinking and having the Prometheans, superior warriors with stronger weapons, fight along side them.
Badass Elite I think this Covenant is meant to be like Al Qaeda or ISIS - poorly equipped, but fanatical.
@MATTHEW ROGERS
Dude, it's officially stated that the Spartan-IVs are as strong as the IIs, the procedure that augments the IV's bodies enhances them to be stronger than the average human, but not enough to be as strong as the IIs on their own, but once they put on the Gen 2 Mjolnir armor it bridges the gap and makes up the difference to put Spartan-IVs on the same level as Spartan-IIs. Literally the only difference between the IVs and the IIs is that the latter had psychological training to be "proper" Spartans given they were trained as kids.
I heard the mass effect reaper noise there coming where's shepherd
Longer cutscenes in Spartan ops than halo 5
halo waypoint will upload the cinematic on their website as well as their youtube channel. igngameplay (and others) have both the cinematics and gameplay of the actually chapters of episodes 1-5, and 6 when it comes out
he really should come back, he lived the explosion of the first halo, he came back in the second
"It doesn't matter how it looks" EXACTLY. I agree, and it feels exactly like a good halo game. It feels like Halo 3.
"Memento Mori" is Latin for: "remember you will die"
It was the motto of prufrock preparatory school In "A series of unfortunate events" by Lemony Snicket
Spartan II's are better.
+Covenant Elite no shit sherlock
That's the point of Spartan 4s, they're cheaper to make
Elites used to be better
The guy in the Recon is Madson,The guy in the Soldier armor is DeMarco, and the guy in the Operator armor is Hoya(might have spelled Hoya wrong).
this will answer some questions: there will be no EP 6 until some time in January. 343 is taking a mid-season break along with the release of the Crimson map pack Monday
Unas Annus
Chief and Cortana's survival are both explained in Halo: The Fall of Reach. It also ruins the canon in several other ways. They got the date of Reach's fall wrong. In TFR Reach falls on August 30th, in H:R it falls on the 24th of July.
Exactly after this clip...
Master Chief drops from the sky and shows that marine how to fight. LIKE A SPARTAN!
Actually they're putting Spartan Ops on hold for a little while to do the "Infinity Challenge." Spartan Ops should pick back up in late January. Type in "More Console Infinity Challenge" for more info.
Yes this takes place just a few weeks (or months) after halo 4.
and no those weren't cortana's memories it was some persons memories in new phoenix (the city that got decomposed)
In case you didn't notice Master Chief isn't there. Still if he read her journal his opinion of her might change. Also if he read his file as well.
The Sacred Band was an elite group of Carthaginians who were very well trained warriors. Hannibal Barca's Sacred Band troops fought with him for his whole military campaign into Italy. The reason the Roman Legion was so successful was it's use of maniple tactics and heavy infantry. All their artillery and cavalry was usually auxillary from the provinces and such not true "Legionnaries".
George wasn't integrated into the Spartan III program (talk about downgrades) he was integrated into Noble team as the only Spartan II in the group. As for Spartan Is joining the Spartan II program, the Spartan Is didn't have the special genetics required for augmentation, and they were too old. Spartan IIs started off their training at 6, I don't know how old Johnson is, but he's much older than 6.
Whats funny is that the story is more involved with the Blues (majestic team in Spartan ops) and the Reds (Crimson team) does all the ass kicking just like the series
Considering that Jul 'Mdama is a Shipmaster (sort of an equivalent to a Captain of a human ship), and that his armour colour is blue, just like that of Gek’s, I don’t think Gek is actually a Sangheili Minor. Considering he suffered a wound which blinded his left eye, he probably held a decently high rank in the Covenant before or after its collapse. If this is so, he probably is not on the front lines of the war, which would explain why you don’t see him fighting in battle.
there is no discontinuity in the plot, the lore is prefect, if you cant follow, read the books, it will make sense then
I'd like to add that while the SPARTAN IV's were made to copy the SPARTAN II's,, the SPARTAN III's encountered in Reach were made as low budget versions of SPARTAN II's. Meaning they were created to be as effective as SPARTAN II's, but they weren't built to be long lasting. They were used on essentially suicide missions, to complete vital objectives that were too costly to attempt with conventional forces. As such, many III's weren't given MJOLNIR armor, and instead had to rely on SPI armor.
