The Key To Understanding Guitar As a Beginner

- I am not here to sell you the key to unlocking the guitar neck or anything like that. There are no magic secrets or hacks, but there are smart tools to use to aid your progress. Especially if you are a beginner and don't want to waste time.
So I decided to make a video about one of those tools, one I made myself and something that was certainly my key to understanding the guitar when I was a beginner (in many ways I still am one).
Learning the notes of the neck and understanding the patterns of the guitar, seeing the patterns in color, was a tremendous help for me. It still is. Especially since guitar is all about patterns, due to its design.
So, if you are new to guitar, or still think that something like this could be helpful to your understanding and your playing, feel free to go to the link below and grab it for free:

I can’t believe your videos don’t have more views, this is superb
That's very kind. Thank you. Hope you're having a great day!
Really great video yet again!
In the beggining, I've spent some weeks memorizing the notes in the fretboard with exercises and that helped me a lot since then. I won't say it's instantaneous, but if I need a specific note or triad, I know where to find it. I guess with practice and improvisation, that can become easier. Have to try to use visual cues like you suggest. Great tips!
I think for me it almost became second nature to "see" what I was playing, rather than to (just) hear it. At least for a long time.
I'm working on moving away from that now, but it's taken a long time to get to this point. Writing my own songs definitely helped accelerate that process. It provided a lot of structure and purpose to what I was doing.
But I only got to this point by working hard on memorizing the patterns, shapes and notes of my paper.
Btw, really looking forward to more music from you!
👏
Great video man. I never realized the notes on the 7th fret were the same as the string above it, but that will definitely help as reference point a little further up the neck
Thank you so much. Happy some of it was helpful! Appreciate the comment. Have a great day!
