@@KumaoftheForest It's only been a year? Do you understand how long Animation takes? Now if they do not have a season out by 2022 then I can understand the scrutiny. It seems like they already had the story in place, and the Characters are obviously done so that saves time. But I believe animation projects usually take 2-3 years. If they are well funded and guided it can be shorter. No one should be doing what Japanese studios typically put their artists through and crunch out a 12 episode series in a year or less.

I think the key here is story and character consistency. I HATE with a passion characters that have brain transplants from scene to scene. In one scene they are suave and can do no wrong. Oh my god! The second I realized this was the same guy that did young justice and the DC character designs my jaw dropped. The character designs are amazing! I can't wait for this show to release!!
Same reaction when I found out he was doing Young Justice.
@@oriandthesleepytime God that second of animation that was shown here might look better than the entire animated intro. Not that it looked bad before but it looks so good now
I remember when the kick starter came out I said, "It'd be so cool if they got animated in the vein of batman and the DC universe." I might cry. They look SO good.

"He's in my trunk."
I hope they include the part where Scanlan literally shamed one of Percy's ancestors to re-death
That was one of my most favorite moments from Vox Machina. And I literally said to myself only Scanlan one of the greatest bards can shame the ghost of the ancestor to one of his party members back to death.
I still want my gag credits reel where it’s all Mathew Mercer!
We’re gonna see Thorbir fail spectacularly with Whil Wheaton’s cursed luck
I honestly love that Sam is reiterating that this animated series is designed for "GROWNUPS". I am confident they will accurately portray the darker aspects from Campaign 1. Keep it real! Give us that drama, blood, and heartbreak!
Omg when Sam talked about it being a show for grown ups they showed an image of the your soul is forfeit bit. I am so excited!!!
Wasn't "Your soul is forfeit" in the later fight with the old grandma?
@@Toporshik to my recollection it happened to a stage coach driver boy right outside the sovereign's castle, though I could be wrong. It's been a whileeee
@@Doc_Dead I’m pretty sure that was a different bit, the your soul is forfeit bit is where the people were hunting down Lilith, the pink tiefling wizard I believe she was. They were working for either her sisters or cousins, I can’t remember which. The stage coach boy, after either his fingers or his hand were blown off, can’t remember if it was his whole hand or not, I think he was let go, or at least not killed by Percy. I haven’t been able to watch all of Vox Machina, but I do watch a lot of clips and do a lot of “research” on google and the wikis :)
@@hannahnelson2588 I took the time to look it up and you're right! The forfeited soul bit is from ep. 25 (at about 3.08.10), has to do with killing the Broker and Lilith like you said :)
Nevertheless, getting angry messed up Percy in the show has me very excited to see. One of the cooler character arcs overall!
That shot at 7:02
Maaaan that is simply perfection. Love the personality that pops out, from Percy's noble arrogance to Scanlan's bravado to Vax's complete lack of caution.
Also, the "Your soul is forfeit" moment at 7:36 is spot on!
Vax's fallen, distraught face at 6:47 being able to just kill me in one fell swoop, LOOK AT THAT ANGST in just ONE EXPRESSION

It's listed as "final animation" the fact that parts of this show have been completely animated already is a great sign.
Yes but seemed low fps. (Like 12 rather than 24)
@@RobertMcGovernTarasis I noticed that too. That's a style of animation. I'm curious if that's the style they're going with for the show.