Actually they did commit to doing at least 5 seasons, 10 episodes each, 5 missions each, for a total of 250 missions =)
@Azwarrior94 correction here. My references to the Composer were aimed at the Didact's ship as a whole which is named the Mantle's Approach.
The Didact may not be dead, remember in the terminal video he said the composer doesn't work on him? MC "killed" him by sticking a grenade to him and knocking him into the composer beam, and then somehow all the composed humans made there way to requiem, so we don't know for sure what happened to the Didact when he fell into the beam...
Halsey loved the spartan 2s, she regretted using children like she did but it was the only way to complete the work issued by ONI, there were only spartan 2s when the covenant war started, and once the spartan 2s started to die out spartan 3s were issued by augmenting older subjects, around 16/17 mark (or somewhere in the teens) they were issued just to bulk up the spartan force, their armour was not as strong as the spartan 2s but it was still high tech, the reason halsey doesn't like other sp
This episode has lag or a delay at 1:22. Hope 343 get that fixed on MCC.
but if you read saw the terminal videos, Didact's messed up body was a result of him trying to be immune to flood infection, instead he got an immunity to the composer
I can't wait to see what the rest of the Season will be like!!
the elites are part of the storm covenant, not the traditional covenant. this is shown through their different armor. Halsey is infamous throughout the UNSC for her actions. A is answered in Halo: Glasslands.
You can play it alone you just need to be hooked up the the halo 4 servers (eg. be connected to xbl).
Actually Spark is still alive, in the book Halo: Primordium (which takes place after Halo: 3 in the Ark debris field) Spark is speaking the whole time because they found a fragment of him floating in space that was still active and functioning and the book ends with Spark transferring his memories to the ships computers and using the ship as his new body... Also, Kelly wouldn't have gone with Halsey willingly, a Spartan would never abandon a mission.
What happened to Chief Mendez from the books. He was ruthless enough to push the original Spartan trainees to the limit and cared enough about them to know what those individual limits were. The Spartan-II's held him in very high regard.
I may be wrong but it is because the people in charge back then when the Spartan program started and the people in charge after the war was different, and the people after decided that what Halsey did was a war crime, considering that she planned the whole thing.
For the second question, i have yet to read the Thursday War, so I am not sure. Sorry.
THANK YOU, dear lord, for at least having ONE person here who knows what I've been trying to tell them!!! You're the ONLY person I've seen on here who actually knows basic knowledge of Halo... and you're the ONLY one who's actually said Halo info that everyone should understand right off the bat... but seriously, why do people gotta be stupid? We Halo fans gotta stick together. :3
spartan 2`s were usually lonewolves spartan 3`s were used for suicide missions. and spartan 4`s work in groups similar to spartan 3`s..
True although you have to remember (the opening cut scene for Halo 4 is right in stating) that the Spartans were created to quash human rebellions. Essentially super soldiers designed to be efficient human killing machines. The fact they existed when the Covenant attacked is quite fortuitous, but is isn't like they were initially bred to kill aliens here. The question then becomes should we forget the atrocities she committed before the Covenant war because of the outcome? I say yes!
well, she found out about them on reach, not after, during the game when Noble team visits her in her lab that was the first time that she had seen S IIIs...she kept her surprise hidden pretty well.
They never said that. There is currently only 1 season with 10 episodes. And if Season 1 does well they consider the 2nd.
another theory. Promethean knights are made from digitized humans created by the composer. So that figure probably was The A.I form of that human how she was before she got digitized.
Mostly right, but I think the alterations are the same (Ackerson mentions in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx that UNSC medical science has advanced to a point where adults can survive the alterations with significantly lower risk). The mental preparedness of the S-IVs, however, is inferior. All of them were recruited/volunteered from other branches of the military. The S-IIs were trained from age 6. They were already outsmarting seasoned Marine companies by 12.
The librarian wasn't at new phoenix, nor is she human. If you had watched the later episodes, she was stored in some forerunner complex.
