In terms of prioritizing things on enrolment day, would it be best to first enrol in any electives and once that's sorted out, move on and do any swaps?
Very helpful video Jacky. You showed the searching process for enrollment (and why I can't use VSB). I am going into Year 1 Engineering. I have all my mandatory courses saying enrolled in Ramms. Do I still have to be adding those to the cart like you did for the CPS courses or is that different because you are in 4th year? So far I have added my liberal to the cart. Thank you!
Hello, today is the first day of enrollment for freshmen. I haven't enrolled in some courses yet it's freaking me out because there are some courses stated as dropped. I am very anxious now with the fear of not getting into those required classes. What should I do? Please help me.
This was very helpful, thanks! However, I’m still a bit confused about selecting electives. Ryerson has automatically enrolled me 5 courses. Does this mean I cannot take electives this semester?
hey, my enrolment day is aug 9th, i'm trying to use the vsb to plan it out some of them say full and no waitlist, is this going to change the day of, or should I come up and add multiple variations of my schedule into my shopping cart?
hey! this video was v insightful, but what is the course number? is it the 3 numbers or the 4 digit code??? super stressed it would be great if anyone could respond. it seems they changed how this system works in the recent years.
In my weekly schedule, I noticed that for some classes, once a class ends another one starts immediately. Should I swap the classes for a different time or should I leave them alone?
Hello! im a first year and i was wondering when do you get to see the times for your schedules to pre-plan before course selection like you did? or maybe im just confused. Any answer would be hepful!
first off, thanks a lot for this vid. i’m going into my first year and engineering and this helped me a lot. i had one question though. just recently i used VSB to add courses into my shopping cart. the actual enrolment is august 7th. is it fine if i did it through the VSB or should i remove them and search them like you did in the vid? please let me know. have a great day!
You can use VSB to plan your schedule, but on the actual enrolment date, VSB usually doesn't work due to high user traffic. It is recommended to use the actual portal and manually add courses into your shopping cart!
If I am auto enrolled in a 9:00am class and want to take a different course at that time, can I swap the auto one out to a new time and add the other course to the 9:00am spot at the same time? Or Do I swap then add later?
if your making a swap for example i want to change my GMS 200 time to another day with another prof. and i add that section to my shopping cart and see that it is closed/full do i just keep it in my cart and keep trying to swap on august 10? not so sure how that part works
Ya if it's closed, you have to keep it in your cart until it's open again. You can only swap when the status says open (with a green circle), hope that helps!
You will be automatically enrolled into your required courses as a first year. However if you want to change sections, you need to use the swap function as shown in the video.
thank you for the video! quick question.. a couple of the electives i wanna enroll in have like one seat left, so would it be okay for me to enroll into like 3 courses and drop 2 once i 100% get into the elective i want? orrrrrr idk I'm so stresssedd
Hey Jacky, awesome video man. I am an incoming first year and had a question regarding CHY 103. why are there two professors listed under the same course title and section? Does that mean both will be instructing me? Do I have to choose which one can instruct me specifically? Thank you.
Are we allowed to swap a course time with another one even if it has the closed symbol next to it on the enrollment date or do we have to pick one that says open?
I'm a first year for RTA Media Production and I have 4 required courses assigned and I can choose 1 liberal. Can I enrol in any extra courses without it costing extra? There was another class I was interested in taking.
Hey, I'm enrolled for some first-year courses in Public Health and I went on the VSB and I'm un-pinning the courses yet there are no other generated results. For ANY of my classes (1/1). All my classes are jam-packed with labs and lectures on Monday and Tuesday, whereas Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are empty. Any advice? Is this because my courses don't have any other times at all? I tried manually checking as well...nothing popped up as an alternative time.
at the bottom of my legend it also says: "Unfortunately, all of these scheduled results overlap the personal time when you do not want to have classes, but the first results have the least amount of overlap".
Hi I am taking biology at tmu. In tmu biology calendar It says that one course from the following options ( computer science or introductory programming for scientists).... As a first year student does they automatically enroll me in one of these or do I need to enroll by myself?
Hello Jacky, I have a question about fee. When do I need to pay fee for my actual course. I have already paid my $500 tuition deposit. I haven’t received any email regarding that
Excuse me, I did manage my courses through vsb, and added into the cart but some courses status are “closed”. Should I delete it and reselect those courses?
I want to swap 2 of my courses, after I swap one, can I swap the other right after? Or do I need to swap 1 course and then click “enroll” and then swap the other one
Hey bro I have a doubt like I want to swap my computer and math classes with different times so should I get it swapped manually on rams or should I swap it on vsb automatically please help!!
Bro please help me with the situation.... i am an international student, and i have paid my tuition fees. I want to enroll for the online class in ryerson university. I didnt get the visa yet but hopefully i am gonna get it within 10 to 15 days. So what is the procedure if i have to join online class without visa and what will be the reduction in cost if i am switching to virtual classes temporarily in this pandemic?. This video was best btw, it taught me every single thjng i needed to know about ryerson...
I’m a first year. If I’m happy with my schedule and I don’t have electives first semester do I still have to go through the enrollment shopping cart or just leave everything alone?
If you don't have any electives first semester and you're fine with the current schedule, then you're good to go! No need to go through enrollment cart!
Hey there! Thanks for the video, it was really helpful. I am a first year student, and I was enrolled in only 4 classes. Is that okay? Also, with my transfer credits, I was able to satisfy the requirements for 2 courses and 2 lower level liberal studies. Does that mean I do not need to take any electives this fall?
Hope this video helps you for Ryerson's course enrollment!
* Remember to not use VSB on enrollment day (it's gonna crash)! *
It’s literally the night before my course selection date and this video came in CLUTCHHH 😭😭😭
Fax lol
lmaoo this shit is giving me a headache
Thank you!
Mad respects bro u helped a lot of people out from making this vid ❤️❤️

