If only 30% of YT guitar channels were as straight forward, no bullshit, get to the point while giving out genuine, useful information…. Ah, who am I kidding. That’s magical thinking. It’s why this channel is so special. Thanks, Jarrod, for all the hard work you put in. We’re all better consumers, better musicians for it.
IKM invested milllions in research and development and that paid, they now are a cooler brand than Kemper or Fractal! Love my ToneX pedals and plugin. Helix did also a great job bringing a full ecosystem (pedals+plugin)
One awesome thing I’ve discovered is you don’t even need a power supply, you can power it off your phone. Also there a few vids circulating on how you can use midi via your phone to select many presets!
I can't wait for this update! Talking about tiny pedal boards, imagine a Tonex 1 and a Boss GX-10. Use the Tonex for the main amp tones, the GX for all the before amp and after amp effects such as wah, volume, polyphonic tuner, slicer, etc. That would cover so much tonal territory. I'm going to try the slightly bigger version of the GX-100 and full sized Tonex, but still, that's not that big. Now comes the hard part: how to monitor the whole deal at home and how to power a 2x12 cab for other occasions. Honestly, the thought had occurred to me to pick up a used PRS MT-15 amp and plug this rig into the power section.
Tone X has really changed the game in just over one year ..... whatever is in development for future in modelers and whatever else I bet all companies are going back to their drawing boards💯
Can you audit/demo uploaded patches in Tine Exchange. Or do you have to download them to pedal to even hear what they sound like? Been asking this question for a while in multiple places and no one has an answer. It would suck so bad if you couldn’t just click one of the 20,000 uploaded patches on Tone Exchange and strum your guitar, and hear exactly what you’re about to download, or skip it because it sucked. I have a weird feeling you can’t listen to them before downloading since no one has an answer on tons of different UA-cam videos. I won’t be capturing anything but want to download patches that are killer. Mine arrives in a couple days but I’ve been asking all over UA-cam for a long time because I didn’t want one if I can’t audition/demo patches before downloading. I’ve heard the 20 stock patches , albeit on UA-cam only, and wasn’t impressed. I’ll also be using this for a small rig in a separate studio room where I don’t have my main gear. Will be using with a BOSS ME-90.
Great video but how are you switching between the three presets? Do they go in order from left to right? Lets say you are on the far left preset and you want to get to the preset on the right skipping the one in the middle? It would kind of suck if your on a overdrive channel (left) then you want to get to the crunch (right) but you got to stop by the center preset that has a clean. Seems like that would not be seamless switching. Please advise.
I have not heard a clean tone. Crunch more crunch & mega crunch. Everyone’s asking what is the sequence from crunch to mega and back again with the foot switch. Amazing little pedal.
Man. I’ve been watching your shows on Sunday and your videos the past couple months. I’ve learned a lot and I just want to acknowledge how much I enjoy your lead playing it’s incredible you should get more credit I think you’re better than petrucci. Especially how you rip notes off the dive bar. It’s innovative and rare. And your tone always brings the thunder. So yea! 🤘🏽🥷🏿
Wow, thank you so much!! You are too kind, sir. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos and learning from them. I really appreciate that. I'm learning something new every time I make a video as well. This is a lot of fun.
Thanks for the video. Sounding great. You have some incredible amps in back of you. I have love the Tonex One. However after doing the update the new effects do not work. I've tried a lot of different configurations on the audio settings. But thus far none of the effects are working.
Can I ask, when you are demoing around 3:00 in the video, which cab were you playing this through? I've been wondering which FRFR cab to use with the pedal.
@@akhtet I'm actually demoing a studio capture that I made on the tonex pedal in that part of the video. The studio capture has my Mesa 212 cab baked in. I'm listening to it through my studio monitors.
@@TONEWARSgearshow No. You'll just end up with 2 channels with identical information. Its mono. I'm going to say something that well upset quite a few people, but since you brought up stereo, you might as well get the truth. None of these guitar products that advertise as stereo, is really stereo. It doesn't apply. Stereo, when used in the context of audio, is a format. And like any format, rules apply. We don't hear in stereo, but we do see in stereo. The term comes from our eyesight. For audio, stereo only applies to sound that is recorded, and played back. Stereo is used to replicate what we hear live, so that playback is closer to fidelity. When you're actually playing an instrument and listening in real space, there's nothing to replicate. You are the live event. Stereo would only come into play if you want to record yourself playing an instrument, and play it back. A stereo recording will get you closer to the actual event. Most people will try to argue that 2 channels makes it stereo. That's the issue you mentioned above. If you split the signal, you just have 2 mono channels, so its not stereo. Others will argue, that something like an effects pedal is stereo if you have 2 channels, and the signal going to each channel can be different. Its a step in the right direction, but its still not stereo. A recording must be involved if you want stereo.

You’re my go to for product information for metal guitar players. Very good tone and presentation! Love your channel!
Thank you!!!! Made my day
"Is that an entire amazing sounding guitar rig in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" 🤣
Haha. Both?

I cannot wait for this update! I just got the anniversary unit and it came with some great sounds from the tone partners. I need this update tho.
I'm going to give this pedal a shot

Great demo. I'm excited about the new update and I have some of your profiles in the pedal already.
Thanks for commenting and thanks so much for picking up some of my profiles. Much appreciated.

Did you update the software and the pedal?
How do you change from lead back to crunch withou having to cycle past the clean?
You can just put them in the order that works best for you or just double tap to get past presets that you don't want to use.
@ okay, wasn’t sure how that works, thanks for the info and great job as always on the vids and content

Are the three presets only available in the update or is that something we already have access to?

Are you running a Wah into it?
Yes
great capture like usual, but kind of sucks that its in mono. to many other options to have stereo.
Thanks for commenting. I wonder if I used a TRS cable coming out of the unit if that would make it stereo? I'll have to experiment with that.
