The thing about the Joker is that he's crazy and out of all of Batman's enemies, he's main one. The reason he do what he does is because he's trying to prove to everyone most of all Batman that even the most sane person can lose their s**t and go crazy after having a bad day which is why he did several messed up things. In the comics, he tortured and killed Jason Todd (aka the second Robin) and shooting and crippling Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) just to hurt her father. But the number one mess up thing he did in a alternate universe was cause Superman's downfall into a villain when he tricked him into killing his wife Lois who was pregnant with his baby and setting off a nuclear bomb in his city. Even though the Joker is crazy, believe it or not, it was proved that Carnage from the Spiderman series/Venom movies is craziest than the Joker. The thing about Twoface that they didn't show in the movie is that in the comics he suffers from a split personality.

Great film. Heath Ledger portrayal of the Joker was the best. Every scene he was in was the best moments. Everytime Batman and Gotham had Joker he was one step ahead of them. From him changing his story to how he got his scars, the interrogation scene with him and Batman and the hospital scene with him and Harvey Dent. Great moment of Harvey saying you either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain in which ends up being his fate. As well great scene from Batman realizing if the citizen of Gotham knew the truth of Harvey who's presented as the White knight has become a villain that he takes the blame for his death. In which shows Batman true character. One of many reasons why Batman is my favorite superhero and why he has some of the best villains like Joker. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay Journey Marie Reacts.
7:03 "I know I should've watched _Batman Begins_ before this, which I only figured out now... so let me know if I should go back and react to that!" 😯 Oh! _God._ Yes. Absolutely. I mean it's Batman's origin story, and in making it, Chris Nolan made a couple _incredibly_ bold choices. Batman has a _wide range_ of adversaries, and the most popular among them tends to be the Joker. This being the case, one would expect a Batman franchise to pit the two of _them_ against each other. He didn't do that. He pitted our hero against someone incredibly formidable, but not the Joker. _Not_ starting with the Joker was an incredibly bold choice. Starting with _this_ adversary instead was _another,_ and he managed to make it into a hit.
I'm sure someone must have already said this, but the reason you didn't get to see Batman's origin is because this is the middle film in a trilogy. The first film (Batman Begins) deals with his origin. The final film is The Dark Knight Rises.
5:42 "Like, 'Why are you trying to impersonate me? You could never be me.'" And what's more, given the _incredibly_ dangerous people who gun for Batman, they take their lives into their hands when they _try._
6:11 "What gives you the right? What's the difference between you and me?" "I'm not wearin' _hockey_ pads." Besides, didn't you fellows take initial _inspiration_ from him?
48:03 Here, we have _another_ popular Batman antagonist; Two-Face. Consistently, in one Batman canon after another, Harvey Dent starts out as the Gotham City District Attorney, and then experiences a _horrifying_ sequence of events that transforms him in this way. One way or another, the left side of his face always ends up horribly burned, and he takes to relying on a coin toss to decide everything. That's the Scarecrow, the Joker and Two-Face. Three popular Batman antagonists in one movie.
33:54 "Why can't she be with him _while_ he's Batman. Like, what's the big... Is she scared that somethin' 'll _happen_ to him?" This is something they established in _Batman Begins,_ but one reason is that Batman takes on _extraordinarily_ powerful, unscrupulous people who would not hesitate to get to him through the people he loves. That's why he has to keep a secret identity, and in so doing, keep it a _secret._ There's this old saying that three people can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Batman/Bruce Wayne has to keep a _tight_ lid on his secret, and keep to a _minimum_ the number of people who know it. And, really, this is good sense in _general._ If _you_ have a secret you don't want to get out, and there are people you know that you have known since before either of you could remember, whom you trust, but the secret does not depend on them knowing about it, don't tell them. Practice this ethic.
Hi Journey. This is the first time I have commented on your site. You should know most superhero movies are origin story specific. You have selected the second of the Christopher Nolan trilogy series, so Batman Begins will answer most if not all your questions. Enjoy!
