You have a whole lot of really nice patterns. The piece of fabric you dyed is very gorgeous. I am a cat lover and your kitty is so precious. I always look forward to your Flosstube videos. So sorry you had the Covid.
Hi Laurel! I, too, avoided covid all this time until right before Christmas. It seems everyone recuperate pretty quickly. I love the pattern Minty the Christmas Mouse and Moonlit Cat. I like the purple and black. Mill Hill Celestial Sleigh is very pretty. Hi Jelly 💖 Your WIP's are pretty. I have Autumn Alphabet too. I still don't know what to do about the teal color. I just posted my JBW Designs, Rabbit Alphabet. It is a big project, but I love it and love her designs. Nice to see another flosstube. Have a wonderful week!
So very nice to see you once again! Happy your stitch mojo has come back a bit! Looking forward to seeing more of your projects in the coming months! I have been working on so many wips these past few months and can’t seem to get anything finished! Guess life just happens and all the other “stuff” we need to completed throughout our days just gets in the way! I just brought out and old wip called Token of Love that I am stitching using a 28 count linen and DMC 115! It is so pretty and I thought appropriate to give it some love during the month of February! I think I have around 40 wips and am really hoping to finish a few this year! I absolutely love your owl and hope you start working on it again! It is so stunning! Looking forward to seeing more videos from you this year! Thanks so much for sharing! Happy Stitching!
I totally understand the “I didn’t earn my time to do my hobbies” haha! I always feel like I ‘have’ to finish up my chores, jobs, errands, etc before I can sit and enjoy cross stitch. But I’m so glad you’re back!! ❤
I want to finish stitching Celtic Summer this year. It was my New Year New Start in 2020. I hope you are able to finish stitching and fully finishing the projects you want to get done this year.
Continue working on your owl, even just once a week. He looks lovely. Alternate working on each wing, it might help you see that they are coming out even after all. If you plan to stitch even just a few days you’ll be surprised how much does get done. You have many other lovely charts and many close to being finished. I did the shepherdess into a wall hanging not a stocking by adding the huddled sheep to the bottom and noel to the top. I love it. If you can find a local stitching group they will help you keep focused. Best stitching wishes!
Hi Laurel! I totally understand- I also got the 10 days on the couch plague between Christmas and new years! And my husband got it too! So no apologies necessary, girl- we managed not to die and that was a major accomplishment! I’m also in the not FFOing all my stitching club! I admire those who do, but refuse to be guilted into FOing everything. You have lots of cute projects to work on! Glad you’re feeling better!
You could always wait until the end of year when Michael's has its big frame sale. Get what you want framed professionally. The rest you could frame yourself or finish in other ways. I've always loved that owl pattern of yours. My eyes would rebel with stitching on a dark fabric though. Have a great day!
Nice visit, glad to see you again ! Love seeing the big Owl a friend and myself purchased that kit after seeing yours but we haven’t started it yet . Thanks, Kim ☀️
Great video! Two things. Bernstitches does a thing, I think it’s called scary Sunday, where you work on a piece that scares you for some reason. Check her out, you could work on that gorgeous owl!! Also on the piece that is awkward to stitch and hold, you could see some plain fabric around the edges so that you could use a regular round hoop. Might help get it done!
I very much enjoyed your video--the pace of it, your honesty. Thank you for letting us know how you are and where you are with your stitching. I plan to finish several projects this year, but have been starting more large ones so that they're already in work when I am ready for them. This year I have only one finish so far, Celestial Picture by Kooler Designs. I have framed a couple of finishes, and am delighted to learn I am better at it and less resistant to finishing than I used to be.
Laurel i was so happy to see you posted a video! I could listen to you all day you are so calming. Love seeing all your WHIPS Love your owl he is gorgeous! Jelly is so cute! Glad she came for a visit. Thanks for sharing your love of needlework!
You have some great stitching there! I can understand getting into a slump. I would not call your finishes a shame collection. You have stitched them and they are beautiful. Maybe frame a couple of the easier ones and I bet that will give you the momentum to get more done. It also might help you get out of your slump. I have been trying for the last year or two to try and put out my quilts and stitching. I made it and want to enjoy it. Happy Stitching!
Good to see you Laurel. I never had to do any book fairs when i was a school librarian, our PTO group did them, and from the sounds of it, I'm glad! Sorry to hear you were sick. Especially over your break. I am hoping to finish my "Glory of Autumn" piece this year. I don't really like working on it, but I love the picture, so I'd really like it done!
Hi I just found your video. Love the WIP's especially the Owl. It's beautiful & I hope you'll finish it soon. It's definitely worth framing. You've put so much time into it.
As another big fan of your voice, great to see you again! You definitely have some stitching conundrums going on. Seems that some of them just require some easy floss purchasing, but others... Could you, instead of a q-snap for the Jim Shore, use a hoop, even if it's only holding top to bottom? Might just have to tighten it up periodically, but definitely easier to hold. I think the sheep on the Shepherdess will be fine in white, maybe do a contrasting gray backstitch if necessary. The potential problem changing it to a black sheep is, his face will disappear.😕 Not that I'm into cute stuff, but that Cotton Kittens is SERIOUSLY cute!...need to frame that one, or at least a flat finish on an easel. Hope to see you again soon!
I too did the Cardinal etching, and felt the same way. I finished it and gave it to my supervisor, (I am the Page at our library, so our branch manager). I am also doing Berry Patch, and doing the SAL with The Novel Stitcher. She has the hashtag #bestbunniessal. It is so cute. Glad to see you back, great Flosstube. A WIP I want to finish is Winter Tranquility from Twin Peaks Primitive. It’s a lot of white😅
I am in the do-not-fully-finish-my-cross-stitch-club. But I recently made a small pillow from a pattern I stitched in 2021 and gave it to my sister. She really appreciates it which made me feel good. The book you shared sounds so sweet. Definitely a book I would have read to my kids when they were younger.
Hi Laurel, your Quaker & Owl projects are beautiful! Have you tried Sulky Sliver Metallic for gridding. It works well for me & just pulls out so easily. Joanne's carries it. Get a contrasting color. Keep stitching, every hour pays off.
I hope making a video did the trick in sparking your stitching interest again! I have moments of burnout here and there too and it’s nice to know that my stitching will always be there waiting for me when I feel like coming back to it 😊❤ Take care girl! I was really excited to see your video in my feed today!🥰
Christmas Village by Victoria Sampler. I'm very close to finishing it, but haven't been inspired to pick it up cos it's strangely Spring weather here in Michigan! 😈
Hi! I just came across your video today and enjoyed seeing all your WIPS. That owl is magnificent. Finish it and see if you do have any trouble pulling the gridded stitches out..🤔 If some stay under you may have to do some careful snipping, but it will be worth it! I love the little kitten pussy willows! Have a great stitchy week ahead! 👏🏻🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
One of my WIPs that I would love to finish is the HEIRLOOM Nativity Sampler. It's gorgeous and I bought it to fix for my mother. Unfortunately, it has so many specialty stitches and Hardanger areas that are beautiful, but I'm afraid I'll screw them up, ruining the whole piece. It wasn't cheap, as I bought all the silks, etc. that go into it and I'm very afraid of messing it up. On the other hand, I'd love to learn to do all the new things (new to me, anyway) it has in it! Like your owl, it takes enormous focus to work on it. Any tips on getting over this maddening fear? Lol!!
Oh that sounds like an interesting project! Maybe try it in pieces or sections. I think we see our mistakes a lot more than other people do... so maybe don't sweat the small flaws. It happens to all of us. ❤️
Enjoyed your video. I am a retired librarian who cataloged Slavic materials (Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, etc.) for PU. Are you planning on remaining a school librarian?
Wondered where you had been . Oh the book fairs are a lot but that’s good. You should join the #bestbunniessal the novel stitcher is hosting. It’s fun and we do bunnies. Hopefully to finish.
You have a whole lot of really nice patterns. The piece of fabric you dyed is very gorgeous. I am a cat lover and your kitty is so precious. I always look forward to your Flosstube videos. So sorry you had the Covid.
Thank you for the kind words ❤️
Just found you! Wow that owl is amazing, you go. Looks perfect so far!
Thank you! 😊 I appreciate your comment.

