I suppose that is true. They simplified the throw escape system and removed a few throws if I remember correctly. However the animation in Final Showdown is amazing. When your leg sweep gets blocked that character's leg actually stops instead of going through with the motion like in vanilla. Also getting kicked hard from the side of the head knocks the character down on the sides instead of just a knockdown in vanilla. I also liked most of the move changes to the characters so no vanilla is not better than Final Showdown save for maybe the quest mode. Don't know much about R but it looks pretty good

@@ni8anttana Well truthfully the main reason why the home ports were less than arcade perfect is because the consoles were not as advanced as the arcade boards. VF5 Final Showdown for the home systems was a HUGE letdown. The sound is awful. The characters have a drop in polygon count. The lighting is compromised. No intro or full quest mode. The stages don’t pop. I can go on and on. The camera is closer on the character so they are bigger on screen which was a good move but compared to Final Showdown at the arcade, this was very disappointing. So many sacrifices were made with VF5FS because of the download size rule. Games could not exceed 2gb in size and Sega wanted to be cheap. The game was very low priced but I would’ve paid at most 30-40 for a complete game without compromises.
I prefer VF2, the sound effects for impacts were kept, but collisions management is much less impressive. Smoothing life bars, the style of the characters print makes me think that the developers indulge ease. The choice of characters in too square and smooth menu. The scope of strokes is far less impressive, there to see that karate taken Akira or hit balls on Jeffrey VF2 to compare. That said, more variety in shots, the most beautiful game (in the textures only), but it must raise an issue of fairness, balancing of power between the characters. The brightness of the characters bothers me these next gen games. The tapping of the keys to own Virtua Fighter has lost its interest in this sense. Hoping that Sega does not fall into the facility as SF4 or DoA5 or MK-X, yet I note when even a progression in this VF-5R, but not enough, artificial intelligence appears to have suffered. I think it must be because of new textures, gameplay and preserved the ancient VF handicap for some reason, it makes fighting melee, the distances when shots are limited to them. On this point I prefer by far Fighting Vipers 2 (arcade only), but they have already lost much charisma compared to the first Saturn(pal version for music David Leytze). The new fighting games also suffer from a loss of atmosphere makes the programming easier with new tools, we just put a background music to mp3, it not only sticks to the atmosphere, a case programmers ... MK X limited gameplay, Killer Instinct limited gameplay, SF limited gameplay, VF limited gameplay, no originality on the horizon. I expect a new Fighting Vipers or a new Soul Calibur, I think that their gameplay is more scalable, and projections for FV gard impact, and double guard impact(very interesting in the news FV2 announced but unfortunately not so well it should have, in my great regreats.), fighting in the front and SC for knives and big shots from a distance. I think these new textures interfere with the readability of the collision management. Thank you anyway for the video, I had knowledge of this version of VF!
I've stopped at VF2, the chara design of the new characters is bad. The worse the fighters are credible, they are not fighters, but clowns. And it's the same for almost all the fighting games of today (see the new SF, and other soul calibur that were serious, they became ridiculous). I would like a little seriousness for the fighting games, "it is in the details that perfection is made", and here what I see are inconsistencies(see the swords in the back of the fighters and who know how , Full of defects appear), it is no longer games worthy of the arcade, because a PC is ample enough to display all these details, which are only part of a single graphical and physical engine, no retouching of Programming, no additional chipset allowing special effects that a latest generation graphics card would be able to display. No I regret but in the arcade games we made backward for more ease, whereas a kiosk at the time 1995-2005 was very complicated and required a lot of time and calculations, so that the gameplay and duration Life / fun is unlimited. Here we see that there is no retouching of the physical engine in particular, in hitbox, collision management, sound effects, and many other things, sorry but I will not put a penny in these bounds of arcade. "Insert coin" can stay eternity with me and this type of programming. No programming "in hard" means no equity calculation and in combat games this is a crucial point. As for the graphic evolution, I do not care a little, what counts in these games is the technical evolution, on this point we have not advanced, I would even say we have regressed.
Personally I think the Model 3 version of VF3tb is the best VF, amazing Soundtrack, a lot of stages to choose from, stages with different shapes and forms and not just squares, a Team Battle mode, cool easter eggs, not to mention that nothing looked like it in 1997 or 1996 if you count Vanilla 3 too.

The scope of strokes is far less impressive, there to see that karate taken Akira or hit balls on Jeffrey VF2 to compare. That
said, more variety in shots, the most beautiful game (in the textures
only), but it must raise an issue of fairness, balancing of power
between the characters. The brightness of the characters bothers me these next gen games. The tapping of the keys to own Virtua Fighter has lost its interest in this sense.
Hoping
that Sega does not fall into the facility as SF4 or DoA5 or MK-X, yet I
note when even a progression in this VF-5R, but not enough, artificial
intelligence appears to have suffered. I
think it must be because of new textures, gameplay and preserved the
ancient VF handicap for some reason, it makes fighting melee, the
distances when shots are limited to them. On
this point I prefer by far Fighting Vipers 2 (arcade only), but they
have already lost much charisma compared to the first Saturn(pal version for music David Leytze).
Thank you anyway for the video, I had knowledge of this version of VF!
leo197777 I'd say that VF 4 was the best
it looks they didn't even do anything with the graphics on VF 5-VF 5 FR
I've stopped at VF2, the chara design of the new characters is bad. The worse the fighters are credible, they are not fighters, but clowns. And it's the same for almost all the fighting games of today (see the new
SF, and other soul calibur that were serious, they became ridiculous).
Is this on Xbox?
Nope, VF5R is still arcade exclusive.
The video is definitely NOT 60 fps!
31leoceara True! It's 59,94 FPS LOL!!
(Make shure you choose 720p60 HD)
iPLAY SEGA!! The video is 720p, but not 60 fps. You may have uploaded a 60 fps video, but youtube converted it down to 30 fps. If you don't believe me, download the video from youtube with a good plugin or program capable of doing it at 60 fps, then check the properties of the video in an editing software.
31leoceara Just use a newer browser/version or update your flash plugin.
I can choose 720p60 with all my browsers.
iPLAY SEGA!! I apologize, you were right. My browser was not dealing properly with 60 fps videos.
31leoceara No problem. ; )
why does goh always lose a fight
Andre Mercer Cause he is a sore loser.
Lmao
He was introduced with VERY poor combo opportunities, which made 90% of his damage go to throwing.
