i just feel like theres a bunch of people who never really mentally developed or challanged their worldview since they were 14 in 2016 and theyre adults now
It's genuinely scary to me that the political non-landscape that were the 2016 american elections and it's fallout over the next 8 years, are likely the ONLY political background that middle to late zoomers will have had, coming into their own beliefs. Our teenage years have an enormous impact on what we believe and value, and to a lot of people, that now means believing the left wing is "woke" and the right wing's only goal is to "preserve sanity". The latter's control of the narrative, irregardless of their potential lack of real power on the "politics" scale is a very real, very scary and very, VERY dangerous thing that is gradually tipping the scales into their favor. Zoomers now don't have the capacity to understand, nor the education to be taught, how the mainstream narrative of "woke bad" is, while not entirely new per sé, at the very least new in it's intensity and one-sidedness. There is no greater political context for anything happening within the political sphere other than "diversity inclusion bad, freedom to be edgy good". The American left wing's inability to adapt to this situation, by clearly and unequivocally stating their own stance, by rejecting the backwards ignorance of the right wing, and by promoting intellectualism over tribalism, isn't entirely their own fault, but a lack of unification and intellectualism within the left wing ranks IS their fault. There is little you can do to defeat the machine of propaganda that is the right wing, but there is much you can do to deconstruct it, by actively engaging with it, debunking it, and providing clear evidence AGAINST the right wing's case and FOR the left wing's, by referring to the history of political thought, the majority of which has been in danger of turning totalitarian or authoritarian because of right wing influences. Sadly, the "14 in 2016" effect means that less and less young people have the capacity to do that, and more and more people genuinely believe Jordan Peterson, Elon Musk, Donald Trump and all the other scheisters are proponents of "freedom of speech" rather than the cynical, grubby, self-serving, tribalistic, exploitative little gasbags they truly are.

People’s misunderstanding of satirical works is very frustrating. If a satire has nothing to say then is it actually a satire at all? We live in the animal side of the internet most of the time but Trumpf’s recent “eating the dogs” comment went viral and so many people claimed they were using it as a satire but didn’t actually use it to say anything. Many of the posts work both as a support of Trump and as a joke at Trumps expense. They even made a ridiculous TikTok dance about it. We are cooked.
Bro this specific hegemon being cooked is a good thing. You seen how the world has been for the last 100 years? And for the 300ish before that? Nah, the American empire was the last wimper of the west. The people set to being the new one haven't invaded another country before the time of Jesus. Yes, it will be painful. Yes, it means we'll never get that fleet of Rolls Royces. But America is utterly incapable. Even at perpetuating itself. How long were the halcyon days of America's reign? 20 years? 30? Egyptian empire 7000 years. Chinese empire 4000 years Eastern Roman empire 1000 years. British and french empires 200 years. American empire?... Couple of decades?

Isn't every non white character played by a white person nowadays not considered racist? Racism is the easiest excuse that's being used way too much. That's a shame - I've found being open to other people's opinions and interpretations of art to be a very fulfilling, exciting and engaging experience, even if they don't agree with mine, since it is within those discussions that I can arrive at conclusions I feel are more concrete, thought-out and solid. At the risk of sounding presumptive and rude, your actions read as quite insecure and uncurious. I'd recommend you be more open to experiencing things that don't always make you feel good, as it is within those moments you can really learn more about yourself and what you believe in.
@@KaiAfterKai I think the notion of how to do dark humor right sounds really pretentious. I know what makes you laugh is subjective, but to just say this style of comedy wrong just sounds like some high art snob who wants to be morally right
I loved both. But the Dictator was way ahead of it's time, that was back in 2010 making fun of something way more relevant a decade later. I don't know why you compare the two, they are completely different and cannot be compared. The dictator never asks you to take it seriously, it's just a silly comfort movie that you don't have to pay too much attention to in order to get a laugh and that's not a bad thing in and of itself.

