I appreciate so much that you use the word "fantasize" when you talk about your mental preparation for these types of things. If there's one thing I've learned from being married to my husband, it's that this seems to be a very normal thing for men. I maybe haven't given it the credit it deserves, but i can say that i knew pretty early on that his own fantasizing wasn't cause he necessarily wanted things to be chaotic or scary or whatever, but he for sure seeks out and takes pleasure in fulfilling that protector role and being able to especially show his provider capabilities in times when providing is even harder. In our modern world, it seems that this is an aspect of masculinity that is not widely appreciated. You helped me realize that i can be especially grateful to be able to recognize this trait in my own husband. I hope to focus on it more. Thank you.
I also just want to say that from what I've observed in my job, i am not sure we even need any particularly large social collapse or crisis for single women to be very vulnerable. In my observation, the number one group of victims of financial fraud (which seems to only be on the rise) and elderly abuse is single women. I could almost write a book on what I've observed and all the ways i see that women are more likely to be victims and vulnerable to some pretty disastrous risks. This is before anything collapses. I'm sure you have probably thought about or have awareness of much of what I'm talking about. I had some awareness before this job, but not this much. It breaks my heart.