Glad it helped! Appreciate the feedback!
I’m returning as a mature student so this has been incredibly helpful, thank you!
Glad it helped you!

Thanks appreciate it!!
In terms of prioritizing things on enrolment day, would it be best to first enrol in any electives and once that's sorted out, move on and do any swaps?
Yes if you want to get into an elective, do that first!
i hope this video gets a billion views.
Thanks!!

omg thanks so much, everything else was so confusing

Great video! Although, I have a question; do we have to enroll in courses for both semesters? Or just the first?
Just for Fall term for now!
This was very helpful, thanks! However, I’m still a bit confused about selecting electives. Ryerson has automatically enrolled me 5 courses. Does this mean I cannot take electives this semester?
Yes you can take electives this semester, people usually take 5-6 courses! Make sure to enroll in an elective on your enrollment day!
thanks!!!

Usually it consists of three letters (subject) and three numbers (course code) followed by three digits (section number)
Good video jaxky
Thanks!
In my weekly schedule, I noticed that for some classes, once a class ends another one starts immediately. Should I swap the classes for a different time or should I leave them alone?
That's fine, lectures usually start 10 minutes after the scheduled time!
Hello! im a first year and i was wondering when do you get to see the times for your schedules to pre-plan before course selection like you did? or maybe im just confused. Any answer would be hepful!
Not sure on exact dates, but maybe about one week in advance of your course enrolment date!

Can't do that at the same time, have to swap then add the other course
Bro thanks a ton this is so helpful!! The website is super confusing
No problem!
Thanks for this video bro
No worries!
year 2 i had to run this shit bacc
Off topic but how did you get your RAMSS to pop up in your window. Mine opens in a new window.

@@LyJacky11 appreciate it man
For first year student do I have to do any of that or am I automatically enrolled? Also how can I change the professor?
You will be automatically enrolled into your required courses as a first year. However if you want to change sections, you need to use the swap function as shown in the video.