43:37 that punch was very much real. Christian Bale, at that point, was pulling his punches, as he incredibly muscular. Heath Ledger wanted the punches to be real, but Warner Bros refused, as they would lose insurance and didn’t want to risk a lawsuit. The last punch was accidental, which is why Ledger made that laugh. Bale appreciated what Ledger was going for, as they are both method actors. Ledger asked director Christopher Nolan for Batman to kick him in the face in the interrogation scene, but Nolan decided against it, as Nolan thought it would be too much.
actually kinda cool you seeing this before batman begins. you don't really need to see that one first, in fact it might even be cooler watching the first one next to see how he started up. But there was no crazy story continuity required to see this one. The only big diffrence is you will see Rachel is a different actor in the first movie.
Couldn't disagree more. The continuity between BB and TDK is the story of how Batman matures and is challenged at the height of his journey, and the BB story provides the context of how tragic the TDK events are. Also, you can't watch TDKR without BB as that film bring the whole Bruce Wayne story full circle, and you can't feel the cathartic closure without knowing where his story began.
The Dark Knight (2008) was beyond the best all time movies ever ❤️🔥🔥this film made history especially with Heath Ledger‘s performance as the Joker received massive critical acclaim which he was deserving with that Oscar!! RIP Heath Ledger what a phenomenal actor he was & 28 years old fuck it sucks he was young!!! Great reaction Marie❤one question are you Spanish by any chance?? I’m myself half Puerto Rican as well! The reason why joker is so "anonymous" is because there is a theory that the joker is supposedly a former soldier that the government tried to get rid of. More of a special ops type of soldier. That's why joker is surprising good at hand to hand combat, good with every weapon he holds and why he has such amazing planning.
9:33 "He tryin' to make her jealous." Oh, no. That would be a _petty_ thing to do. No, here, we're seeing this individual play into his Bruce Wayne persona. Batman is his _secret_ identity. But to hide it, it's not enough to wear a mask and a suit when he fights crime. It's not enough to conduct investigations and run down leads. He has to make the absolute _most_ of it by endowing Bruce _Wayne_ with the kinds of traits one would _never_ attribute to Batman. Batman is the ultimate crime-fighting badass. Bruce Wayne, on the other hand, is a wealthy, international playboy. This man has figured out that he has to develop _both_ personas in order to protect the fact that both men are one and the same.
20:05 "Oh, _he_ is such a show _off."_ He's a _playboy._ Yeah. He understands that if Bruce _Wayne_ dominates the headlines, it will draw attention away from _Batman._

Well, a lot of people complained when this one came out because a different actress played Rachel in the first movie. Oh Journey, definitely watch Batman Begins now. That was a great one too. Of course, nothing really holds up to Dark Knight. Getting to see this trilogy in the theater definitely was an experience. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure this was one of the first films made specifically for the imax experience. It was incredible! Hopefully you'll get to see it for a re-release there or something.
Christian Bale is beyond amazing actor, yes American Psycho was terrifying!! But he’s also good in the movie, Harsh Times he was so aggressive in his performance💯

R.I.P. Tiny. Watching Bonanza, Friday and Gilligan's Island sorta depressing lately. It's easier to count who's still with us... except Bonanza. I think the entire cast transitioned. To me, Batman and Joker are the physical embodiment of Order and Chaos. One can't exist without the other Gary Oldman, Commissioner Gordon, is a brilliant actor! Should check him in The Book Of Eli and Leon: The Professional.
Crazy how both Joker and Harvey are "the villains" but in reality they're a product of society, the joker even as insane as he might seem speaks a lot of things that actually make sense and Harvey with his coin, at first he'd controlthe outcome but after the accident he left it to 'chance/luck' which honestly is better than how many people in control nowadays act, they only care about their pockets, their families n their friends/allies so in a movie yeah they were villains but in reality they'd be "antiheroes'. Not sure if you've watched the Joker movie, then you'd get what i'm talking about.
