Cisco Ferreira (‪@ciscoadvent‬) nació en 1970 en Boa Nova, situado en la isla de Madeira (Portugal). Su familia se mudó a Londres 5 años más tarde. Estudió Ingeniería de Sonido en Paddington College (1986), al oeste de Londres. Posteriormente, consiguió trabajo como asistente en los estudios de grabación "ZOLOU" y "WALL". Tras abandonar la escuela, cursó Ingeniería de Sonido en Paddington College (ahora City of Westminster College) y muchos de sus amigos buscaron experiencia laboral. Uno de ellos logró trabajar durante una de las giras del conocido grupo "Bananarama" y otro, Simon, obtuvo empleo en la empresa de masterización londinense "Exchange", desempeñando labores de aprendiz de YTS. Realmente fue una combinación de personas, Jim Hawkins de Zolou Studios y más tarde John Payne (el cantante del grupo de rock Asia) y Matt Dangerfield, quienes fundaron "The Wall".
En ese período fue cuando Cisco realmente comenzó a aprender sobre sonido y producción. Sus primeras sesiones de grabación como ingeniero fueron en bandas de rock e "Inde". Los propietarios del estudio (Matt Dangerfield y John Payne) estaban en bandas de rock exitosas.
Otros grupos para los que Cisco hizo sesiones fueron: P.I.L. (John Lydon - sex pistols) - Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). Luego, grupos de Pop, Dance, Soul y reggae como: Wild Bunch (Nelly hopper & Massive Attack) - Marco Pirroni (Adam & the ants) - Maxi Priest - Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie) - Loose Ends - Cheryl Lynn…
En 1987 empezó a frecuentar discotecas y a involucrarse en el fenómeno musical "Acid House", el cual no paraba de extenderse en la escena underground de Londres, culminando con el famoso "Summer of Love" en 1988, la época dorada del género.
Por aquel entonces, un sello discográfico llamado "Jack Trax", precursor en lanzamientos Acid House, House y Techno en el Reino Unido, se trasladó de lugar y comenzó a usar el mismo estudio para las sesiones de grabación (con Cisco como ingeniero), trabajando con Fingers. Inc, Adonis, Marshall Jefferson y Derrick May. Sacó su primer disco en 1988, en Ferrari Records (R&S). Luego, más tarde, el EP "Cisco Ferreira" en Fragile Records.
Su primera gran oportunidad llegó en 1994, cuando Internal Records contrató a él y a su compañero londinense Colin McBean (también conocido como Mr. G) para ayudar a coproducir un grupo llamado Salt Tank. Pronto siguió un contrato discográfico con Internal/FFRR, comprometiendo a The Advent con 12 EP y 3 álbumes.

London based Cisco Ferreira aka ‘The Advent’ is one of those people that can be described as many things: a musician, pioneer, sound designer, steady force and most definitely a ‘persistent m*therf*cker’. Most well known for his interpretation of full throttle Techno - he’s consistently rocked dance floors the world over since the mid 90s. His story is very much one of humble beginnings, having found his feet and faith in music after discovering the sound of Acid House in the clubs he frequented during the 80s as a youngster.
Originally from Boa Nova (Madeira), a small rocky outcrop in the Atlantic Ocean, after the Portuguese Revolution of 25th April in 1974, like many - his family decided their future lay elsewhere and moved to London. A far cry from sunny island life and being surrounded by the ocean, an endless horizon, ships setting sail and amazing sun sets. Cisco soon found himself having to get used to the cold and grey climes of the UK where the kids on the street were pretty rude. Having to adjust pretty quickly, it was only later on in his teens that the world of Hip Hop culture, Graffiti and Breakdancing gave him a new sense of place. With the boom of Acid House culture that followed not long after and regular visits to the now legendary dance floors of Rage, Click Street, Wag Club and Lost. A career in making music called, and three decades later, he’s still going strong having stayed completely true to his roots.
