one of the best videos I've seen on my favorite ride. I've done this at least once a year for 20 years. Literally the most fun you can have on two wheels. Nice job on the video
Finally getting to do the Downieville Classic race that was cancelled since 2020 and was watching vids of the course. Watchig this I just realized this is you; we've actually ridden together (I'm Jeremiah, friends of BHayes). Handy video to have to watch and learn the course a bit - thanks!
Made me a believer in these trails. I live nowhere near, so have only heard bits and pieces about Downieville. Assuming there are a lot more trails there, this one by itself looks like it's worth a trip to ride.
Thank you! The songs in this edit are ones I chose from the UA-cam library. I'm not exactly sure since it's been a little while. I agree with you - I try to use just myself and the bike naturally on the trail, but sometimes mixing things up with some tunes for longer vids I think helps break it up. Thanks for watching Wyatt!
Very nice video. Definitely looks like a must ride! Your camera angle is always awesome. Thanks for letting me live that ride with you. But now i have to do it myself.
I was raised in Downieville from age 4-13 watched the whole vid just to see the tire/rubber padding at the end of First Divide that I saw on the drive home as a kid, wouldn’t have minded the full footage to see the old tennis courts and such :) Great video though!
Awesome trails & ride and stories. One suggestion :) Video is smooth, seems like you have a nice gimbal, but It would be also nice to have a better video resolution. In such raw videos, with sound of tyres and rear hub I also prefer to see all trail details, like roots and etc. With 1080 source video, I'm sure youtube downgrade quality, so you can see small squares.. Try 4k, at least once and you'll see the difference. Good luck!
Good video! I did that ride solo on July 4, 2017 on my custom rigid bike. I Did not go nearly as fast as I recall because it took me 3 hours and I was thrashed by the time I got back to Downieville. Yeehaw!
Two sections I walked where you blasted though on your vid, was that big gully and that first section of rocks. The gully I couldn't carry the momentum on a rigid bike. Bouncing around too much. The rock section where you wondered if it was the right way, I walked that too, though it was probably ridable even with a rigid fork. When I am riding solo in a new place I am fairly conservative in my riding.
I just noticed you have a YT 🤦♂️ lol I got one too 2020 YT jeffsy and i love it. Thank you for showing me the capability of the bike cuz I'm no where near your level
From what ive seen i bet it will be also your video is amazing because of the commentry passion and skill i also like your choice of music definatly a new subscriber!
Yo money ... can you do a most scenic Zen style rides .. good climbs and more chill DH some mental destress from these cray ass days lol Mad luv and thank u for all your work
The Outsider MTB I’m from the over 50 hardtail old school heads team lol so maybe I’m just projecting my desire to not smash my ass on rocks lol You keep doing you mans And positive healthy vibes to U your lady and Pip the wonder dog !
The Outsider MTB dude your getting me through the boring moments at work ( I’m a front line dude ) so thank you PS really miss the sound of your old rear hub as odd as that sound lol I’m getting a high engagement hub cause of it lol
Hi Matt, Yup - I did this ride alone through a shuttle from Yuba Expeditions. This was the last stop on my road trip from SoCal to Mammoth to Tahoe to Downieville. Check those vids out, as well. On this ride even though it's over 15 miles you do run into other riders though. There are always people out there to either ride with or chat with. The music tracks are from the UA-cam music library. They offer some cool instrumental tracks if you dig into them. I think one of the guys is called Bad Snacks from this edit. Thanks for watching and appreciate the feedback!
Hitting this Classic for the first time this weekend with 2 of my brothers and my son and a handful of other friends. Had to watch to get the stoke going! Hopefully not too hot or smokey...
How long have you been mountain biking? Was this your first time to Downieville? I’m also from SoCal, which is why your vids are Uber helpful. Nice vid!
This trail looks very cool. When i visit California (i hope in the next 2 years) i will ride this one. Are you allowed to ride your e Mtb here ? Greetings from Germany.
Thanks for the video. I've been dabbling in mountain biking after decades of road cycling & triathlon. Just curious if this is a trail that would be recommended for a beginning mountain biker. We'll be vacationing there in a few months & would love to do a bunch of trail riding.
Hi James - I'd say this is a strong intermediate trail. There are other trails in the area that are more beginner friendly though. Check in with the guys at Yuba City shop - they can help with the details. Thanks for tuning in.
James E. Wilson II look into Harmony Ridge/Nevada City, CA. area. They have lots of trails from beginner to expert. It’s a great hub for mountain biking. There is a general store, restaurant and parking in the area. Use Trailforks app to get more details. Or message me and I’ll meet you there. I live about 45 minutes away.
Hmmm... That's a toughy because you can always go at your own pace, but this ride is very long and I think if you aren't experienced it will be pretty intimidating. To be honest, I'd wait until your skillset is a bit higher to be at least a hard intermediate. There are beginner sections, but overall this ride can get pretty intense in areas. Hope this answer helps. I'd say though a solid intermediate would be good to go.

Awesome video, man! It was a perfect mix of trail riding and that peaceful song)) Love it! Keep it up doing a great content, mate!
Thanks Anton - love hearing that! Thanks for watching!
Just saw this and it was therapeutic to me with just hearing the bike and that song in the middle. Dope video.
Glad it helped out in a small way Ben. Good stuff.

Hey small world!
Really nice video. Road there for the first time last summer. Amazing trails.
Agreed! The video doesn't do the trails justice! Thanks for sticking around Brian. ;)
Use to live there... Love Downieville thanks for the memory
Such an amazing place. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this man!! Your lines were dialed pretty good and you were pinned on third divide too.
Glad you enjoyed!
I'm home on covid leave from work, sick and waiting to possibly be tested. Binge watching your vids. Enjoying the channel
Fingers crossed buddy let me know how it goes. 👊❤️

Yup. So much to offer in this area. And only a short ride from or to Tahoe. Thanks for tuning in Buz!
Great work for your blind Downie ride!
Thank you! Cheers!
I’ll be out in S. Tahoe in 2 weeks, and I’ll look into this epicness.
it's a good one!
Nice video man! Normally I prefer to listen to just the bike but that segment with the music was great. What's the intro song?

Me too Barin. ✔️

Makes sense. Especially that far out when you’re solo. I’m trying to get better at thinking like that.
Great place, hope you got to ride Pauly Creek ,Big Boulder and 2nd decide while you were there.
Next time!
