Percy, a literal 12-year-old: *squares up to an actual friggin GOD with the ability to vaporize him on a molecular level if he felt like it* You: "Stand up to him. Do it." I don't know why, but that made me laugh SO hard 😂😂😂 Also, awesome reactions and discussions. I've really enjoyed watching you with this series!
The way Percy and Annabeth are learning from each other and growing, both as people and towards each other, is so, so cool to watch. It feels so natural and magnetic. This episode showcases everything they've been through so far and it's great.
In the original Ares quest in the book. While he is giving the quest we hear Percy's inner thoughts mentioning that just being in Ares presence just reminds him of every bully he has ever known, and Gabe combined. He feels pissed while talking to him. And he says he has a feeling Aries revels in the fact he can make Percy react this way. Like a magical aura that inspires anger and fighting. Also while yes the quest takes place in the water park. The traps were different. In the book they had to avoid a golden net constructed by cherub statues inside the ride. Hephaestus also installed a lot of cameras around to record the trap going off. Basically the golden net can capture a god. So he was planning to capture Ares and Aphrodite having fun in the tunnel ride and broadcasting them trapped to all of Olympus to embarrass them. When Percy and Annabeth escape the net. He looks at the cameras and yells something like "I hope we entertained all of you!" Because all the gods were watching them. And doing nothing to help. But I like the idea of Hephaestus using the chair he made for Hera instead. It hits harder. And seeing Percy showing his self sacrificing personality this early in the show is amazing. Makes him more endearing. The idea that the chair was warm and wouldn't allow him to move. And he is being encased in gold. A god would live from that, if a god is encased like that no problem it won't kill them. But Percy knew as a half mortal he would most likely die if he wasn't saved. He'd die of starvation at the very least. He didn't know how long he'd be in there or if it'd kill him slowly or not. Also Grover went with them and didn't have a talk with Ares that was added. But honestly I like it because it gives Grover his own little quest while the other two retrieve the shield. So the fact he has an idea who did this from talking to Ares is very intriguing as a book reader because they didn't really question anything until they were already in the underworld. A different change but an interesting on. I can't wait to see what Grover says next episode. Because us book readers have no idea.
It was really a great episode. I think you’re right comparing Percy & Annabeth. Percy has more experience in the real world. Annabeth has been living in the camp and has experience with the gods.
Loving your reactions and getting your thoughts and predictions for future episodes. Next week will definitely be a fun episode for sure. Glad you’re enjoying it, and keep up the amazing work buddy! 👍👍
I loved this episode so much and I loved Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus! He did so good! If you haven’t seen that actor in anything else I highly recommend the show Psych, he plays Detective Lassiter in it! I love your reactions and hearing all your theories keep it up!! ❤❤❤
Loved your reaction. I feel like the episodes keep on getting better and better. I fangirled over so many things this ep that quite frankly i'm exhausted. Ares was HIGHlarious and the way they've set up the beginning of what will be an eternal feud between him and Percy is great; Grover being a manipulative genius; and my absolute favourite, percabethhhhh. I ate good this episode fr. Gonna go watch x6 more times before the next ep. Your predictions for the future are so interesting. Haha, I shan't spoil anything.
I'm just wondering what they'll do with Percy's sword now. Didn't Chiron specifically mention that the sword will always return to him as long as he doesn't give it away? He just did and we didn't see Annabeth give it back. Or was I tripping and missed her not taking his sword? Like questions, I need answers! I love this show so much. It's not 100% like the books but it doesn't matter to me. It's a fateful adaptation by the creator who's had literally almost two decades at this point to overthink the things that worked in the books and the things that didn't. So I'm curious about the final three episodes!
@@KaitheKnightly I’d think so but we are talking about a magical item so I’m curious if that’s gonna have any implications later on. *because* they specifically mentioned the sword coming back as long as he’s not giving it away, which he did. shows don’t throw those lines out there if they don’t mean them. and then they didn’t even address giving it back? like we know magic items have minds of their own and I just wanna know if his sword will hold a grudge - so to speak. can’t really say anything else because it might be eventual spoilers I also just wanna know if they’ll show any of the deleted scenes eventually bc it feels like this could have been a deleted scene maybe? or they purposefully held it back. it just felt too important to me not to do anything else with it
@@laura_gieger well we will see. It would be interesting if that is the case. I'm not trying to sound harsh. But I also know that sometimes stuff like that isn't usually something more. I'd need maybe a mention of it in the next episode for me to feel that is possible. Until then I'm gonna just go with it was given back to Percy off screen because sometimes shows make mistakes like that in hoping the audience will realize Percy has it back. But we will see. If we see Percy wield it without trouble then it was just a gesture to prove Percy values Annabeth so much he is willing to let her inherit Riptide. If not and it's like you say I'm interested in the possibility seeing as some things have been changed by Rick wanting to improve some stuff.
so this isnt a spoiler or anything but in the history kronos eats all his kids except for his youngest who's zeus, cause zeus' mom rhea hides him and sends him to train to defeat kronos, which he eventually does. and the reason that kronos did that is because he was afraid that his kids will overthrow him which they eventually did. and the gods are very similar to their predecessors, the titans, so yeah they're all a big messy family which the demigods (and especially percy being the son of one of the strongest gods around) are forced to participate in
I'm pretty sure he didn't find anything out 😭😭😭 there's no way he knows lol like literally no way, the show didn't build anything for him to know SPOILERS BELOW!!!! . . . . . . . . . He probably just suspects it's a demigod
Amazing video!! Just found you today after watching this new episode. You’re absolutely right that this show needs more attention in order to get renewed for a season two. Thank you so much for making this video so perhaps more people will be intrigued by the show🩵💙
Another great episode! Check out my Reaction Playlist for Percy Jackson! ua-cam.com/play/PLhKj_eSYs0tsbRnPvqJ0cJmFfnq6DDNqj.html&si=0YggDQWv5atbo5h1
Grover outsmarting Ares and playing into the God's crazy pride and resentment towards each other was probably my favorite part of the episode
He’s so good!
I loved how Grover talked to Ares about all these deep cut wars like he was a washed up actor or something, it was hilarious!