you should do Batman Begins then The Dark Knight Rises to complete the Christopher Nolan trilogy then maybe react to Batman: The Killing Joke, based on the graphic novel that influenced Heath Ledger’s Joker & Matt Reeves’ The Batman 🥰🥰🥰
This version of The Joker was a soldier who was trained in psychological warfare which who eventually became a P.O.W which stands for prisoner of war and the government chose to forget about him and then he became The joker
Yes there was a origin story to Batman which was provided in the first movie in the trilogy, BATMAN BEGINS. However you picked the best of the three to watch. So you might be interested in seeing how this franchise started or ended. Be warned that you will very likely not enjoy those as much as this one. As to the Joker, the movie you saw prior to this one did not provide Joker's origin story to this one. It was made up for those who like origin stories. But with a character like the Joker it is best not to provide an origin story. Best rather to let him be mysterious as it makes him seem much more dangerous if you don't know where he is coming from, Nolan made a conscious effort to play on that mystery by not providing a back story and he was right in doing it. One thing you might do though now that you have seen the two portrayals of Joker is weigh in on which you liked better, Heath Ledger's Joker or Joaquin Phoenix's Joer. Your inquiring fans want to know.
1:02:34 There we go. 1:02:58 There we go. The fact is, Journey, whether to _kill_ a single individual or a group of people is not something ever practiced in the name of _democracy._ The moment a group starts to _vote_ about it, it's not really accurate to call that group _democratic._ Democracy is about embracing as one's highest ideal the treatment of _other_ human beings in line with their innate value as human _beings._ There are a _number_ of countries in the world that have, in fact, _abolished_ the death penalty. Every single one of them is a _democracy._
24:36, up until this moment I thought Heather Ledger was going for a mad cap laughable interpretation of the Joker like Jack Nicholson. But in this moment it stopped being funny. This capricious mofo is terrifying I was on the edge of my seat in the theater. This moment is why for me Heath Ledger played the definitive version of the Joker. This is the Clown Prince of Crime who scares other criminals in Gotham. This is the dude that some of the most hardcore members of Batman’s rogues gallery steer clear of working with.
*Hey Journey Marie, how are you liking this series? I'm in the third movie in this series as one of Bane's henchmen (I still haven't watched since we shot in 2011).*
Let me just start by saying this: i love your reactions. I found you through the 2pac songs and interview reactions and then i watched your movie reactions. But with that being said its sad that you just jumped straight into the second movie in this batman triology without watching the first one (batman begins)🙂. You would also get a lot of back story and so on for some of the characters and how they know eachother from the first movie and so on so yeah i think you should react to that to😁
Great reaction, Journey Marie and yes, you should watch Batman Begins BEFORE you watch ANY further Batman movies. Knowing Batman's history is not the same as seeing it happen. Anyway, you know that scene when the Joker invades that party in Bruce Wayne's condo? Harvey and Rachel were talking in a back room. Harvey asks Rachel to marry him YET again lol and she says she doesn't have an answer. Harvey says, "Just tell me it isn't Wayne. The guy's a complete..." AND AT THAT MOMENT, Bruce Wayne walked up behind him, rendered him unconscious and took him to a closet to hide him there. Rachel says, "What are you doing?" to Bruce who at that moment, SHOULD'VE said, "You heard him. He was about to call me an a$$hole. F*ck this guy". lmao Then, when Jim Gordon came home after making his family think he was d*ad, he woke up his son. His son asked him, "Did Batman save you, daddy?" Gordon answered, "Actually, this time, I saved him". His son should've said, "Boy, I think you're lying, boy" lmao 🤣🤣🤣

Hopefully you'll get to see it for a re-release there or something.
The scene of Joker clapping in the cell was improvised
Christian Bale is such a good actor. You should watch his other movies like American Psycho!
Christian Bale is beyond amazing actor, yes American Psycho was terrifying!! But he’s also good in the movie, Harsh Times he was so aggressive in his performance💯
Already loveee that movie
People in the comments probably already told you but the Joker intentionally gave Batman the wrong address that's why he went to Dent and not Rachel
Love you and yore reaction ❤🤗🙏🏼
Iam still waiting this films🤗
1. KICKS (2016)
2. Dope (2015)
3. Lone ranger (2013)
4. Barbershop 3 the next cut (2016)
5. White man can't jump
6. Get rich or die tryin
7. Den of thieves
R.I.P. Tiny.
Watching Bonanza, Friday and Gilligan's Island sorta depressing lately. It's easier to count who's still with us... except Bonanza. I think the entire cast transitioned.
To me, Batman and Joker are the physical embodiment of Order and Chaos. One can't exist without the other
Gary Oldman, Commissioner Gordon, is a brilliant actor! Should check him in The Book Of Eli and Leon: The Professional.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Batman movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Oh shoot. Did you forget Batman Begins? That would be the 1st of this franchise, The Dark Knight being the 2nd, and then The Dark Knight Rises.