My view of the Dictator was tainted when I learned Sacha Baron Cohen is a zionist. Looking at it through that lens, it becomes much less dark humour and much more anti arab/muslim. If you like the comedic style of four lions, you should check out the more recent comedy of Frankie Boyle if you haven't already. His series New World Order which is on Iplayer and youtube, or his book the future of British politics.
I have a question, since you grew up around Muslims, r they similar to how the media makes them out to be, partiucally on like LGBT and women's rights? There's a lot of bad press about them and I know there's some truth to it but I also know there's a lot of straight up racist and bigoted lies as well, so I would be really curious to know from someone who has actually lived in those communities.
When it comes to LGBT issues, I can't say the topic ever came up much. When it did, the general attitude seemed to be, "That shit's weird, but you do you," which isn't great, but eh. Not much different to other Abrahamic religions. I can't imagine it would be easy if a gay Muslim was to try and come out to their family - I certainly wouldn't want to be in their place - but there's a great deal of opinion and thought on the topic. There's a lot of interesting discourse, especially when it comes to historical instances of homosexuality in pre-modern Islamic societies, which seem to echo how the Ancient Greeks and Romans viewed the concept. I'd definitely recommend looking into it, though that might just be the history nerd in me talking. Women's rights... supportive, I guess? It was something that never really came up, which I guess in and of itself says that everyone was more or less in agreement with them. I can't say I ever got the sense that any of the Muslim girls around me felt that they couldn't do anything men couldn't. There were several students and teachers who didn't wear hijabs, and during my A Level Religious lessons, when we got to talking about things like divorce and abortion, most people were pretty progressive or were at least respectful of other people's right to choose. Also, make of this what you will, but I sat next in-between a Muslim girl and a Christian girl during Science - both open and proud about their faith - and they had some of the most degenerate, perverted and shameless conversations I've ever heard in my life. They'd put university students to shame with some of the chats they had over my head. Assuming they get married, I fucking pray for their husbands cause within a few months they won't be walking right. So yeah. Not much more problematic than the rest of the general population imo. You're going to find some wonderful friends, some proper dickheads, and a lot of people who you just have no opinion on. In other words... pretty much every other group on the planet.
if you think there are any cultures on the planet who dont oppress homosexuals its only because you have already perpetually dehumanized those who arent born well off. show me a country and i'll show you them murdering most of the human species they come into contact with. unless its china. for some reason they just like to make stuff and vibe with nature
I live in the Middle East and a lot of the things people say are true, like for example Muslims don’t like LGBT, and I don’t think any gay Muslim would ever come out unless if they have a deathwish lol. About women’s rights tho, there isn’t much inequality here , at least in my country the only thing is hijab ig don’t know about Afghanistan tho. Also I don’t think any Muslim from like Iraq or Saudi Arabia would consider American “Muslims” as real Muslims
I’m sorry that I’m about to make the most stereotypical overdone comment ever. How do you only have 4.2k views? Your video is great, It definitely deserves more views.

check out the zohan or zohan or somethin like that, its the same concept as these but with adam sandler and ngl i enjoyed it when i watched it ages ago
It’s easy to mock “Islamic extremism” as absurd when you ignore the decades of colonial exploitation that caused it. After WWII, the U.S. didn’t stop imperialism-they just removed the symbols and weird rhetoric from Naz1 party who took the Colonialism ideals to the nth degree and even to Europe (Then it started to bother Europeans with their own colonial ideas). Same ideals, same exploitation and lesser concentration camps (Only one, but they need Israel to deal with it, otherwise OPEP raise oil prices, so they keep some of them as hostages - They call it Gaza Strip now.. Germany used to call Polish). Instead of Africa or Europe as previously, which was in the UK's hands and NazyGerman, they turned to the Middle East for oil. If you can’t see it, you’re helpless. Thats why this commentary can't be called anti-Semitic, because it don't dealt with "Oh poor Jews after ww2, lets use that angst to our colonial ideals now! You were appressed before, now you can oppress the ones who are against our domination!" - This is politics, not culture.
I like the dictator. It’s like an Adam Sandler movie, not as good as his other stuff but a great popcorn movie… it’s kinda bad but got some funny jokes. Better than anything coming out since the death of Hollywood anyways. I’ve watched more of the video and this guy seems offended by the sjw jokes. lol! I admit it’s not a very good movie and I only remember HIV Aladdin. Sjws definitely exist tho, move to LA… they’re nice people tho and always have terrible mental issues and depression , and “anxiety”

The dictator never asks you to take it seriously, it's just a silly comfort movie that you don't have to pay too much attention to in order to get a laugh and that's not a bad thing in and of itself.
who's the little feller in the corner?
A plushie of a character called Nyan. They're designed by the artist Chew, and I got it a couple months ago. They've been a background staple of every video since.
I've been wondering when someone would point them out, so congrats on being the first.
It was giving him the nastiest side eye all video 😂
bro you should be in a audiobook, your voice sounds cool 😮

What’s that plushie from it looks familiar

Even though it was dark humor i felt like some of those scenes sympathied with monster and is just wrong
To be honest the woke thing with the dictator is literally just one character thats not even a huge part of the plot
I remember watching the dictator once and was so disappointed by it. The humor was so much more shallow and childish than in Cohen's other works

(Commenting, so i get notification if he answers)
@@sagking5282 not much inequality sure, middle east is a shit hole (all countries whatever religion)
I’m sorry that I’m about to make the most stereotypical overdone comment ever. How do you only have 4.2k views? Your video is great, It definitely deserves more views.
I've learned not to become too invested in view counts, especially if you're like me and refuse to pick a niche to settle in. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, though!
check out the zohan or zohan or somethin like that, its the same concept as these but with adam sandler and ngl i enjoyed it when i watched it ages ago
don't care, dictator is funny
In the dictator the anti sjw humour works because the pc girl is saying all this crap to a middle eastern dictator and his confusion is so funny
Like this comment to reminde me to watch four lions thanks in advance
Watch Four Lions.
Really? Are you rationalising dark comedy?
Sunglass fail. Sorry can’t take you serious.

Hmmm, well heres my take
You're a snowflake, they're comedies, comedies which serve the purpose of.... Comedy. Some i agree with you on this list aren't really that funny, but comedy is subjective.
You know what actually *is* comedy. People saying comedy is subjective and then, in the same breath, calling someone a snowflake for their subjective taste in comedy. Now *that's* hilarious.
Snowflake behavior
