Louis Kemner well some of the stuff they have is probably really old or out of print. Most Anime figures are limited production, and are very hard to come by after release. So yeah it’d be a big yikes even if it were insured.
I'm impressed that your pets seem to know to/be coordinated enough to not to knock over the figures. Also, I'm guessing that you don't let children into the house. Between the adult content and the many breakable figures, it would be a nightmare! :)

Wow you really weren't kidding about making the most out of your relatively few detolfs (compared to the sheer number of figures). They're packed in! Giving me a few ideas about better utilizing my display space as I'm running out.
You and your partner have a very cool collection and it's so nice to see how supportive you both are of each other's collecting. I totally sympathize with all pet hair and dusting.
I wish we had more space and more display cases to spread some of them out. But I also love my curated shelves like the BRS shelf, the Madoka shelf and the Card Captor Sakura shelf. Seeing them grouped together makes me happy.

Only the best place! The shelter! They've got quality 1/1 scale doggos and even 1/2 scale and 1/3 scale if you want a smaller doggo! Some even have 1/1 scale cats!

I wasn't a blu-ray/dvd person until my met my fiance. He had a huge collection when we started dating and it grew from there. I had a collection of Disney blu-rays but not anime. So the collections combined and grew and grew!!

Impressive, though I do have a question. With such a large financial investment in all of this how do you protect it all? Do you have it covered under your home owner's insurance or under a specific policy?
We have home owners insurance but I'm not sure of the details of our coverage. Thing is a lot of these would be impossible to replace due to rarity.
This is what I worry about on occasion. A have a few figures and DVD box sets that are long out-of-print, and it would be very difficult for me to replace them if something were to happen.
Need more cats. Actually had 4 at 1 time now down to 1 and they never bothered the figures. Glad you found a partner who's into the hobby/mania/addiction. My wife tolerates it but clearly is not into it like me. You guys have more media than I but no doubt you soon will have more figures too. I'm downsizing bc I need the living space for.....living....gad, who knew? Almost tipped 1800 figurines total since starting 4/2012 but am downsizing. Goal is 900 before I croak. Secret to dusting: don't take them out of the box. Lesson learned from 1/64 diecast 18-wheeler big rig collection where 100s of diecast big rigs were on display all over the house. Then I got myself married. It took 6 months working 12 hour shifts to repack those rigs into their respective cartons before the big move. But, lo, I burned or pitched many of the cartons so repacking the loose rigs became a monumental PIA. Lesson learned from diecast applied to figurines: never, ever threw away those boxes. MFC: great site! I'm there too.

Anyone who plans to collect that many figurines could opt for moducase that prevents dust. It doesn't do justice for the figurine if it is all clutter like that as well and better keep them protected.

HOLY CRAP! I wish my wife would let me have anime figures and/or posters like that in my office! I have 2 figures and they are hidden in the closet because she freakout out when she saw them. She thinks its disgusting that I have figures of "children"! (I have an Ayanami and Asuka figures in their plug-suits) They are not real children! they are from a tv show! I have to be very careful when watching anime around her too. OMG all hell will break loose if there is a shower scene or if a girl grabs another girl's boobs. UGH! but... at least she plays some games and she is letting me 3D print a life-size iron man for the living room. I'll take what I can get at this point, I guess :S

The fact that you allow your husband to own and display fanservice and ecchi is amazing. My wife only allowed it to a certain extent. Bikini clad figures was the furthest I could go. Then my daughter was born and I had to chill on the ecchi.

Haven't spent that much yet for my collection. But, because of the Chrollo action figure quality that I got from senpaimart.com/collections/korekushon/products/chrollo-lucilfer-phantom-troupe-leader-action-figure amazes me. Maybe, I'll end up that way soon.