I agree 100%
Adam portrayed Ares perfectly omg it's so camp, that's how Rick's gods are supposed to be! So happy with this week's episode
First "seaweed brain" 😭😭😭

I rly appreciate how quickly u get these out !!! it feels like im able to react to the show with a friend after watching it lol, so thank u :)
Thank you so much! Appreciate it!

Percy has more experience in the real world. Annabeth has been living in the camp and has experience with the gods.
I stopped watching Wrestling in 2006 but Edge was always my favourite wrestler. Adam Copeland was a great choice to play Ares

this was the best episode by far
It was really good! Idk about the best, but loving the progression of the show!
This episode actually had a post-credits teaser
The guy who helped Annabeth is the blacksmith god Hephaestus

I expect that during them going back to Aries with the Shield she gave it back.

It's the Rated RRRRRRRRR SUUUUUUUUUUUUUPERRRRRRRRSTATRRR, EDGE!!!!!!
On this day, I see clearly....
Now he is wrestling in AEW, using his real name Adam Copeland
@@TheDestroyerX Yep, but he will always be Edge to me and I'm just used to calling him Edge. And I'm glad he got to keep Metalingus as his music
Dude no the FREAKIGN RATED R SUPPPPPPERSTAR is in the show! Love EDGE!
Yeaaaaaa
Edge is my all time favorite!
This ending threw me. It’s way to early for anyone in this show to know anything. I’m in uncharted territory for the moment and enjoying. 😂
I'm pretty sure he didn't find anything out 😭😭😭 there's no way he knows lol like literally no way, the show didn't build anything for him to know
