      mj averaged 36-6-5 careers averages.....in a physical, Big man era..... People acting like mj couldn't pass or rebound all he could do is score... In a league today we're Russell Westbrook/James harden averaging double digits assists and rebounds...to say mj wouldn't, so LeBron's career averages of 27-7-7 ain't as impressive as mj's 30-6-5

      Definitely, Skip really tried to discredit his achievement. To be so durable to never had a major injury, let alone a minor injury like tendinitis, or sprained ankle playing the way he plays has just never been seen. Honestly the way Lebron’s career is going he can possibly end up with 38k points 10k reb 10k assists. End up as the all time points leader, though he won’t have the 6 rings to show, he has 3 rings and that’s more rings than many legends and hof’ers have. I’m a Lebron fan but seriously we can’t discredit any achievements by anybody. Kobe averaging 35ppg one season, Westbrooks triple dub season, Curry’s unanimous Mvp season, once these guys retire we’ll really miss seeing them.

    • @cooleyarchives
      @cooleyarchives 4 роки тому +3

      @Erik Lerström Im really starting to think its a name for this condition for that type of denial and thinking. Humans naturally defy logic. Everyone thinks their era was better than the one after meanwhile Evolution proves things evolve better no matter what we feel. People dont tend to grasp that with Sports.

    • @cooleyarchives
      @cooleyarchives 4 роки тому

      @Erik Lerström I am speaking on the evolution of the human body from a scientific approach, so yes that is how it works. The athlete of today is more athletic, faster, and stronger than that of the 80's. That is simple science. " hiding like a coward, throwing others under the bus, lying and stealing" are not biology factors. I am speaking on specifically the physical human body, not eternal mental decisions.

    • @cooleyarchives
      @cooleyarchives 4 роки тому +1

      @Erik Lerström Again, the point still remains true. Humans evolve both mentally and physically better with each generation and will continue to do so. So saying that the human athlete was better in 80's than that of now is false. Human Evolution both mentally and physically didnt stop and hit its peak in the 80's. The human athlete of today is both physically and mentally better than that of the 80's.

This is how it should be and that’s fuel or catalyst to do more. Skip Bayless needs to stop being a hater of great talent guy. With his character and talent, I have never seen or read about an athlete like LJ with that kind of moral. They don’t teach that morals, he is just a wonderful Blessing from God to the world.

    (1) LeBron said it properly: comparison is not applicable. Each one has his own glory, each one in his own time. (2) LeBron is totally entitled to rejoice, as he is the hardest worker this business has ever seen. Talent and physique would not have taken him that far without his enormous dedication to his industry. (3) This being said, of course LeBron certainly aspires to be knighted GOAT! If he succeeds in his endeavor, good for him! Congratulations, he deserves it for sure! If history considers otherwise, at least he will have the numbers., and depending on the parameters, nobody will deny him the top. (4) GOAT is not about numbers solely, though, and that's where the struggle lies. I saw Michael, and I see LeBron. As time passes, LeBron is getting better and better in all areas, but still I prefer Michael over him. This is a matter of preferences, so as one person might prefer Van Gogh over Da Vinci, the same goes for these two masters of the beautiful art of basketball.

    • @Benzene21

    At this point I’m done with arguing who the greatest of all time is for the sport of basketball. There is no definitive answer bc there are so many different eras of the sport and so many factors that go into who the greatest is. I believe that we should just look for who was the greatest for their era. Let’s go by decade.
    1960s: Bill Russel
    1970s: Kareem
    1980s: Magic Johnson
    1990s: Michael Jordan
    2000s: this one is tough so I have 3, shaq, Duncan, and Kobe
    2010s: Lebron James
    This is really the only way to look at it. We can’t have all these players together in their primes to see who is better. That’s why you can only go by the era in which they played.

    When you look outside the rings, Lebron is the GOAT in every way possible. If we look at who has the most rings then Bill Russell has 11, even Robert Horry has 7. Lebron is better all around, stronger, athletic, more versatile, better basketball iq, more durable, better passer, playmaker. Jordan is a better scorer though, and thats it.

