- I am opening a hobby box of 2021-22 Panini NBA Hoops Basketball for our next sports card pack opening/product review! These boxes have an SRP of $120 but resell in the mid $200 range. Every box contains 24 8-card packs. Expect 1 autograph (down from 2 last year) and 24 inserts/parallels per box. These boxes come with chances at pulling the first rookie cards of the 2021 NBA Draft class in their NBA jerseys, ultra-rare Hoops Art signatures signed on-card, new NBA 75th Anniversary parallels, 1/1 black parallels, red auto parallels #/25, rare Rookie Special inserts, inserts highlighting the NBA Champion Milwaukee Bucks, holo rookie inserts, autos/rookies of Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes, Franz Wagner, & Jalen Suggs, and more! Compared to other products, this is a low-end set. You can get a box for yourself from your local sports card hobby shops and online retailers/sellers. Overall, I would rate this product a 6/10. Good luck if you try one for yourself!

I love Hoops but bummed by the lack of a second auto. Agree that there's rarely much monetary value in it but as a collector and fan of the sport I just like having a variety of autos. Got Bane and Diallo last year and seeing both of them play well this year has been more fun as a result even if they weren't considered crazy pulls then.
Also not sure if the one auto this year is guaranteed to be a rookie and I'll be pretty annoyed if I open a hobby box and get one random vet auto.
If its a good vet you wont be complaining
the One auto was a 'second' auto --- in previous years.
Its the 'First' auto that was not there.
@@ValueTowny Of course I'd be happy to get someone like Iverson but there's a pretty significant chance of getting someone like Eric Gordon instead. The auto checklist is a mess and I'd feel a little better about getting a rookie auto for someone that doesn't pan out than a Zubac auto.
These boxes are looking really rough compared to last year from what I've seen on this and other channels today.
Ya this is a really bad buy. Hoops never resells well and this rookie class isn't off to a good start. This is the classic product that sells good for a month and then it tanks 220 for a hobby box is criminal for this garbage

Joe wiescamp was a 3 point assassin at Iowa made the all big ten second team last year he was always so fun to watch when he played at lowa I love me some big ten guys

Finally NBA unis for this current batch of rookies, hopefully products begin to catch up moving forward as well as better quality control.
I like the design and the photos look pretty solid again. $200/box is a bit tough, especially with only one auto now. You pull someone like Weiskamp or, say, a common vet like Mason Plumlee or someone similar, and it kinda stinks. At $100 or less, pretty solid rip.

I was bummed by just one auto this year, but like you said hopefully that means quality will be better than quantity! Usually if you got one good auto in previous years, you knew the second one would be garbage haha

Josh Giddey will be one to collect. Played amazing in the NBL and almost made the Australian Olympic Team.
He’s got a bright future for such a young age. Also the youngest player to record a triple double in the NBA.

I don't understand the groups mentality - Buy a Hoops Hobby for $200 and get $200-$2000 in cards or Buy a $1500 Prizm or Select Hobby and get maybe $200 worth of cards? Please explain.
Last year I had a pretty strong box with maxey and Dennis Rodman to 25 autos
Already bought into a couple breaks for Magic only
2nd year Cole Anthony and 2 rookies in Suggs and ROY Wagner are same team, so double the chance
Other than that, I’m waiting on ⭐️Obsidian⭐️ for Basketball and football
Since there’s no retail those cards stay in value for bases and parallels or autos

Watched 50 boxes being opened yesterday....Absolute garbage or maybe I'm just not feeling the rookies this year as much🤷♂️. I think donruss will be better. Thanks for the break as always
Just finished to retail 88 card (11 pack) boxes. No Autographs in these, but got a couple of sweater cards and a nice group of rookies. Only about 1 rookie every other pack in the retail cards. Base heavy.
Costs more but 1 less auto. Makes sense thanks Panini 👌. I stopped buying boxes after 2017-18, glad I did.

I watched so many of these dudes come up in high school on ballislife. I feel like I have an emotional investment. Cade and the Jalens, Scottie. Evan, and Kuminga. Crazy they were all high schoolers 2 years ago. Also I hope Mac McClung has an Autograph I would love his auto

Alot people will look at numbers and stats but from watching cade he just look different he can shoot, create his own shot, and he looks really mature the way he approaches the game. I think he'll be an absolute stud in 2 Years.
As a die hard Pistons fan I’m happy to see you score a Cade! Not a huge fan of Hoops but might have a scoop up a Cade myself. Also think Josh Giddey has a bright future

I pulled 2 autos out of small retail packs that were 2.99 . I think hobby is all about inserts.
This draft class is a HIGH RISK - HIGH REWARD set of ROOKIES.... Most of them are young and have a bright future in NBA. minus the injury minor or major injury..
Goodluck to this set of rookies.. Hope after 20 yrs most of them are HALL OF FAMERs
Probably looking forward to pulling Barnes, Mobley, Giddy, & Wagner the most. I'm not sure if this class is going to have any top-level elite players in the future, but it is DEEP. There are like 10-15 guys who could be solid NBA starters for years. Previous two drafts may have had more sizzle at the top, but this draft has more all-around talent.
No stars which is what drives prices. This will plummet in price so no need to pay over 200 when it will keep dropping
A lot of good talent in this class Cade Barns Mobley Duarte Giddy Ayo Green just to name a few!! Suggs will be that guy who starts showining out in year 2-3 kinda like a Darius garland

Need to see more from jalen green but I think I’m looking forward to his stuff the most on collecting
My son opened a box last night for his bday and pulled a silver Cade 137/199, and the base Cade. His autograph was Brandon Clarke,. He also pulled base Jalen Green, Giddy, Suggs, Mitchel, and Wagner.. pretty good box overall!!

As of right now the top ROY candidates could be Scottie Barnes, Wagner, and Giddey. Mobley is very solid, but I think Davion Mitchell has the best defense of the top 10 rookies. Very exciting stuff
I think it’s a 2 man race between Barnes and Mobley. Wagner doesn’t get as much attention as he does

I think the fat packs are better. I was able to get 5 fat packs at target. $7 each. Was able to pull 4 slam inserts. Lebron, Chris Paul, gary Payton holo, Dwayne Wade holo. Then was about to pull sick J giddeys, green, Cade, Barnes. Gifdey holos

Opened a bunch of retail Hoops and so far a lot of nice rookies, but no tough pulls. Still, it’s nice there’s a rookie per pack and I’ve been able to pull all the rookies.

@@puremaniac3171 yes rookie class has been very underwhelming especially at the top of the class suggs and Cunningham have not looked good at all when they have played. This stuff is already dropping because of that. No star has emerged bunch of decent players so far that's it
