Ram is a European owned company which is part of Fiat.
If you know how bad FIat is then understanding why Ram isnt as good anymore is easy.

I love winter driving too. Didn't get enough snow last year, hope we get more this year.
These are very reliable trucks with the 5.0, I currently have 125k miles on my 2013. Only problem was a water pump at 110k.
2012 FX4 5.0, currently at 119,000. Not one issue so far. Thing is running amazingly. Oil even comes out brown at 7500 miles. Love this truck
Ivan Lazanja is the ecoboost MUCH less reliable?
ecoboost have better gas milage, but 5.0 better sound and in my opinion better torque response

I am late to the party, but it should be noted that about two months after my initial comment, at 121,000 miles, my water pump exploded in a Police Station parking lot. That was quite the laugh. Otherwise, currently at 144,000 and not an issue since the water pump.
I have the 2012 F150 xlt 4x4 has a 175000 on it no problems an i pull alot of stuff with it forgot to say its the 5.0 motor not that v6 eco boost
I can't wait for January when we are most likely to start to get snow here in England, I daily a 535i, so you predominantly travel sideways when it starts snowing!

Sadly picked up my 2011 Fx4 5.0 at the end of winter. Only got to mess around with a light snow before spring hit. This video is making me some what look forward to winter?.. Only if it actually snows tho. lol... Nice vid :)
Yes, F150s are super fun to drive on snow, with some very good tires (preferably winters). Are very predictable and well balanced. But maybe to a certain extent all 4x4's are fun to drive on snow
Have a white 2013 f150 5.0 Texas edition. Had it since freshmen year of high school back in 2017. Got 131000 miles runs perfect.
I am an old guy from nortywest Montana, a few sand bags in the back will give you more control and the sand can be handy on ice
That takes balls to drive an F150 that fast in unplowed snow with 2wd. Ford trucks just don't like snow even with winter tires, and stability on.
They're very Lightweight in the rear even for a truck. Combine a long wheelbase, and the stock suspension is too stiff. You hit a small bump it unsettles, and goes spinning. It will catch itself, and straighten out but if you're in traffic you will hit something. I had a 2010 crew cab. These late models might have better balance.
Ironically my Archaic 1998 2wd Jeep Cherokee which I still own takes the powder like a coke head on payday. I run Goodyear duratracs.

This is why smart people put weight in the back of their trucks during the winter - be that a few sandbags, some bricks/blocks, or whatever else they might find. It's a rear wheel drive platform with almost no weight over the back (pretty much regardless of the brand or model of pickup truck), and 4WD doesn't overrule the laws of physics.

Great trucks!! I'm 18 and got a 2011 F150 5.0 I bought for 7k as a sophomore in Highschool. I bought it with 142k miles and I just hit 175k today. Great truck man. The 5.0 is quick and bulletproof.!
@GabeBarelyUploads you can get a super cab or if you get lucky a crew cab 2011 for around 9-11k

@Joey K, I started working summers and Saturdays at 15 cleaning out stables and feeding horses. I finished school and learned how to do concrete construction. 12th Gens are getting more affordable now days lol

Leuff - pretty often. I mountain bike 3-5 times per week. Sometimes it's family trips which means 3 bikes plus a trailer for my 2 year old. On weekends it's sometimes used for yard work or house work or furniture.
I only drive the truck about 5,000 miles per year but it is useful when I need it!
I like a truck like that when I get my license 😆

I believe it was a radar detection system. Sounds similar to the Passport I had at one point.

That's called all-season tires.
KO and KO2 tires are also winter rated, most all season tires are not.