Hey 👋 I ended up going with Tropical Ocean for the biggest pumpkin, that seemed the most teal color to me. I hope that helps!
@mountainlaurelstitches that's what I ordered, and I think it is the perfect color! Thank you!
So very nice to see you once again! Happy your stitch mojo has come back a bit! Looking forward to seeing more of your projects in the coming months! So true! I need to get away from thinking like that!

So true, sometimes the joy is just in the creating. 🪡
Another awesome video!! Thank you!!
My daughter used to ask me the names of all the dogs we saw when we were in the car. She is 50. That was a sweet memory.
That is so sweet 🥹
Always love your videos and your calm, soothing voice ❤
😊 thank you
Hey Laurel! 👋🏻. Tall Treat is precious! And I love your monochromatic JBW design piece.
Thanks so much! 😊

Hope you enjoy it! 🦉
That first one is not Santa Claus but "Sinterklaas" . He comes on december 6th in Belguim and the Netherlands to bring sweets and toys to kids.
I love that so much! 🐱🎅

Wow, that sounds like a good group to join to get through those terrifying projects.

Love the first kitty!
Thank you 🐱

Great advice! Yes, the cotton kitten framing is on the to do list! 🐱

Giving stitching to other people is such a big motivator for finishing projects.

Wanted to encourage you to frame your finishes yourself. There are lots of videos. A lot of the supplies are found on Amazon! You can do it!!!
Thanks - I finished a lot of pieces in the last few months! Looking forward to sharing. ❤️

Thanks for checking in on me. I am hoping to post an update soon ❤️

Enjoyed your video. I am a retired librarian who cataloged Slavic materials (Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, etc.) for PU. Are you planning on remaining a school librarian?
Hello! No, I would like to try other librarianship opportunities at some point in the future.
Wondered where you had been . Oh the book fairs are a lot but that’s good. You should join the #bestbunniessal the novel stitcher is hosting. It’s fun and we do bunnies. Hopefully to finish.
🐇 Thanks for the info!
Did you finish the green thing?
Hi Laurel, do you have an email for brand partnerships? I'd love to chat about partnering on some crafty content - thanks! 😊
