    I've cried just watching this and all I've experienced and observed through the years, my heart hurts for all that's impacted in a injustice way. I myself considered I moved on with as much as a normal life that I could from almost 20 yrs ago just to find out I'm at risk for severe punishment for not registering my sons car I co-signed for and has counted as 2 third degree felonies, one for not doing it in 48 hours and the other not doing it on my birthday- I'm devastated and out on pretrial release, so close to the light at the end of the tunnel of petitioning the court for removal after all these years of compliance.

    Having anyone under 15 having to register for life dilutes the registry to the point that it has no meaning.

    Legislators aren't going to do anything about it as long as they fear the peasants, the public, standing by with torches and pitchforks. And as far as the public goes, it can be explained by mob mentality. You cannot reason with an angry mob.

    About 12 hours ago I watched the video of a man who booked a flight on an airplane. He was seated next to some unaccompanied Minors. He was then asked to move because he was a man and they don't allow men to sit next to unaccompanying miners on their flights. This is what happens when people get their education from Is law and order svu. And this is the continuously increasing consequences of the registry and the fear-mongering around it.

    All offenders are treated as if they’re the worst. FBI statistics show that older offenders who were convicted of only looking at online child pornography, but have never harmed a child, have just a 3% recidivism rate. Yet it’s nearly impossible to rent an apartment or home or find a job.

    In Utah, a 14 yo boy and his 13 yo girl friend were. Both charged with sexual exploitation of a minor because the prosecutor said “We have to protect our children even if it’s from themselves”. In another case a Utah prosecutor told a jury a defendant’s defense was valid,he did not violate the law, but there was some innuendo he could make that the man could have committed a crime, so he was prosecuting him as if he’d committed a crime. The man spent 15 years in prison.

    Threat or not - enduring varied people, that is the price of being in a free society. No registry - police can look things up easy enough in this era. And stop apologizing. Human nature encompasses a whole host of rational or irrational things that all have special meaning. All sorts of laws need to be removed.

    i dont understand all the hysteria or hate of sex; i dont get it. why do they hate intently male bodies and men in sexual activity. why the continuous punishment beyond the prison. its not just administrative. quit acting stupid.. its punishment that never ends.. i dont get it..

    • @JESUS.saves.Repent.
      @JESUS.saves.Repent. 4 місяці тому +2

      Sexual activity between adults and children is never okay. It is psychologically damaging to the child/teen. That's the problem. I think society should focus on having the offender do their time then make efforts to turn their life around instead of socially punishing them for the rest of their life. Society does need forgiveness and mercy. I say that as someone who was sexually abused myself. But what they did is still wrong. It's not hate towards the male body, it's hate towards a very evil act that no one should ever do. Please think about this. Please pray to GOD to save you and bless you with mental healing in JESUS name. ❤❤❤

    • @static9061

      @JESUS.saves.Repent. So if a girl lies about her age and the defendant was no older than 18 you think they should be punished for life for a mistake ? The Sor was created for the most violent and gruesome offenders yet younger and younger and less violent offenders are clumped into the same category as the most notorious criminals in history. It's complete nonsense

    She is kind of confused though because at one point she'll say in the beginning that if a person has done their time there's no reason for these laws and then she'll talk about how certain individuals who have clearly made a mistake and were not trying to violate the law. Most people are doing things well aware of what is right or wrong and as a consequence have paid their debt to society however SOs don't have that opportunity. Not to mention that people that go to trial have a greater than 50% chance of losing just because the jurors will not side with the defendant regardless of the evidence given. That is a fact.

    People blindly supporting registries should realize that the mere existence of registries started to affect the very fact that offenders and victims are supposed to be two distincts groups. So the longer registries will operate before they finally shut down in 10 to 20 years, the thinner the line will be by then between offenders and victims.

    • @lmichaud8586
      @lmichaud8586 3 місяці тому

      @IndianCurrycel Funny comment. Thanks. But it's weird to think there really is a ton of men in USA who are sex offenders now, for having had consensual sex when they were like 20 with a 17 years old, and they are now married together, but the "victim" now has to live as the wife of a sex offender, with all the shame and risks coming with that, and it's because of her own alledged victimization. If this is not irony, I don't know what is.

    I would like to tell my story briefly, I am one of the first group of people to be placed on Megan’s law in 1994 For lifting up a girl skirt at school I just turned 14 years old . I am now 43 years old which means I been on there for 30 years . I was forced to drop out of school in the 8th grade because of this and I choose to work instead. I choose to learn about Glass which is called a Glazier and I am one of the best Glaziers in the country. Why have I been on there so long is the million dollar question ? At the age of 18 I had consensual sex with a 14 year old who told me she was 17 , she got pregnant and that’s how my name came up. I was arrested and was told her real age. I did 2 years in prison and was released in 2003 I then found out I would have to be on Megan’s law for 15 years with a parole officer and was given dozens of Unhuman rules , requirements and restrictions I was completely shocked. I Did about 7 years and they found out I was one of the top 10 charcoal artists in the country and just opened my own Glass company LLC . I was starting to make the papers from my art so they took me off the registry but kept me on supervised psl. I ended up doing 15 years on parole or Psl as they call it and the most I got was a small motor vehicle ticket in all that time. I was easily removed from the psl after 15 years which was 2018 , my lawyer was fighting for me to be removed from Megan’s law all together but the court said hey remember when u were 14 and lifted a girl skirt up ? Well we are not removing u off . That made me stronger to be even more successful, so I started more businesses and always stayed as a Glazier to the point where I became so good no matter what glass company I worked for I was the highest paid employee. I was never fired from a job because of this , I never was turned down from a job , I was never denied a apartment or house. I have horror stories from life on psl and I mean horror stories. I would like to tell those stories along with how I beat them and didn’t fail in life and right now I am extremely successful. I earn a 6 figure salary, I had No problems since I been removed from Psl until Now . I had a opportunity in Arizona where I can double my success and the NJ detective found out and violated me for leaving NJ and not telling Arizona police that I was there to work within 10 days smh . I am pissed that Law does Not want anyone on Megan’s law to be successful. I have a story where a police officer tried to set me up in NJ for crimes he knew I didn’t commit and if I didn’t have the money or resources I would have went back to jail and everything I done would have been wasted. But I out smarted him and hired a private investigator and he got the truth and all charges was dropped with a apology from the judge I have that report right now in my icould that I want to make public a long with all the illegal stuff I seen in these past 30 years . I have stories and proof that will raise so many eyebrows my email is alluniqueconstruction@gmail.com

      inform on corrupt officers on the brady list (google brady list) and try to find a way to report officers in your town (United States Code Section 1983 - Police Misconduct)
