Improve write performance with SSD extra over-provisioning
While almost all SSDs have shown consistent write performance degradation, QNAP's software-defined SSD extra over-provisioning helps sustain optimized SSD performance. It supports major SSD RAID configurations to improve random write speeds, with a constant performance boost of more than 100% for IOPS-demanding applications.
Extend SSD lifespan with higher endurance
Write amplification is an undesirable effect of SSDs, bringing challenges to flash memory performance and endurance. QNAP's SSD extra over-provisioning helps you combat write amplification by increasing the reserved space to SSDs. The lower the write amplification is, the better the SSD endurance performs for higher reliability and lifetime.

Definitely one of the best channels for QNAP Topics. Your Vids are much appreciated. Thank you!

FYI, for a small RAID 5 (5x2T) it takes 8 days to perform the test from 0-60. Maybe yawl more patient than I am, but yeah, no chance.

Thanks for your videos - immeasurably more helpful than anything from the factory support techs. Would you recommend an SSD disc replacement cache on a 4 bay NAS TS451U.? Cheers.

If I can choose (I have both on my desk), is it better to use 1TB or 2TB SSD?
    Isn't using 2TB a waste?

Does this test only work for RAIDed SSDs? I have a newly added single SN700 in my TS-435 that does not show up in the list of drives to profile against regardless of if it is flagged free or not. I've tried putting it in and out of being a cache accelerator or in and out of being a volume to see if that jostles anything and so far nothing. Tried a reboot too. I'm on the current QTS firmware.

TS-664, SSDs in the original slots and a QM2, none show in the tool even when "purple" and free. Same SN700s in 1TB (original slots) and 2TB (PCIe).
      Did you find a solution?

Don’t see this app in QNAP apps. Is it no longer available? Is it not available for QuTS Hero? Thank you.

Which 2.5" SSD would you recommend as Cache in an TS-231P with 4TB Seagate Ironwolf HDD, please?

@@QNAPUK I followed your advice to install another 4TB HDD and enabled RAID 1, thank you.
Is it possible und recommendable to connect an 2.5" SSD via USB to the NAS and configure it to be used as cache?
