Great work. I see a lot of chey tac .408 on McMillian stocks. I have a rem 700 target tactical .308 on a Bell & Carlson tac 5 stock and became quite accustomed to that stock would you be able to put that action on the stock?
I was thinking of building a budget chassis cheytac, take the new ruger 300 win mag or 338, which ever one you think will eject.. hoping its the win mag since it's lighter. Add a prefit barrel if possible and add a extra mile my long range fun.
I dont think that would work. Its a different bolt face and you would definitely have to single feed live rounds and I don't think it would eject empty cases. Just to give you an idea of how big some of the .375 projectiles are......the .375 bullet is longer than a .223 cartridge and about the same diameter.
I would say anything is possible but it would definitely cost you a lot of money probably 15k at a minimum. The real question is why would you want to? 375ct is a hot rod....you wouldn't use a top fuel dragster to deliver pizzas.
Jeff Hankins, The reason Cheytac USA makes those .375 and .408 Cheytac rifles at over $10,000 is because of....greed! Knight's Armament is the same way with their .308 M110 rifles....greed.
your work is outstanding
