Growing up I grew a passion and hobby for cars. Just last year by God's blessing I was able to get my dream car. This year I even took the car to a bunch of shows. However as of recently I've been feeling conviction from The Holy Spirit. Showing me how in reality I'm just a people pleaser. I'm a people pleaser by showing off and flexing on the gram. The conviction is so intense that I'm thinking of even selling the car and just stepping away from the car culture. I realized now that it's all vanity. Now my desire is just to really know Jesus personally and just follow His will. Yet it's so hard! May you guys please pray for me? I'd really appreciate it! Lord, please help this person with all their problems. Although their solutions won't just magically fall into their hands, please reveal the solution to their problem. Please plant in them the seed of revelation and grow in them the desire to follow You instead of the world. Please guide your sheep on the narrow path, not the wide one. Steps: 1. Dip: you don't care/ignore what the world says about you. 2. Ship: Jesus pursued relationships in order that they may be saved, not to make a friendship with people pleasing. 3. Flip: Doing what no one expects. A result of this is flipping the names the world will call you for following God and allowing the Lord to use those names as something beautiful and fascinating.
Worrying about how I look is keeping me from pleasing God, and making me please other people. I keep on turning to all these things, some which are not inherently bad, like working out, eating healthy, getting good sleep, etc, but it's becoming my number one. I push God out so I can turn to the world for what I think will work, but sometimes it just leaves me empty. Proverbs 3:5 says to "Lean not on your own understanding". Leaning on my own understanding of what I think will make me feel better. Leaning on my own understanding of how if I do XYZ I can get, acquire, be "fulfilled" by ABC. Leaning on my own understanding that all these potions, lotions, serums and cream will make me beautiful, even though I am the most beautiful version of myself in God's eyes. It's all just a loop, over and over. It's all so hard. I worry too much, and I need to cast my anxieties on him. Thank you Alex for all your vids and your easy to remember steps.

I have been called a people pleaser a quite a few times in my life, however UNTRUE, I am pleasing to be around, That does not make me a people pleaser. I think most people are non-believers so often times culture has different definition of what people pleasing is compared to the Bibles definition.

I’m people pleading by letting people like my friends make fun of my for my love for Christ and being a Christian. I tend to let people walk over me and I please them do to fearing abandonment from past trauma. I’m slowly letting those people go tho and putting less energy into that hateful lifestyle. I still need to learn and grow but hopefully I become less of a people pleaser and just please Christ ❤✝️
That’s because you need to build a defense for the word and you haven’t done that yet so they walk over you. 1 Peter 3:15 teaches us: “but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”

You don’t have to be perfect to tell people to quit sinning. Although it may seem hypocritical, let them know that they are not alone and that you may struggle with it as well and that God is with everyone always. Improve together, and push towards Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen!! ✝️

You do know that past trauma only exists today because you are keeping it alive?
