HAHAHA 😂
I’ll be honest 16gb in 2 months is a red flag. Working in cybersecurity. There is absolutely no reason why you need that much data to be transferred from a bed.
Might be sending other traffic.
No kidding, I would assume max would be 0.3GB and that's a lot already. 16GB in two month seems extreme.
That's my UA-cam, plus Instagram, plus Gmail usage on my phone in two months.
That thing streaming 24 hour Truman Show.
If it didn't have the datacollection, always online to work, subscription thing, I'd seriously consider it. Lets hope more more competition for this comes out.
Just get a chilipad, much cheaper and doesn't have any of that data collection or sub crap. No wifi needed either.
@@TheAutumnNetwork nice, thanks. No way im paying for a mattress that doesn't work if their servers or my internet is down.
@@TheAutumnNetworkthey don’t sell them anymore
@@darealrulezbreaker9493sounds like HP printers lol. If you stop paying for ink subsription your printer stops working.
Climsom is a alternative
I'm happy to pay for this mattress and topper, but the membership fee turned me away from it.
17GB across 60 days is 290 MB per day. And assuming it only transmits data while it is in use, AKA sleeping, that's 37 Megabytes per hour. Since I assume there are no cameras on the sleep pod, that data must be sensor data. Yeah, super concerning.
Hey, Shervin! I love these new styles of videos! I mean, the B-roll is professional and that intro was catchy! I love how you make videos now, a significant improvement from 6 months ago! Keep up the great ideas and work!
They lost me on servers. If I can’t use it without a server I don’t buy it.
Agreed
I was curious how this thing worked and sure enough you provided all the information needed in an entertaining way. Thank you for your efforts on this one.
Mine arrives this week. Purchased during a Boxing Day sale. Thanks for the info.
How does this channel still not have more subs? It's awsome?
Great candidness here. Love the style. Things I can relate to from the video:
- I love to be as productive as possible
- I'm wide and oddly shaped
- "Adding the 2 inch memory foam. So far it's working - It's not working"
Shervin droppin on the weekend is just way better
Going to be a good day when the GOAT uploads!
This review is great, love your content! I've had the Eight Sleep mattress for a little under 6 months now, and the features are amazing. It has changed how I've slept, and changed my sleep behavior.
I agree it's annoying that you can't change the temperature without using your phone - i have the luxury of repurposing my old phone to just be on my bedside with night mode always on, a black wallpaper, and only have sleep-related apps on the home screen. That way I don't wake up from the really bright screen, and am not distracted by a bunch of apps pushing notifications when all I'm trying to do is change the Eight Sleep Temperature.
Autopilot is amazing, but so expensive... I hate that i have to pay for a subscription for this. But it's worth it to me.
How can you trust a review that he was likely paid for by the company that makes the product he's reviewing? He needs to be upfront about that in the video which he's not, at least within the first few minutes. Didn't bother watching the rest of the video.
Your other device that can't connect to your wi-fi may need a dedicated 2.4GHz network, which is simple to create in your router's admin control panel. Just make a 2.4GHz network with a unique name and try connecting that device. Thanks for the review!
Liking for the sound and effects 🔥
Someone might have already fixed this for you but you can separate your 2.4 ghz and 5ghz bands. Go in to your router settings (if you need help, type the model of your router with whatever you want to know about it into youtube search and surely you'll find something).
Anyway, change the name of the SSID of each band so they show separately on the network. You can give them separate passwords too. It's helpful if you have WIFI plugs or lighbulbs that only use 2.4ghz. I had to do this for my Mum so her IoT devices would work. 😊
love the idea, hate the membership price
How did this improve your HRV before and after? Love your videos
Is there any data to show the maximum range for room differential between the ambient temperature of the room and the temperature of the eight sleep? For example, if a room were 90 degrees, what is the lowest temperature you can expect from your eight sleep? Knowing this would help us to set our air conditioning temperature.
