I have a black & gold WS6 79 T/A with the original Olds 403 that I have owned for over 40 years here in eastern Massachusetts,, I am looking to contact someone like yourself who know’s these motors, it runs good but I would to have someone like you possibly check it out or go through it? Could you reach out to me and let me know
@@JosephSinko I’m flattered you think I’m worthy of working on your TA! Thank you for the compliment. I’d like to help you out but I barely have time to work on my own projects. I can offer advice if that will help. Do you just want to tune your car up so it runs like it should or are you looking for ways to make it faster? Where in Mass are you? I live in Wakefield but my shop is in North Reading.
@@jasonnelson6624 I have a 2nd Gen subframe in it so it can take a lot of different engines. I’m very good with Olds engines and have a lot of parts for them. A few years ago I had a 455 Olds in it but it was a little a little more radical than I wanted. I found this 403 pretty cheap and I always liked them so I thought I’d give it a try. If I sell the car I don’t want to include an engine with it that I might need someday so the 403 should be an inexpensive, fun and expendable engine to have in it for now.
@@olzkng sorry my mistake I said 3rd gen but meant 2nd. I also have a 67 400 and have had 78 and 79 both with the 403. I was a little surprised you didnt use a 79 Tran am rear as it to had rear disc and highway friendly gear ratio's. But of course a person uses what they have or easiest to get their hands on especially when a budget is in mind. My first thought when I saw underneath looking up at the 6 cylinder saying how you have space. My first thought was yeah good space for a turbo. But as I looked through your video I saw you already did a turbo in the sunfire. But the 403 I'm sure will do you just fine. Nice firebird I appreciate adding the 400 items like the hockey sticks, block off plates, and the arrow head. So many times I see someone just adds the 400 hood and leaves it at that.
@@jasonnelson6624 it has the Trans Am type of rear disc brakes on a 1977 Cadillac Seville 8.5” rear axle. The Cadillac rear axle is the same width as a 67 to 69 Camaro/Firebird (since the Seville is basically a Nova chassis) whereas the 70 and up F-body rear axle is a little wider and the leaf spring pads are a little further apart. The Cadillac axle is a bolt-in (plus it already had the rear discs on it which are the same as the Trans Am discs). I put 3.73’s in it last year since it has a 200-4R overdrive transmission. Thanks for watching my videos!!
Oh boy!
It’s all you buddy! I have that spare OHC6 too if you’re interested!

Just curious why a 403? Im assuming you have 3rd gen parts since you already got a 3rd gen sub frame installed.
