I have just listened to her playing the organ with liam o,flynn who is playing her father seamus,s uillean pipes. It is very moving to hear them play one of seamus, favourite pieces Easter Snow. Sadly liam o,flynn died of cancer too a couple of years ago. Whatever lies beyond may these wonderful musicians be playing music together with even more joy x beauty than they did on earth. Thank you all of you.
I heard her play 4 times once in Dun Laoghaire outside Dublin, in Armagh with Liam O'Flynn, and twice in GB Birmingham Town Hall, and lastly, Saint Lawrence Jewry. She was a servant of the music, that and her skills made her a great lady. RIP
During the 1990's, whenever I could, I attended the lunchtime recitals that Catherine Ennis gave at St Lawrence Jewry. She greeted all visitors with a friendly smile and explained what she was about to play before starting the recital. Her playing gave pure joy, and I will never forget her.
I can only fully concur with all the excellent and accurate words spoken by David and written by others. I met Catherine when I became treasurer to St Lawrence Jewry in the 1990s..One of the joys was to work in the Vestry writing up the books and being able, on many occasions, to hear Catherine practicing. It took far longer to write the books up than it should have done! In early 2000, Catherine played some specially adapted Mozart Operatic at my brother Peter's Memorial Service. In December 2009, my Grandson, Robin Willoughby, was permitted to sing, unaccompanied, the first verse of Once in Royal David's City at the then Lord Mayor's Annual Carol Service. My thanks to Alderman Nicholas Anstee for his agreement and to Catherine and David for taking the risk! I have many happy memories of a very gifted and wonderful Musician. RIP.
So sorry to hear this news. I look back fondly at sitting down with Catherine to choose the music for our wedding at St Lawrence Jewry in 1999. She was a wonderful woman, beautiful musician and calming influence on two very nervous young people. Her guidance and advice really made the day even more special for everyone. Our thoughts are with her family, many friends and the St Lawrence Jewry community.
Many thanks, David. She was an amazing person, full of life and fun, as well as such an accomplished organist. We, at The Girdlers, along with so many others, will miss her very much. Our prayers are with her family and your church family at this sad time.
I am so pleased to acknowledge that my introduction to Cathy was as my teacher but she also became a friend who will be greatly missed by her family and the wider musical community. A great ambassador for the organ and having fun in life. God Bless You Cathy.

_R.I.P. Catherine from Ireland_
A beautiful tribute to an amazing lady.

I heard her live on a few occasions. Amazing personality. Amazing organist. Very sad.

Sad to hear this news. She was well known in these parts as her father, Séamus Ennis, was a renowned uilleann piper and Irish music collector.
Petroc Trelawny tweet brought me here. What an amazing person. A wonderful tribute David.
Oh no!! SO SAD, what terrible news.