Shervin! You need a ‘health’ bedroom phone - old phone with a basic sim. No socials, no messaging, ALL health apps, inc. Eight Sleep, breath work and stretching, Spotify, etc.
That's a good idea, my smart phone really has ruined my sleep
Thinking this would be a good replacement for sleeping with the fan on
can you make a video about your configurations regarding the Garmin and AW Ultra you're wearing at the same time? I mean in regards of Health app and stuff so you don't get duplicates etc.
16.5gb of data over 2 months it is collected a lot more than sleep data, likely pulling all kinds of data from your network or other aspects. Each day should virtually be a text or log of some kind and should not be a requirement in the size of a few KB. The day I pay a subscription service to sleep in a bed I already paid for is the day hell freezes over.
Hey I just bought mine with your affiliate code I was wondering how do you keep your pod cover clean without using a sheet ontop of it?
Interesting, I have mine set much colder 62 - 58 -64. Some of the best sleep i've ever had in the past month since I got this thing. Thanks for the review!
u sound hot
Looks great. I would buy only if it didn't have the subscription thing. Subscription economy has ruined affordability for many
Love the review, lots of charisma. There's another thing that wasn't touched on for Eight Sleep, a negative factor that once you know the truth, will keep you from buying one. EMF (electro magnetic frequency) in the form of bluetooth and/or WIFI is damaging to the human body...but never moreso than at night when you are sleeping. The body communicates through small electrical impulses and WIFI interrupts those impulses. You should never sleep with the phone next to your bed unless it's in airplane mode. And worse, you should never, ever charge the phone next to where you sleep. You'd be shocked how much dirty electricity comes off the charging cable which can be measured with a meter. So the fact the Eight Sleep requires WIFI/bluetooth runs counter to anything it happens to be doing for you. Your sleeping area in particular should be as EMF free as possible in order to secure a good night's deep sleep.
In addition, blue wavelength light (which is what comes off your phone) shuts off Melatonin production in the brain and cells! So the fact that Eight Sleep requires you to click your phone on in the middle of the night, AND even have it next to you for 'easy' access, shows me that they have no clue what they're doing when it comes to sleep. They F'd themselves in more ways than one for anyone who knows what's what. Sorry not sorry Eight Sleep.
How long are the hoses? Does the pod has tobe right next to the bed?
I’m not paying a subscription fee to go to bed!
Seriously though, I hope they steer away from that business model. Just focus on expanding the product reach instead. If the product’s that good and the selling price is profitable to the company, it should harvest great results.
if you cancel you subscription then your mattress will hit 150 degrees and ruin your sleep !
Why dont people get creeped out that a company is collecting your sleep data and selling it?
Im old fashion...summer turn the air condtion and to keep the cost down put a small $12 fan by the bed and in the winter an extra blanket, flannel sheets and/or electric blanket.
KEEP LIFE SIMPLE!! 🥵🥶
Couldn't agree more. This looks interesting but I doubt the cost is worth any benefit it might have...
I hope you can answer this honestly. If I have access to regulate the precise temperature in my room at different times with a nest thermostat do I need the Eight sleep cover?
I have a 3-4 inch futon on a wooden platform. can I use the eight sleep without buying a new mattress, or I need a 10-inch mattress?
Excellent! Thank you
Thank you!!
The membership fee is a rip off. Maybe £5 a month max. But an option of £14 or £22 is a rip off. If it didn't have the monthly fee. I'd consider the subscription. Subscription model is the reason I didn't go with ring door bell and spent £1000 on eufy system instead. No sub required.
Can you suggest a sleep tracker for me? I’ve got significant sleep apnea but I also have awful insomnia. I’m exhausted. I want something that can monitor how well Cpap is working but I also want coaching for sleep apnea. What is best? Is it a combination? Or will a specific device work?
I love how many UA-cams are lying about this. You won't get much better sleep, waaste of $3000 plus you have to pay a membership monthly...
