- This time the American Viscountess, Julie Montagu visits Scone Palace in Central Scotland - the ceremonial site where Scottish Kings were crowned. For over 400 years Scone Palace has been the family home of the Earls of Mansfield. Julie was given an exclusive tour of the historic interiors by Sophy, the Countess of Mansfield and her son, William, Viscount Stormont, including the rooms where Queen Victoria stayed during her visit of 1842. Julie hears of a new development project for the historic stable block and gets lost in history in the iconic Scone Palace maze.

Your enthusiasm is infectious! I think the combo of American charisma and Scottish exceptional history is such a treat. Thank you, I learned so much watching this. I love the tradition of each Monarch planting a tree on the property, lovely moving way to show the passage of time.
This is truly one of my favorite episodes, Julie! I am so fascinated with the history of Scone Palace and all the beauty. The Countess and. Viscount are amazing fonts of knowledge. Just incredible history.
This video was like repeat history lessons from my youth in Ontario Canada. I grew up in the village of Paisley, in the County of Bruce. I so enjoyed this. I have such respect for those who continue to preserve the important historical elements of these grand homes.
I grew up nearby too!
Great documentary! Thank you for posting it!❤❤
Thank you. This video educated me and was full of pleasant surprises. I was particularly impressed that Scone Palace is the birth place, and family seat, of the great jurist, Lord Manfield.
Breath taking. it's always a joy to see people like me who are keeping history alive. Land keeping are so very important these days. What a blessing.

The one things that GETS ME😤...
is the handling of the sensitive paprus/vellum paperwork....
WITH THEIR BARE HANDS, already adding to its degradation with the grease, grime, grit n oil from their ungloved hands.....
It really burns my but....
They know how sensitive these pieces are...SO GLOVE THE HECK UP
Thanks my UA-cam community.

Magnificent. I pray for a successful plan to keep this beautiful castle around a thousand years ❤❤❤
This is such a beautiful place & it seems they have solid plans to keep it going. Julie, you are so lucky to visit all these places! Am I wrong or were there paintings of Charlotte & George there?

The Stone of Destiny was brought over to Ireland first from Israel with the Throne of David, also the descendents of King David. England is the tribe of Ephraim!
Our Murray cousins!!!!
The Earl is so fine!
Viscount lol, not Earl yet until his father died
She has a very well-mannered very upstanding young man for a son. As she is an American woman and an immigrant to the country how on Earth did she end up with her son having a British accent almost as if she had no influence in teaching him how to speak?
He is Viscount Stormont, son of Earl of Mansfield. She is wife of Viscount Hinchingbrooke son of Earl of Sandwich. They weren't even related
@@Satu-zs7gm okay I'm confused by your response. I was talking about the young boy that was in by Countess hitching Brooks video once or twice that she introduced and said that was her son the blonde haired young man kind of skinny part down the middle of his Hair Etc.
It was my understanding that that was her son with her current husband the Viscount or Earl of Sandwich. I think she has a UA-cam channel called "American Viscountess".
Каждая серия с этой дамочкой начинается со слов: "Я стала аристократкой через постель. А чего добился ты?"
Why is she driving a left-hand drive Car in the UK?
I always have conflicting feelings about these homes. I'm fascinated by their beauty and history. They really are incredible works of art themselves. However, they were also narcissistic monuments built on hoarding wealth, slavery, colonialism, brutality, and exploiting a system of extreme inequality.
as an American, the hostess cannot help playing :one upmanship" to the local residents. Sad commentary on life.
Amazing history