You can as long as there's no conflict, however the tuition fee is only the same between 5 and 7 courses!
Hey Jacky, awesome video man. I am an incoming first year and had a question regarding CHY 103. why are there two professors listed under the same course title and section? Does that mean both will be instructing me? Do I have to choose which one can instruct me specifically? Thank you.
I haven't seen that before but I think they will let you know why when the course starts.
@@LyJacky11 yeah it's quite weird, under the instructor section there's two people listed so it got me tripped up 😭
Are we allowed to swap a course time with another one even if it has the closed symbol next to it on the enrollment date or do we have to pick one that says open?
You have to keep refreshing until it says open if you really want that time!
Thanks bro i need to enroll to my
2nd year courses
No problem! Good luck!
I'm a first year for RTA Media Production and I have 4 required courses assigned and I can choose 1 liberal. Can I enrol in any extra courses without it costing extra? There was another class I was interested in taking.
I believe the tuition fee is the same for 5-7 enrolled courses!
If I'm a first-year and I need to select an elective for the winter term, would I do that on August 23rd during the course intention period?
Yes you're correct! You can do that during Winter course intentions (Aug 23).
Hey, I'm enrolled for some first-year courses in Public Health and I went on the VSB and I'm un-pinning the courses yet there are no other generated results. For ANY of my classes (1/1). Your courses probably don't have any other times so you can't swap :(
@@LyJacky11 yeah, I'm emailing my program advisor for help rn. Thanks for the video though, it helped a lot!
Hi I am taking biology at tmu. In tmu biology calendar It says that one course from the following options ( computer science or introductory programming for scientists)....
As a first year student does they automatically enroll me in one of these or do I need to enroll by myself?
I believe you have to enroll in one of those courses yourself for that requirement
Hello Jacky, I have a question about fee. When do I need to pay fee for my actual course. I have already paid my $500 tuition deposit. I haven’t received any email regarding that
I think you start paying the tuition in Aug or Sept
Excuse me, I did manage my courses through vsb, and added into the cart but some courses status are “closed”. Should I delete it and reselect those courses?
Closed means it's full, you can leave them in your cart until it's open (means there's space). You can enroll after it's open!
I want to swap 2 of my courses, after I swap one, can I swap the other right after? Or do I need to swap 1 course and then click “enroll” and then swap the other one
You have to do them one at a time :(
Hey bro I have a doubt like I want to swap my computer and math classes with different times so should I get it swapped manually on rams or should I swap it on vsb automatically please help!!
Manually on RAMSS
thanks bro

Hey! One question about swapping. Does the system drop the course I'm enrolled in if I try to swap it with one that has a waitlist?
If you use the swap function as shown, it will not drop your currently enrolled course until you are off the waitlist (enrolled in the new course).
@@LyJacky11 Awesome, thank you so much for your help! 😌
So the course sections are like different options for the same course?
Ya different dates and times
I’m a first year. If I’m happy with my schedule and I don’t have electives first semester do I still have to go through the enrollment shopping cart or just leave everything alone?
If you don't have any electives first semester and you're fine with the current schedule, then you're good to go! No need to go through enrollment cart!
Its is same for graduate programs as well?
Since im in graduate programs and no courses are showing
Sorry not sure about graduate programs!
Are courses automatically enrolled for 1st year students?
Yes, but you still have to enroll in your liberals (electives)!
If i want to swap one course, but then upon validating, there is a time problem with a lab, can i still swap ?
If there is an issue with validation, you will not be able to swap.
@@LyJacky11 thanks.
Can you go on the wait list if you’re swapping courses
Depends if the course has a waitlist!
I love you
thank you haha
u so real
lol thanks!
does the virtual means the class are online?
Yes, virtual means online!
I’ll be joining winter 2022 course should I get enrolled now??
You can do your course intentions now for Winter 2022.
Also quick question from a first year you might not know, is there a certain amount of courses I need to be enrolled in?
Check your program calendar, it tells you what required courses you need for each semester! I think usually it's around 5-6 courses.
Hey there! Thanks for the video, it was really helpful. I am a first year student, and I was enrolled in only 4 classes. Is that okay? Yes I guess you don't have to take any electives this Fall! Enrolled in 4 classes is fine as long as it meets your program calendar requirements!
Omg! Thanks! It's really helpful. I wished I found this video before course enrollment. I struggled so much and found this video. 🥲
Glad it was helpful!
