And whether you intend to play it or not, I highly recommend this: STAY AWAY FROM THE FANDOM! It is riddled with spoilers.
Also, please keep in mind the content warnings of the game: anxiety, depression & suicide. They are serious and should not be ignored.
I'd argue that it's not quite perfect (the pacing is kind of wonky, and the combat is too easy in my opinion), but it is nonetheless my favorite game of all time. As for a perfect game, Chrono Trigger would foot the bill for it instead.
It’s extremely far from perfect lol but it’s an alright game and if you do both routes you get a lot of content for a game that costs like 20 bones

I am going to buy the game, and right now I'm just going over all the trailers, and I gotta say, you can instantly recognize that this is not a normal game. It is special, it has soul, it has a lot of charm and a lot of sadness to it. I'm very hyped.
Edit: 10 hours into Omori by now, I'm starting to really get the gameplay, and very hyped for what's ahead. For now the story is average, but I do realize that the main narrative is supposed to be basic, to lead into the darker, actual story. And even then, the characters are absolutely lovable and I've had a few bunch of chuckles. I also really love how they gave me a taste of the big mystery at the start of the game, and then left me craving for more, it really makes me want to continue playing it. I'm starting to really love this game.
Edit 2: sorry for not updating more often, but I'm 50 hours into the game and finished it. Just wow, I genuinely can't express how much this game has impacted me. It's not only a great story, it's a great story that you spent 50 hours of your life getting attached to.

Mari's humming of _the song_ gave me chills the first time I watched this trailer. It added such a human element to an already beloved piece of music, alongside the simple, sweet imagery Omori, Mari, and all the others in the periphery. Kudos to the woman who so eloquently mirrored that theme!

This is a perfect trailer
To those of you who have never played OMORI but plan to now, *go into it knowing as little about the game as possible! There's a reason this trailer is as vague as it is,* it's very difficult to explain anything without spoilers that could ruin a part of your experience! But if this trailer doesn't explain enough to convince you to get it, I'll give a spoiler free elaboration below
The main theme of the story is grief. The main theme of the gameplay is exploration.
The player character is a young boy who lives in two different worlds; one is fantastical and dreamy, the other is more like the world that we are familiar with. It's a similar premise to that shown in the book "Challenger Deep" by Neal Shusterman.
Many people claim that OMORI is a "psychological horror" game, but it really isn't. There are some scary parts, but that's less an effort to frighten the player and more an effort to immerse the player in how the main character feels. Emotions are very important to the plot, so much so that the battle system gimmick plays off of how different individuals in your party feel.
Even if the game doesn't grab you right away, please don't drop it before reaching the point in which you "name your character" (who has a canonical name). Just engaging in the main story, the runtime is around 20+ hours. Looking into secrets and sidestories to experience everything OMORI has to offer makes the runtime around 40+ hours. The pacing at the beginning feels slow, but that's because it needs to lay down a proper foundation for the highly detailed world and rich narrative to come.
I'd say that if you haven't gotten far enough to meet the parallel characters that exist in both worlds, you haven't played long enough to get an idea of how good the game is!
Your doing the good job my guy

Instant favorite. If you haven't played it, AVOID SPOILERS. Even if you think you already got spoiled, keep avoiding them because this game WILL surprise you.
(WARNING: jerk in the replies trying to spoil some bits).
Is it really a "game" if narrative is all that carries it? What about the mechanics that make it a game? And if there is no inherent mechanism that makes it a game then why not just watch a long play on UA-cam? What is there to "play" if it is just an experience to consume like a film or book? Why should someone have faith to play said game if merely investigating what they are purchasing is an act of spoiling the experience?
You will be playing as a small child.
@@ichabodcrane6044 Oh shut up it IS a game but one can't get the mechanics spoiled the same way as the story.
That said, the mechanics are very strongly connected to the storytelling. OMORI would NOT work as a film nor a book.

