Saw Tesseract in Pittsburgh a few days ago. Dan mentioned it was one of their tougher setlists, and I share that sentiment. Everyone absolutely crushed their performances, and Dan was basically flawless on Legion. I really appreciated how he switched things up on some of his vocals in some of their earlier work, too. Really brought a different atmosphere to some of the songs. I believe this was my fourth Tesseract show, and it was by far my favorite so far.
That show was soooooo good. Dan gave it all and then some, was flawless, and jumping around like a madman. I even saw him kneeling down massaging his vocal chord during some of the longer instrumental sections. It was my first Tesseract show and one of the best prog metal shows I’ve seen.
I've seen them three times (4th will be in january) and they simply nailed it. Every. Single. Time. The quality of their live performance is absolutely insane. They're by far the best live band I've seen, and I've seen most of the big progmetal ones.
Dan is on a whole other level this entire album. Not just vocal performance, but the writing, the decisions, the lryics, just super creative and fresh.
I'm just now getting into these guys. Fucking phenomenal. It's like a blend of some of the most influential bands in my life, fucking can't get enough! What incredible vocal control. Everybody in this band is a damn unit.
The level at which Dan has been able to tighten up his vocals is unreal. In the past he's always been great, but this is near flawless for a live performance. I hope I get the chance to see you guys live. One of my bucket list concerts for sure
While ago I thought a certain Kyo from Dir en grey had a range for vocals. Dan has climbed instantly to my heart for every performances, emotions, skills, range. Thanks Dan, you are incredible!
Dan is amazing and I love him. When we went to him live though, he held back on the screams--like the best part between screams and vibrato. Such a talent. I understand he needs to hold back somewhat, but I wanted so much to see this live.
I would have never even noticed this was a live take. Tomkins' vocals are unbelievable on this album. I love that they really took this in a harder direction, rather than going soft like so many bands tend to do on latter albums. I've been enjoying this since it released - no second playthrough necessary.

The Grey is WITHOUT QUESTION my favorite. " Legion " is great but lacks the majesty of Grey ...... plus it's fun to sing in the shower while pretending to be Dan.

You are a very talented vocalist...one of the best in my opinion. Great band. So much talent. Shame you guys aren't bigger than you are. People just don't recognize real talent. I think this kind of mastery goes right over their heads.