    • @sergeistalin7916
      @sergeistalin7916 6 років тому +6

      TheLegendOfKoop And if you combine the greatness of their careers what happens? Lebron hugs the ball a lot and runs all the plays(that inflates numbers), I would say Jordan is a better rebounder than Lebron(He played on a big man era, now Curry can average 6 rebounds, What do you think a 6-8, 250 can do?), Jordan was a way better defender, Lebron is more versatile but that doesnt mean better, i mean he cant guard Shaq or Hakeem, he can guard mediocre bigmans, Lebron turns the ball over a lot, and all the stats are still close because Lebron doesnt have stats playing at 39 years, and all that playing on the weakest conference maybe of all time. And to all that you add his rings and achievements.

    Different players (completely), from body build, to play style. Different Eras but each dominated, personally I appreciate both for taking basketball to new heights. We all know objectivity sells ratings because there’s a ton for and against... for me there’s a few variables... Mike had a father, legendary Dean Smith, and prime Phil Jackson.. LeBron had......but in all he catapulted himself into the conversation.. plus bird, magic, and the mailman didn’t team up to take Jordan down.

    If he averages 22 points for 5 years playing only 75 games a year, he will pass kareem for 1st all time scoring.. its so easy for him to get #1 all time scoring! And HIS NOT EVEN A SCORER! Smh... bron needs to stop

      He’s not a great or versatile scorer like MJ, Kobe, or Durant.
      His strength and speed are crazy and he developed a jumpshot in the past 5 years.

      He is not even a scorer??? Uh, he averages 19 FGA per game for his career. He averages more shots per game for his career than kobe and durant! He IS a scorer and anyone how thinks otherwise is dumb.

      @AbuOsama29 6 років тому +1

      I know he’s a scorer. I said he wasn’t a great scorer or a versatile scorer.
      He gets his buckets with his physicality or his set jump shot.
      Compare that to Durant, MJ, or Kobe who can get consistent post up fadeaways, take you off the dribble, step backs, and have higher free throw percentages. They are more versatile. Those are the great scorers.
      Next time, actually watch basketball or learn to read.

    I remember the time before the 1992 finals where everyone was saying Drexler was a better shooter than Jordan, and before the series Jordan just said, "He is a better shooter than ma because I choose to be' and then the "Shrug" happened, in the 1991 finals he averaged 11 assists in that series, so when he wanted to and needed to he could do everything, dont just limit him to scoring

    LeBron is the GOAT

    Michael Jordan is the GREATEST basketball player EVER! LeBron James is the BEST basketball player EVER! There is a difference. Let me explain...
    Being the greatest in your field doesn't necessarily mean you're the best. Michael Jordan stood out WAY above his peers at a time when the NBA was still becoming a global sport. Much of how Michael Jordan is perceived today has a lot to do with how he was marketed. He was the focal point of the league. Today, the league has many other stars: Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, and James Harden to name a few. LeBron doesn't stand out among those players the way Jordan did in his era.
    Lebron James, however, is a better athlete, hands down. Look at his physique and the incredible moves he has made over the years. Jordan is not his equal in this regard. Jordan has more rings than LeBron, but so too does Robert Horry. In fact, Horry has seven rings, one more than Jordan. So rings can't logically be the primary measure of excellence because no one would place Horry's skill level over Jordan or LeBron. The teams that LeBron has been on would not have made it to the finals without him, so even though he lost many of those finals matches, just getting as far as he did speaks volumes about his skill level. He's been to the final 7 straight times, remember that!
    Look at it this way: Floyd Mayweather Jr. by most boxing experts is a far more skillful fighter than Muhammed Ali. However, Ali is a greater boxer in the eyes of most people. That's because he meant a whole lot more to the sport than Mayweather ever will-- and rightfully so.
    Greatness and best are not necessarily one and the same.
