This is classic old school country made famous by Tanya Tucker. You don't have to be a hardcore country fan to like good music. You sir have an open mind and a good ear. Love your reaction.
I’m floored, I believe the rose faded from days gone by is also a saved rose from a loved one , girls notoriously press flowers in books to preserve precious moments.
Apologies to the previous singers of this - but now Home Free & Brooke Eden own the song. The beatboxing, harmonies, singing, setting - all of it - is simply perfect. Thanks for playing this & your comments. Love from a Canadian subscriber.
Love this upgrade from Home Free and that they really encourage up and coming artists to shine (i.e. Maggie Baugh, Texas Hill and now Brooke Eden) to name a few. Home Free never disappoints!
Great song! Bette Midler did it first in 1971 but I remember Tanya Tucker & Helen Reddy's versions. The guys did a really nice job backing up Brooke Eden on this song. They never take away from a guest vocalist. And how cool did they all look dressed in the western theme. Reminded me of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movies I used to watch.
They also did a video with one of their prior touring partner who opened for them, Maggie Baugh, and Maggie with the guys on a Dolly Parton original song, From Here to the Moon and Back is one of my favorites. The guys often join with other artists some of whom are still trying to make a bigger impact in the music industry and have had some legendary performers join them too like Kenny Rogers, Don McLean, the Oak Ridge Boys, and Alabama among them.
that feeling is called Pathos, btw... Also. LOVED your reaction. Seeing someone so young reacting to a remake of an old song is always interesting to me, and this did not disappoint.
Tanya Tucker owns this song but, Home Free brought it back. A young girl met a man that gave her a rose and told her he'd be coming back for her and he never did. She's still waiting.
I know you really like 70's upbeat songs so check out Home Free's cover of The Doobie Brothers Listen to the music. Adam is insane on it. Also their cover of The O'Jay's Love train. ☮️
Enjoyed your reaction....you and many other reactors don't care for country music.....yet you all love Home Free....thats because they are country and so much more! I love watching reactors enjoy these guys as much as we do! I just subbed for more Home Free!
Welcome to the Home Free Curse. I've been slapped with it four times, and I've just quit counting. They cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. This is one. How good do you have to be to do that?
This is super. Sorry to say but I like this better than the original and other covers. Great sung, incredible bass, unbelievable beatboxing/vocal sounds, amazing harmonies. Each has just the right role in the song. And then the video!!! Wow. They all look perfect🥰😍. Images from earlier Western movies that I watched a lot came back! Yes, another successful cover!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Home Free and Brooke Eden are awesome together!💖
I just subbed in hopes of more Home Free reactions! Also try some Voice Play and Pentatonix! All 3 together make the great trifecta of modern a capella & provide 100s of hours of every genre of music done perfectly! 💖
This is a cover. The version I'm most familiar with is Tanya Tucker's version. As with all of their covers home free make it their own. As to the meaning of the song, I've always taken this as a modern version of Miss Havisham in Great Expectations. Left at the altar by a faithless suitor, Delta Dawn walks around town still with faded roses in her hand (a wedding bouquet?) mixing biblical references of Christ with her fiancé that she knows will come back. As such a sad story, but in such a catchy tune that it is hard to feel the sorrow. Others are free to correct me, if they have a different interpretation. Great reaction and like you I enjoyed this version.
Hi Shon! Pull up the story on the song it's very interesting. This was done by Tanya Tucker on Hee Haw in 1973 when she was 13 years old and it was a hit. Also, if you would like to check out Adam Rupp the beatboxer for Home Free take a listen to this, Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. They don't only do country tunes. You have just gone down the rabbit hole known as Home Free! Have a great day!
Check out Tanya Tuckers version. It will give you the basis for this song and she recorded it when she was 14 years old. Loved your reaction young man. Loved it.
They sure didn't hold back on the country sound for this song. Every once in awhile, I like the hard twang. This was always one I liked. Such vocal chameleons, HF is a rare treasure.

Check out the Butts Remix(Home Free)
The faded rose might symbolize the wasted life and faded love spent waiting for the dark haired man that never returned.
I think that may be it - the low degree man left her. Will enjoy hearing other thoughts

Beautiful

No apologies from me. Never could stand this song. Got slapped by the Home Free Curse again. I'm thinking it's time I just surrender.
Hrooke % Home Free, well they did some ass-kickin' in this one

They don’t do covers they do upgrades!! Loved your reaction! ❤
These boys can't do a bad song. Brooke Eden is perfect for this song. Love the western setting.❤️❤️
Rob needed to lose the glasses and grab the wig he had on when they "larped" to 'Brother'. Or, at least a bandana around his neck.
They Sound Awesome Together, Love Your Reaction ❤
Check out Home Free ft. Maggie Baugh in From Here To The Moon and Back

What I found interesting was her very relaxed vibrato. Fit perfectly with this song. Thanks.

It was done 50 years ago. Yes, Brooke has a great voice. Loved Tim’s lows and Austin’s highs. Loved them as cowboys. Good reaction!

Hey, you might love seeing their "When a Man Loves a Woman", or "Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On" or "One Man Band". 🙋♀️ Thanks!

The bad girl of Country.

The feeling you get at the funeral home is the presence of God. Sweet baby, get ya some Jesus and you can feel His peace all the time.
Tanya Tucker was 13 when sang this. Check it out.
Here's one it's country you might like, jimmy allen , Down Home.
This song more like gospel song then country
This is good but Tanya Tucker IS this song.