8 gig per month 😳... what the hell is it sending?!?!? Sleep data should be text based and should be able to be zipped and send in morning/nightly batch. 8 gig a of data a month is crazy.
Probably also listening
I'm definitely not interested in using wifi directly around me while I sleep, I have it turn off at night on a schedule. I definitely don't want anymore crap attached to my phone and absolutely not directly on my body. Also, having my sleep data being uploaded to a corporation's server isn't happening for obvious reasons when absolutely none of this is needed to simply choose what temperature I want while I sleep. I do love the idea of having temperature control on both sides as my partner is always cold and I'm always hot. Unnecessary App, Wifi, and other unnecessary and/or anti-privacy requirements just killed this product for me, but this inspired me to research and look elsewhere to see if any other companies are getting smarter about this; also the cost being higher than organic super high quality mattresses and other sleep devices is crazy. Great review either way, cheers.
just FYI, wifi cant hurt you, the power is too low. its basically the same thing as red light (electromagnetic waves), just weaker. You wouldnt hide from red light, would you? You have a lot of radio waves going through you anyway, which is pretty much the same thing too
Does your phones wifi have to be on all night? Don’t want those frequencies permeating throughout my body for hours on end.
What kind of pillow do you use coz the pillow can also affect ur sleep
It would be useful to compare your before and after data. Your other sleep trackers must've picked up something if you feel an improvement.
Agreed! Doesn't seem like a good thing to go through for the sake of the affiliate link ;)
Damn you Shervin! Why do I have to love every video and every product that you review? It’s got something to do with you and how awesome that you are. I’m sorry that you are single and that it made you 😢cry in the middle of the video!
I don't understand how this thing is using 8gb of data a month, that's a hell of a lot of data.
It is actually not that much data. It is 24.6 Kb/s
It's probably listening also
Very underrated
Hang on didn't LTT attempt this a while back???
Said its hot in NY in the summer. Silly Shervin. 😂
I must say, I have it, I had to get used to it...
The 'cold' is bit of a strange 'cold'... meaning, the bed doesn't really feel 'cold' as laying on the floor or something, but... you do feel it after a while... as a sort of 'extracting the heat' of your body.
1 slightly disappointing thing is the noise. All reviews say it's quiet, and that is mostly the case, till you hit the 'cold' or 'extreme cold' option, then... it makes really some noise, bit to much to sleep through (for me). As if you have a computer on all the time.
Same for me, I consider giving it back, it’s simply too loud for me
The fact that you camt change the temperature as soon as their servers are offline or my wifi is gone is a complete dealbreaker for me
9:30 really would love to see u do a tesla vid 🎉
Can this be used without the Subscription?
Does anyone know if this will work with a sleep number bed?
Seems cool but there is no reason that thing should require wifi and the subscription is annoying. I guess, the manufacturer uses all that data to optimize and improve their code by charging you $15/ month.
There’s no way that thing only uses $3/month in energy
Does it make any noise? Even like the lowest fan setting. Thank you.
It’s around 30-35 dB. I had one hub that emitted 60 dB so I got it exchanged for free. But the 30-35 db is annoying, because I am not used to any background noise when I sleep. I need to wear earplugs
Looks great wish it wasn't 5k CAD tho😅
Optimize ✨🤝
what on earth does it need to send 8GB of data for
Getting one on eBay
8GB of data per month! What is recording? An encyclopedia Britannica is only about 1GB of data.
Probably audio.
Does this device help with 40 degree heatwave during the day here In oz during the day of a 40 degree heatwave at night the temp hovers around 26-29 degrees with a humidity of 70-90
depends, do u have a platypus?
Platypus with a top hat
The biggest down side to this machine (and its a massive down side) is that it has to be connected to wifi and a server to work, it shouldn't need more than just a wall plug to work, sleep tracking should be optional. Edit.. MEMBERSHIP FEE?! forget it!
