Your two sets of artillery are great to look at. A great work with an excellent paint job. A good eye for the little details, like the mud on the wheels, lift the sets directly on a higher level. Great work Anthony. Greetings, Joachim
Thanks mate. Yes it is interesting. I first read about it when doing research on french 12 pounders. Because they were so large and regulations state that a bronze barrel must be kept pristine. The crew painted the barrels black. Others followed. I am not sure how widespread it was maybe not massive but interesting all the same. And I think it looks good too.
Nice work on the guns and crews, Anthony. Interesting fact about the barrel color too. I think the officer looks odd too. It's his arm. It's like when Ricky Gervais did that dance at the office party on The Office. Kind of a weird 90 degree bend.
Nice job done on both artillery pieces Anthony! French green was definetely the right way to go, olive green is too green and vivid for camo or general military stuff! Nice explanation on the artilery in general. Keep up the good work my friend!
Thanks a lot George. I guess i was lucky that that particular chap was in the forum. I had just done a bolt action french army myself so I already happened to have French Green in my paint collection.
@@granapriego I also want to wish you good luck with moving all of your stuff. That's a major inconvenience and take time and effort, looking forward to see you return to the bench.
Thank you. Since i increased the width of my medium artillery bases by 5 mm it gives that extra bit of room to make the bases pop a bit and for crew at the sides of the gun.

Thanks mate, yes i think both of his arms are in odd unnatural positions.
That aside i am glad to have him though. Artillery officers are scarce.
