While I should have tried flying a shallower angle, my instinctive reaction was to release as it was only my second flight in this aircraft and didn't want to take chances. Watch the winch launch, as I release in the climb, lower the nose, and land straight ahead at the field. While this is described as a launch failure, it is not an emergency landing.
