  • Are you a reporting institution (RI) under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA)?
Under paragraph 19 of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) and Targeted Financial Sanctions (TFS) for DNFBPs and NBFIs Policy Document (Policy Document), reporting institutions must establish internal criteria (“red flags”) to detect suspicious transactions. This video provides an overview of red flags that RIs must establish to identify suspicious transactions.
For further details, including a softcopy of the Policy Document as well as other AML/CFT resources, please visit BNM’s AML/CFT Microsite at amlcft.bnm.gov.my/. (See Appendix 15 of the Policy Document for examples of red flags)