RIP heath ledger the joker this movie is amazing love the video Marie stay motivated Dream big 1 mill on the way
This version of The Joker was a soldier who was trained in psychological warfare which who eventually became a P.O.W which stands for prisoner of war and the government chose to forget about him and then he became The joker
"Please be advised, clowns are hostages. The doctors are active targets"
2020's...
I’m sorry 😂 but 18:22 your reaction was priceless 😭
Batman thought he was going for Rachel. Joker told him the wrong address
Great reaction 🔥💯💯🔥
Nigga its been 10 minutes😂
@@R90909 he knows. they're always great. 🔥💯
@@YoureMrLebowski love your channel

Ey Journey hype to see u get into this. Also dope Ichiraku tee
Should've started with Batman Begins, Then this film DarkKight, Then DarkKnight Rise. The 3 films are a Trilog By Christopher Nolan.
How she gonna watch this before Batman Begins? Wtf
She probably didn’t know!
Obviously I didn’t know about that movie
1:02:34 There we go.
1:02:58 There we go.
The fact is, Journey, whether to _kill_ a single individual or a group of people is not something ever practiced in the name of _democracy._ The moment a group starts to _vote_ about it, it's not really accurate to call that group _democratic._ Democracy is about embracing as one's highest ideal the treatment of _other_ human beings in line with their innate value as human _beings._ There are a _number_ of countries in the world that have, in fact, _abolished_ the death penalty. Every single one of them is a _democracy._
It's cool that you reacted to this film, but to not start at the beginning of the series is kinda tragic...
Not really, just a mistake
18:20 Journey was jumping her ass off during this review. 😂😂😂
REST IN PEACE HEATH LEDGER aka the joker 🙏
Great reaction and ps love the baby hairs
Thank you!! 😁
Hello Marie u will love Logan
24:36, up until this moment I thought Heather Ledger was going for a mad cap laughable interpretation of the Joker like Jack Nicholson. But in this moment it stopped being funny. This capricious mofo is terrifying I was on the edge of my seat in the theater.
This moment is why for me Heath Ledger played the definitive version of the Joker. This is the Clown Prince of Crime who scares other criminals in Gotham. This is the dude that some of the most hardcore members of Batman’s rogues gallery steer clear of working with.
One day, you may want to watch two other great action movies that I highly recommend. One is Leon The Professional and the other is The Negotiator.
This is the 2nd movie in the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy. You have to go back the movie Batman Begins which is literally his origin story.
The best comic book movie ever!!! Not up for debate.
*Hey Journey Marie, how are you liking this series? I'm in the third movie in this series as one of Bane's henchmen (I still haven't watched since we shot in 2011).*
That’s so cool! & I’m loving it so far😁
Let me just start by saying this: i love your reactions. I found you through the 2pac songs and interview reactions and then i watched your movie reactions. But with that being said its sad that you just jumped straight into the second movie in this batman triology without watching the first one (batman begins)🙂. You would also get a lot of back story and so on for some of the characters and how they know eachother from the first movie and so on so yeah i think you should react to that to😁
I don’t think it’s sad, it was just an honest mistake😁thanks for watching & supporting🙏🏼

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: yaaaaaaaassssssssss 😂
Great movie 🍿🎥🎬💯
Bruce has to put on the bad boy rich spoiled image to ensure no one ever connects him to Batman
Awesome movie reaction as usual … Wait till you see the most recent joker movie with actor Joaquin Phoenix !
I have & loved it!!
THIS IS A AWESOME BATMAN 🦇 A REAL CLASSIC MOVIE 🎥🍿 I LOVE UR REACTION I THINK OF AMERICAN PHYSHO TOO BOO LOL HILARIOUS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂❤Love UR REACTION
F*ck this guy". lmao
Then, when Jim Gordon came home after making his family think he was d*ad, he woke up his son. His son asked him, "Did Batman save you, daddy?" Gordon answered, "Actually, this time, I saved him". His son should've said, "Boy, I think you're lying, boy" lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Great reaction. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend the movie Children of Men. Thanks for the videos!
