  • Joe's Bikes - Cannondale Super Six Evo Di2 7.6kg Bike Build (Monochrome)
    --------------------------------------------------
    We are extremely honoured to bring you this bike build video as this bike was actually made especially for our Cannondale rep, and was then on display at the Official Cannondale 2020 release conference.
    Due to the modifications to the bike it is actually likely to be less than 7.6kg as suggested in the title.
    If you enjoy this video please support us by subscribing and checking out our other videos, or visit our website at joesbikes.co.uk where we sell a range of cannondale bikes and plenty other brands there to buy.

    Can't bring myself to buy a new frameset for disk brakes. My old (2005) Pinarello F4:13 in a size 53 built up with a few trick components (notably eTap and bits of carbon and Ti) over the years and Mavic UST Ksyrium tubeless aluminum wheels weighs in at 6.9Kg with pedals and bottle cages. Why switch to something that weighs an extra kg or more for the price of a good used car? I live in very mountainous terrain and value a light bike. Sure the Cannondale looks pretty and the dropped seat stays are all the rage. I'm sure lots of people will disagree LOL. Well made video and really fun to watch the build. I need to buy a pot of grease and get a brush too, like a pro.

    The eggbeater pedals would be the owner's preference. Lots of people use mtb pedals on road bikes. Nothing weird about that.

    Great video .. I bought the same bike a few months ago. But I am so glad Cannondale no longer uses these cheap and bad looking disc rotors shown in your video (shown at 6:47). I would have asked the dealer immediately to swap them with real Ultegra ice-tech rotors.

    Where was the Di2 junction box? The switch plate in the downtube was solid carbon and I thought this model came with the charge port in the downtube. Great video, very well put together.

      @JoesBikesUK  Рік тому

      Hi Nick, glad you enjoyed the video. You are right, a lot of stack for sure. We leave them tall a lot of the time as we can always trim more off when the customer decides on the finishing stack required. After all we can't add height later! We sometimes have to move spacers from below to above the stem a few time before we do the final cutting. Thanks for watching and I hope the answer helped, cheers Joe.

    Nice bike build. I have the 2020 Supersix evo hi-mode with the integrated cockpit and am looking to travel with it using a bike case. What is the best way to remove the integrated cockpit/handlebars for packaging? Should I leave the integrated stem and bars together by removing the stem from steerer tube or should I try removing the handlebars from the stem?

    I’m enjoying the bike so far ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

    I picked up one of these bikes but am disappointed by how harsh and stiff it rides.. not sure what to take a look at. 25c tires with about 75 psi on the stock Knot 45SL wheels.

    • @JoesBikesUK
      @JoesBikesUK  Рік тому

      Hi there, they are a very stiff frame making for a very light bike. There is supposed to be a bit of give/flex in the rear to aid comfort but having ridden a similarly spec'd Carbon Topstone I think I'd rather have one of those. Personal choice but there is no doubt the Super Six if blisteringly fast. As you say tyres and pressures can make a difference and wider tyres with less pressure would help with comfort. I hope you enjoyed the video and hope you get your bike how you like it, cheers Joe.

    On the new SS EVO, how do you release the front wheel? The quick release caliper is all different from what I am used to and I am afraid I am going to damage the front fork. If anyone knows, please advise. Thanks!

    • @markmark2469
      @markmark2469 4 роки тому

      @@JoesBikesUK Thanks! This helps but I am pretty new to bike maintenance.... How do I go about unwinding the axle? Do I need a hex key to do it? The lever/quick release caliper on the right side of the front axle does not seem to open the way the old ones do; so I am still a little lost? This is a new Super Six EVO (2020) and I want to change out my factory tires to Continentals GP 5000s, (less rolling resistance).
