I think it because the two song use the jp sonic cd intro theme as a leitmotiv, thats why the musical phrases seem to awnser eachother.
That and TeeLopes is the 🐐

Also, not all of the soundtrack was converted when sonic cd reached the us
If these two levels were to fuse ot would be cool if you shrunk down as mini sonic(like in metallic madness) and you had to race mini metal sonic on a toy race track(like in stardust speedway)

I knew these 2 songs would fit together, because both of them fit with Big Shot from Deltarune, so logically, if both of them can be mashed up with Big Shot, then they can also be mashed up with each other.

BOSS: METAL SONIC AND ROBOTNIK
metal is chasing you from behind, eggman is attacking using several weapons rather than one. beat one and you take out both.
metal’s attacks: hyperdrive: metal boosts forwards, jump over it
plasma buster: locks on to sonic and shoots several plasma shots that go fast enough to go past sonic, but slow enough that he has to keep dodging them as robotnik attacks
robo spin: it’s a spindash. he’ll jump out of it when he gets close enough, so jumping over him isn’t the best idea, but if you do it right you could bait metal into damaging eggman instead
eggman’s attacks:
wrecking ball: swings it 360 degrees before it snaps off the chain and bounces towards you. if you’re clever you can lead metal right into it, damaging him
laser: shoots a laser in a similar manner to metal’s plasma buster. though he only fires one long laser blast rather than several plasma shots
fire grenade: shoots a bomb that bounces once before exploding and leaving a fire trap. gotta pass it after it bounces, but before it explodes.
pinch mode adds a larger laser beam from eggman, and metal using the drop dash to mix up his spins.
sonic if it was good
this would be perfect for like, a sonic mania 2 where the time stones get messed up with the phantom ruby, and sonic needs to go through different versions of the levels that are combined with other levels or something
I would love to see a sonic mania sequel, and this surely is a good concept
