L.A. County Fair kicks off in Pomona, celebrating 102 years

- The Los Angeles County Fair kicks off on May 3 at the Pomona Fairplex. The fair is celebrating its 102 birthday this year. Visitors can enjoy plenty of rides, delicious food, games, live concerts and much more.
The fair kicked off its 16-day run featuring the theme, “Stars, Stripes & Fun,” which celebrates the county’s communities. Since Los Angeles County is one of the most diverse counties nationwide, the fair aims to celebrate everyone through song, dance, exhibits, and food.

How much will the price go up on food there?
Just went today, jumbo corn dogs are going for $20. Large drinks were $15. Beer was $17 for a small and $25 for a large. My son had a pizza slice which was $11 my wife had a Asada baked potato that was $28 and I had an onion blossom $16

I've always assumed county fairs are a summer thing. Is the LA county fair the earliest in the country?

It used to be in September but the Summer heat, especially in the valley, was too brutal for the attendees. People sweating like crazy.
There’s hardly any shade on the fair grounds. So the Sept heat was really bad
The Salinas Valley Fair (located in Monterey County, California) is in 2 weeks in the middle of May
WOW I came to Los Angeles 20 years ago and yet I have never gone to the county fair. My younger brother and sister just immigrated from El Salvador 2 years ago time to go for the 1st time 🎉🎉. Today is May 3rd 2024 here in L.A the time is 11:06 PM