I think its good that the next episode is coming out in january becuse then they will have time to make new locations and maybe longer cinematics :)
search it on halopedia or just the web in general. SPARTAN-I Program was ORION program
I believe she was talking to the scientist on the other end (notice the datapad and how he immediately shuts up about his success)? Now she may actually be communicating with the covenant, I don't know. Honestly, if she was, it was most likely in humanity's best interest. When has Halsey ever done anything that wasn't for the greater good? It may be wrong or immoral, but what she does is ultimately always what's been needed.
Still on Earth this takes place 6 months after the story of Halo 4, the UNSC probably didn't want to send him out so soon after all the other stuff he'd been through, just my guess
Cortana was not made from forerunner technology. She was an AI made from a flash clone of Dr, Halsey's brain, her AI matrix despite achieving Metastability, was destroyed when Mantles Approach and the Composer were destroyed as she resided within them.
dont forget that it disable most of the forerunner modifications to him
I like how there are only 5 visor colors in Reach because in Reach anyone can get them. On the other hand, in Halo 4 we have to go thru a bunch of shit to get the good ones.
It's not Thornes' memories, it's memories from those who died in New Phoenix where he happened to grow up. That's why he recognized it, not because they were his.
Normally he would be but after Operation: KALEIDOSCOPE, almost all of the S-Is began showing mental/physical side-effects as a result of their augmentations. Thus the SPARTAN-I Program/Project ORION was deactivated and the soldiers that suffered from the side-effects were discharged while the ones that did not were seeded back into their original military branches. Hope this helped :)
at least someone has an idea whats going on, if i see spartan 1 program again im gonna scream, its an unoffical dubbing as halsey wanted to give the orion project some credit, its refreshing to see someone else know whats going on
I am just putting a question out there. if the Didact is seemingly dead than who is controlling the Promethens and why are they still sided with the covise?
Also don't forget he is assisting them in the hunt for the Librarian. and it seemed like many of the people on Inifinity knew that (at least the spartans and the scientists) the Chief found the Librarian AI and that she helped him. Thus Glassman may know that he is helping to revive a Forerunner that love humans, so what damage could be done by reviving her? Though helping the enemy seems like treason, he is helping the enemy revive the best ally to humanity in the galaxy.
in the books. Primordium I think it's called. Turns out that the light bulb that blasted Sarge was actually one of the ancient humans a little bit after the human-forerunner war a looong time before the entire halo arc started.
Spark probably just beamed his data to a back up Monitor shell. That and he is a composed human which makes him kind of immortal. And some how I doubt Cortana survived the nuke going off. As she states in the ending, what's left of her was on the Composer which was kind of vaporized in the nuclear explosion. That and also, what was left, and this is a guess on my part, where simply the rampant personalities she split off which probably had next to no change of survival on their own outside of a
My guess is they'll do one every winter leading into the next game (So 2 more maybe?).. It'd be a pretty interesting way to bridge the development time and stories.
I agree. I hope he comes back also. That would be badass.
@Daniel Martin Don't forget that these new guys have less experience than Spartan-II's. Remember Reach?
It's true the UNSC was fighting a two front battle. The Insurrectionists threatened an interstellar war that would have been something akin to the clone wars from star wars, just more terrorist like. The covenant invasion obviously put down a lot of the resistance (most disgruntled planets where the ones that were glassed) but there was still a lot of insurrectionists out there.
Regarding the elites, we don't know if Halsey herself knew she was communicating with elites or forerunners.
ya, i dont think so, the shape of the woman was just some random woman who was composed in new phoenix, as the composer affectes organisims not A.I, it has to be a person from new phoenix, hence all the pictures of new phoenix etc......
True, they don't have as much experience but they aren't raw recruits either. They all served in other branches of the UNSC.
The New Spartan Armor is actually featured in a video game called Mercenaries Online
he was lost in space for years (end halo3) in the end of Halo 4 he returned back to earth
Probably meeting up with the remaining Spartans and talking about what to do next.
I like how I can't find any youtube reviews of the last couple episodes, I'm not surprised why.
