They really did well with those separate generator sets . Unlike relying on the engine to power the whole train, what used to happen was ,once the engine unhauls the entire train will be on a blackout. This time around the engine would unhaul and go to wherever it wants for hours, but the train will have power and passengers would not be in convinced 👍🏿. Otherwise kudos to those beautiful videos Mr Kachamba, we love you ☺️🤗😚
This is so beautiful 🥹🥹I got your comment from Facebook, always loved trained but never had the opportunity, thinking of trying from Lusaka to Kafue one of these days.
Thanks brother for the video. GRZ need to invest heavily in the railway sector. Prof Chirwa should be engaged again to help in the modernisation of the railway line.
some times I forget we have these trains the really need to be rehabilitated , as can remove the trucks off the highway. Ultimately we should move to SGR tracks to link to Tanzania. Think that will be the first step this has to come through public private investment.
for an old-built railway 30 Kilometers per hour is actually not that bad at all... pretty much the average in the former USSR for most tertiary routes... in much of the less developed railway infrastructures of the world it is quite a bit less than that. maybe 20 km/h or less when you include all the stops, often as little as 15 km/h on single-track sections.
Hey, I thought you had a gimbal. Hows that affected your vlogs? Considering getting one but am unsure of it being just a worst of money or might be useful.
I do have a gimbal, but I never used it during this trip. It's very helpful in many situations and would be even on videos like this on moving trains or buses. If you do a lot of videos while on the move either walking or in a vehicle, be sure to buy it.
The same old station, the same diesel engines, coaches and their colours. Nothing much has changed in my country on railways infrastructure investment. Ethiopia, Kenya and now Tanzania have modernized. Please call Chinese to help for modernization of our railway system the same you did for airports all over the country.
You ZR should build morden stations not the colonial ones we are seeing, we are not in colonial mind you, try to move with time, source the money from the government if you don't have or come up with renovative ideas to raise money to build morden structures, how I hate to see that structure in Lusaka as if it's in mumbwa and not the capital city 😮.

Thanks a lot.
I never knew they used to use the locos for power. The arrangement now is brilliant.

It would be a great thing if the prof came back. He had a good vision and great plans.

Is there is direct route from Livinstone to kapiri for my trip to Dar Es Salaam
Yes, there is a train that begins in Livingstone every Monday and ends in Kitwe.
Kapiri is along the way after Kabwe which is after Lusaka.
Sleeper class is how much from Ndola to Lusaka 😊😊
It cost me about K110.

Do these things have sockets to charge your PC and phone
Yes. The rooms in sleeper class have sockets.

omg they are selling stuff in the train :-)?
You can buy almost anything on the train. It's a market.

When I went to Botswana I was amazed at the beautiful railway stations. Lovely waiting lounges and so on. We need to get there.