Hearing Mari's voice makes me feel like everything will be okay... Idk it just feels like sun shines brighter when she's around
How dare you do this to me
OMG WAIT
THE HAIR START TURNING BLACK AT THE END IM SCREAMING A
ugggghhh Mari's hair going from blue into black and white is EVERYTHING.
The beautiful humming of Do You Remember? and the fact that Omori is the first full character we see...oh baby, the chills
Her humming that theme (allegedly the game's overall motif) of all things made me cry
@@ventusse ngl, I almost felt the tears hit me like that too :,)
@@GCM1969 fancy seeing you here, mik!
yo its nice seeing you here, i just remembered its going to be the omori anniversary soon
@@foxtrapandendo7541 Ig where Omori goes, I follow lol. It's crazy to think the game's turning 1 already
Having omori on the switch adds 1000 more years to my life span
True
I agree! Considering playing it on PC took 500 years off my life I'm gonna need some of those back lol
It took away 900 years from my lifespan, I'm currently using Persist just to live
I remember watching this for the first time, reading the comments (already knowing that OMORI was a psychological horror) and thinking that the song Mari was humming was where everything went TO SHREDS. I was wrong and right in the best ways possible.
Day 124 of watching this video every day until OMORI gets released to switch. I WAS WRONG IT RELEASED TODAYYYYYYY
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
:yippee:
depression but now its portable
The switch is now something
Anyone notice Mari’s hair color transitioning from purple to black? And the shape of it… If you know, you know.
The shape, too
you can even see the eye in the last few frames
👁🗨
Mhm…
it looks like… something…
but im not sure what it is 🤔
Nintendo/Omocat: Spring 2022!
Me In Summer 2022: *Are You Sure About That?*
if you are going into to this blind....just stay blind
Me? I played it 2 times, watched 1 person playthrough twice, watch countless of youtube videos discussing this game
and curently watching someone else's playthrough as I contemplate playing it again on my computer

and I am still going to buy and play the switch version. =')
loving how the final frames of mari's hair look like..... you know.... *something*

Something... behind you....
can someone explain
@@driftingthruspace I think it’s better to play the game :)
@@driftingthruspace It's spoilers if you haven't beaten the game, so if you intend on doing so please do not ask for explanation
I literally rewatched each of Omori's trailer the night before this and thought to myself: I can't wait until a switch port of this game!
lying in bed, close your eyes
and you Leave this dream and welcome to white space, you've been here for as long as you remember.
Last word

bro ur going a bit to far here 💀💀
Seeing extra omori stuff always makes me super excited, this game is the most beautiful thing to ever appear on the internet
oh yes, one of my favorite games, OMOR
(video description)
WOOOOAHH YEAHHH BABY!!!! THIS IS WHAT ITS ABOUT! THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR
Imagine being 8 and being like “mommy I want this” and ending up with trauma
i love how they dont mention its a horror game on the website they say its a indie role playing game so ppl gonna buy it thinking its undertale pt 2 and there in for a suiprise
My cousin told me that this is one of the best games of 2021 that you probably never heard about because it was a Steam exclusive. He said that if I love amazing story-driven games that this will be right up my alley. I can’t wait to see what all of the fuss is about
Fair warning, it gets real dark in places. But if you can handle it, go for it. Also, don't look up anything, because the story is even more easy to spoil than Doki Doki Literature Club's.
I was beginning to doubt a Switch release ever happening.
And then I screamed when I saw that lightbulb.
same, probably every omori fans reaction when we saw that damned light bulb. almost had an heart attack i did not expect it to happen
(SPOILERS BELOW)
I hate how no one is commenting about how near the end, Mari's hair becomes gray, and on the last frames, it takes the shape of Something.
10 seconds in and i already had a tear in my eye and a pain in my heart. Looking forward to playing this again on release.
Now you can be emotionally destroyed at the bus stop, on toilet, and at the dinner table!
This is the first time i heard Mari's voice, now i know the reason why Sunny always feels calm whenever she's around with him or likes her voice
This game is going to be fun and colorful, for anyone who's reading this comment
Yeah, there won't be any jumpscares, or t-traumatic e-e-experiences, or...
*breaks down sobbing*

Yeah, uh, good luck with the real game! 😀👍
After you finished the story it will make you feel SOMEthing, alright?
I just Imagine parents buying this and the Kids are gonna be traumatized by the jumpscares
i've been following omori for so long, and seeing this is just amazing :']
This is the first thing that i've seen when i opened youtube , and yelled " W H A T " like , already ? It got this popular ? Not that i'm complaining, just never thought nintendo would do this.i mean omocat deserves it , they made a masterpiece which deserves attention.
It was supposed to be a 3ds version but it got changed since that system died
nintendo didnt do anything, this was one of the kickstarter tiers. has been planned for switch since launch
omori is more popular than you might think
@@reckneps I think they mean Nintendo choosing Omori to be the game for this Indie World, and promoting it on their official channel.
@@BasilOmoriFan all trailers from the indie world and directs are reuploaded individually after the premiere.
I’ve seen this game floating around the game community for some time but never quite payed attention. But everyone is hyping it up in the comments so I will be buying this. Hoping it’s a good one. 🙂
Fair warning: The game is a horror game, so expect creepy elements and some jumpscares. It also covers sensitive topics like depression, anxiety, and suicide, with suicide being shown on screen at some points.
You won't regret it I promise you
Are you liking it so far
Pls tell us how you felt after finishing it lol