As of now it's unknown. 343 has stated that they'd be willing to do more seasons if the first season was a success with the fans. Season 2 will most likely happen, but nothing's confirmed so far.
Still, even if the Spartan-IV's are all volunteers the selection process would most likely be very stringent. A likely scenario is that a Spartan candidate would be chosen from the very top of their boot camp or Advanced Infantry Training group.
S2 taken as kids and trained up from then
not clear on S3`s
S4 taken from military/special forces and given upgrade. i forget details right now
Indeed, sacrifices must be made for the greater good, this has happened many times in history over and over.
343 should make video using CGI that showcases the different armors like a spartan with wetwork or venator armor trying to snipe something or a spartan with EOD trying to diffuse a bomb or something, idk that'd be cool.
Indeed, the composer, ironically enough, first decomposes the target (i.e. humans) and then uses the raw materials gained from them to construct prometheans. One of the terminals mentions it something like that.
Spartan-IIIs were primarily composed of orphaned children between the ages of 4 and 6 from glassed colonies with nowhere to go.
oh okay..cool bro. Thanks for clearing that up. Another thing you might can help me clear up. What is up with all the rouge Elites man? Well that is what I got from them. It seems they are working on a different page than the last Arbiter. What do you think?
@Lawfish66 Have you read The Forerunner Saga. He may be an AI,but he is an AI made from the salvaged personality of a the mind of an ancient human. How is not specified but as the composer was available when this happened I've come to the conclusion that that was probably used.
Because the newer Spartans actually have personality and perceive backtalk as a viable solution to orders. They are all mostly volunteers thats why they are less hardy, not as tough, smart or ruthless as the Chief and those before him.
They're memories of one of the poor sods who was in New Phoenix when the Didact fired the Composer at the city at the end of Halo 4. Cortana didn't interact with the Composer, or "fuse" with the Didact's armour or "save" herself into the Domain or magically "recover" from Rampancy. If anything she speeded up the process when she split herself up and she was killed when the Didact's ship was destroyed by a 30 MEGATON NUCLEAR WEAPON. Also to top it off, her chip was destroyed. Dead as dead can be.
You can see a female silhouette (Cortana?) in the middle of the yellow EMP explosion at 1:53 - 1:55
We don't know that. He might, or he might hate her now. Only way to find out is to see them meet.
She does regret it. Read "The Fall Of Reach" She doesn't treat them like crap either. She just has an attitude, you can see it even in Cortana. The sarcasm, the need to know everything, can't take losing. Plus, the Spartan-ll's saw Halsey as some sort of mother or guardian. The Chief had more respect for her than some people in his chain of command.
That and Spartan IV's don't go through any particular training like the II or III's did. As I said before; SPARTAN is now a military branch, no longer a project though they still call it SPARTAN IV project.
Actually two spartan 2's (including master chief) survived along with the sniper guy spartan 3 from reach( forgot his name).
well it has been stated in all forms of halo fiction, that a spartan in Mjolnir armor is highly capable of taking down an elite, it has also been stated that humans are more intelligent than elites, so maybe lifelong trainng still doesnt cut it when fight spartan, also human weaponary (ground weapronary this is) has been stated to be more suited to the cause than covie wepaonary, so there is another advantage right there, in my eyes it seems quite logical
Its pretty obvious that the humans who died on Requim were turned to Promethians. Its not just ancient humans, but any human who died can be resurrected into a Promethian. So the humans from Infinity who died during Halo 4 campaign would have been turned. That will come to light in later episodes i'd wager.
I understand the possibility of travelling forward in time. You just need to travel faster than the space around you.
But travelling backwards in time is beyond our understanding of physics.
It's possible, but it's most likely from a human who was composed into one of the Promethean Knights. Somehow his memories entered the Artifact.
Even though spartans IV don't have extensive training such as II's and III's, their physical enhancements still make them spartans.
Episode six won't be out til January. :(
episode 6 should be out on the 10th december later on today/tomorrow depending where you are then there will be a break until january
no I mean the first engagement in the spartan ops. The black guy with the shotgun got pawned in close quarter engagement in about 1 second.
