A contemporary of Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven Hélène de Montgeroult (1764-1836) was a French composer, pianist and teacher. Her music has been described as “the precursor of Romanticism” and her volume of 114 Studies has a remarkable variety of technical and musical ideas. Montgeroult was the first Professor of Piano when the Paris Conservatoire opened in 1795.

Instantly fell in love with the composer
Beautiful!
I love this one. Besides the beautiful performance and presentation, the harmonies the composer explores are simultaneously familiar yet different. The music is both relaxing yet stimulating, romantic yet minimalist. I’ll have to watch this one again from time to time because it both pleases my mind yet confuses me as well.

Beautiful I didn't know this one.... Montgeroult is becoming more and more played around the world...Jerome Dorival her biograph and musicologist did a lot to let her becoming famous, from many years now....If you can offer your interpretation of all her studies it would be wonderful....Her life is incredible ...
