Having done both resort at Lohis and a boat twice, it’s always about the people you’re with and ideally if it’s a boat that they are happy to explore less crowded waves.
We went with Renegade and was amazing, empty waves, amazing food and a great crew. What I’d also say is having looked at going back to Lohis that looked similar in price to a charter by now so would advise the boat charter.

Good vid. West Oz guys go to Maldives a lot but these days it seems mostly to be boat charter. Be aware there are tropical storms that come out of nowhere. Mate came back recently had a night of 100kph winds and dragged anchor. Next morning boat next to them was on it's side on the reef. They scored some great waves but still not my idea of fun. I like solid ground under my feet when I'm not in the water.