They GOT to include the Gift Shop scene with the unconscious guards.
The reason Grogg doesn’t do shopping , lol..
Given when that happened it'd be probably seasons 3 or 4 if they get there.
season two is supposedly the briarwood arc in the I want to say 25-35 episode range so a few more season would be needed but yes, that is needed if we get to Tarry
@@DragonsDungeon They said that the Briarwood arc is going to be Season 1, after that will probably be the Chroma Conclave. You can see an image of the scene where Percy is terrorizing the kid working for the Briarwoods in the video.
epic pointless moment!
I'm so happy that the show is explicitly for an adult audience. Not having blood or swearing would just take out so much from it
As part of their contract (and a bet Travis lost) they were obligated to make a video all about how awesome Phil is.
Lmao yep, and they used the opportunity to include some nice little nuggets or us to munch on until the actual show releases
This might just be the single best reason to get an amazon prime subscription I've ever heard.
I was so scared about the artstyle being "off" with the series, but this looks just perfect based on the few clips and character designs.
It kind of reminds me of the art in Invincible, I'm excited as hell
@@zanmorn1139 Let's just hope the animation is better (I am aware Titmouse didn't animate Invincible and is a capable studio).
I 100% agree, Vox Machina definitely have that super-hero feel to them that I think a lot of dnd parties have and so this art style just melds with them perfectly. If we ever get a legend of the mighty nein tho, I think maybe inspiration from some darker things like the Castelvania animated series on Netflix would fit a little better
@@griffinbryant5016 Mighty Nein in a Castlevania style would be amazing
yes but it's kind of sad how they call it "japanese" / "anime" when that is the VERY typical KOREAN art style. Even SUng jin ahn is KOREAN and he is the first person in the credits! and the DC animations are animated by KOREANS who have mastered this art style. IF you ever thought "oh it looks like korra/avatar" WELL THATS CAUSE KOREANS popularized this artstyle. Western animation is too focused on the realism/facial features whereas Japanese anime exaggerates giant eyes and unrealistic bodily proportions in their artstyle. Korean art style is a perfect blend where the body proportions are normal and the face doesnt include too many lines. Its the perfect blend. I wish yall would credit KOREAN influenced art style in your videos!
This was originally imagined as simply a miniseries, but now we're looking at at least *two whole seasons!*
It was imagined as a 30 minute side story
08:45 how come this few seconds of animation already captured the casts roleplaying perfectly? Amazing
Some of them even look so much like the actors themselves in spirit. I mean, that's a total "Liam"
Listen to Matt at 7:00. He's talking about NPCs! Like, obviously they're going to be in the show, but just the fact that you know he's seen their designs by the time of filming this video is....ah!
Wow I love the subtle redesigns of the characters! It’s amazing how with the extra support of the Kickstarter they are able to go beyond the original quality of the Intro.
Same, the original Scanlan face felt a little weird and Vax seemed too broad. These are AMAZING.
5:33: Okay I can HEAR Grog’s voice in this art! This is so cool!
Something about percy and keyleth’s designs just made me yell “yes, that!!!” you can tell he really *understands* the characters
The same happened to me when I saw Vex and Keyleth side by side. Holy shit, he _gets_ them
Percy and Keyleth are absolutely amazing character designs. I dare say my favorite character designs in all of western animation to date, and the show hasn't even aired yet. The rest of the VM's designs are amazing too, but P&K is what I'm personally drawn to, aesthetically speaking.
I've known about vox machina but never watched it till two days ago and the character designs and overall art totally caught me Phil is literally a god
Keyleth is done just so.. Right. Its the one where I wasnt like "oh yeah this what I had in my head" it was like "OOHHH. THATS that character!". Her entire look just so her personality, something people lost out on with the livestreams. You can just tell that Keyleth is a lover first and a fighter second, doing her best in this big world. its just perfect.
Talk about character growth. Can you imagine getting to see that unfold? It's going to be epic! This is some Last Airbender levels of growth.
Like what Marisha said that animated Keyleth is just a button but OH MAN... To see the fury Keyleth? Especially if we get the Chroma Conclave arc?

8:47 THE FINAL ANIMATION HAS ME IN TEARS. I love this show, characters, cast, crew, story and I am so excited for it to come to life
The nine downvotes were obviously the Somnovem, jealous of Campaign One’s animation.
I now can't wait for the animation of campaign 2 and the somnovem arc in particular bc that will be BANANAS
Oooh a late night show staring the Somnovem where they talk about movies and music and tv shows would be amazing.
Or people who are tired of waiting for a project that might NEVER get released
@@KumaoftheForest It's only been a year? Do you understand how long Animation takes?
Now if they do not have a season out by 2022 then I can understand the scrutiny. It seems like they already had the story in place, and the Characters are obviously done so that saves time. But I believe animation projects usually take 2-3 years. If they are well funded and guided it can be shorter.
No one should be doing what Japanese studios typically put their artists through and crunch out a 12 episode series in a year or less.

I remember seeing someone say that the fans would love this series but it would never take off with the general public when it was first announced. The more I see, the clearer it is at how wrong that person is gonna be. This looks fantastic!
I think the key here is story and character consistency. I HATE with a passion characters that have brain transplants from scene to scene. In one scene they are suave and can do no wrong. They do something moronic because the story needs it to move forward. I am very confident the series will maintain the characters created by the CR gang.
@@brettloo7588 Uh oh. Don't get your hopes up. Doing something moronic is like, a CR staple. It might be out of character if they were smart all the time... lol

I'd rather like to see Bourassa's take on designing Campaign 2's characters. As just a little fun thing on the side to see how they'd all look in his style.
As much as I'd love to see that, it's not exactly something they can do without a lot of steps first and then it would look like more of a guarantee of an animated C2 than they're able to give right now.