I am really would like one but I don’t want it to be connected, and I don’t want regular fees.
It is the way everything is today of course; meanwhile the smart house the movies decades ago promised me was an independent standalone system that the occupant could ask to perform tasks, not this constant connection to some evil corporations evil server.
Super expensive. It has benefits, but I 'll wait for some competition. I'm not gonna pay membership fee for sleep! rofl Commercializing health companies must be cancelled.
$2245 for a queen cover and you still have to pay a monthly subscription? Wow...lol.
8GB of data per month? That thing is recording as you talk in your sleep. :)
Why don't you just use conditioner?
What the heck is it sending that it needs 16GB of data!? Hells.
Interesting product, however they ruined it with the needless forced internet connection, of which 8 gigs a month leads me to believe they are sharing more data than needed for it's function.
The concept is great! But... Having to have bed-wifi and use eight-sleep servers is so lame. It's just a way for them to make more money.
I just checked the price. That itself is nuts. Then they want a monthly fee. Yeah, I’m done watching this video already.
Curious how you've had the pod 3 for 1000 days when it came out less than a year ago.
He meant 1,000 days in the quantum realm. Times different there.
Are there cheaper options?
Yes climsom
Why on earth does this thing need their servers to run?
Instead of memory foam try latex
8GB per month of data..... WTF are they tracking 😂😂😂
A mattress cover with a monthly subscription fee. What a stupid time to be alive 😂
Needs to have a non Y-Fi mode, Id buy one if they had a manual option.
I bought this super expensive mattress and it's been just over one year and the hub stopped working. I've contacted support but it's very very very frustrating so far because they have been zero help. I wouldn't recommend this mattress to anyone.
wifi in my sleep? I'm out.
Bruh!? How you gonna have an iPad right next to your bed 😂 gotta separate works from chill time
10:00 - You do have to pay a subscription to turn your door knob. It's called rent.
8GB/MONTH?????
Over $2k! $800 seems more reasonable.
00:27 Hydrogen peroxide is not distilled water
“You need to have WiFi, and you need to have money” 😅😂😂
I'd honestly consider this if it didn't have a subscription...
8 gb per month?! what are they doing with 270 Mb per day?!?!
Listening maybe?
Interviewed with 8 Sleep was more than qualified for the job even though it was low-paying. I'm a certified clinical sleep educator. Made it through 9 interviews. Entire company was essentially CEO worship and as soon as I met with the CEO was clear he was not interested in me because of my weight. He kept stressing it was a fitness company and that someone would need to be a "representative" of that. Definitely would not recommend if you choose to spend your money with reputable people.
judging by all your posts I've seen on all these reviews I'd say they dodged a bullet.
seems really bad if it omits heat.
DO NOT BUY. I purchased the cover and while it was great for 3 mos it developed a small leak. Customer service has done nothing but give me the run around. I have been requested to send in pictures of the leak, which I've done, FIVE times. There has been nothing done to let me know how or even if this will be fixed, exchanged etc. If you want to drop a lot of money on this product just be aware that the customer service is none existent after the purchase. Buy at your own risk.
Won't be single forever, don't worry
inshallah!
is it not harmful to have Wi-Fi on your head while sleeping 24 7?
Pod Cover. $2,245 $2,295 or $63/mo*Limited time offer. great it might leak 2k down the drain pun intended
Eating Taco Bell in bed is pretty wild
8GB in one month is a shitload of data. Like insanely high. I would expect 0.1-0.3GB We're talking about 20-80 times more. It just seems highly unusual and honestly suspicious.
jesus 16.gb of data!
1st to the party 🎉
Let’s gooo
What about when you clapping cheeks, are the coils sturdy ebough?
No way I'm paying a subscription for my bed. Nice try eight sleep but just sell something that is timeless - regardless of an app, wifi, subscription etc etc.
