Bless your heart for even filming, editing and uploading a video in the midst of all this!! We live in Beauregard Parish and we just got power today. We left for Shreveport after the storm and stayed for a week. My baby girl has mild CP and the other health issues that go along with it. We wanted to stay to assess any damage, luckily it was just a lot of debris and limbs on our property but no structural damage. When we got back home we used a generator until today. You are so right about there being no national coverage on this storm. Even in north Louisiana while I was feeling like my entire world had stopped I’d see everybody else getting their boats and gear ready for Labor Day weekend. It was as if I was frozen in time. But we’ll all get through this together and be the better for it. Louisiana Strong!!!
Note to self: Don’t have a category 4 hurricane during a pandemic or an election year.
I’m so glad y’all are safe and your property isn’t damaged too much! Thank God for power. Ours just came on tonight too! It’s crazy how our neighboring towns have no clue how bad it is here!

Thank you for an update on Lake Charles. I'm in Houston area and I have friends headed to Lake Charles through our church to try and help your community. I pray that they will be a blessing to Lake Charles. We lost electricity from Ike for a week in the Houston heat. It was so hard. I totally get the guilt you feel. When our small town, Katy, flooded during Harvey, our neighborhood one of the only ones not to have any flooding. In time, you'll be able to do more. Give yourself grace. I for one am glad you suffered no damage, but I completely understand your feelings. Praying for your community. When things seem out of control, just remember that God is never out of control. Lake Charles will get through this.

This video REALLY gives me a glimpse into your heart. What a kind and loving person you are. For you to open your home cor showers and food and friendship....you are doing more than you realize!! I always say I will give my small gift of love and God will multiply it. That is what He is doing with you, trust me He is multiplying it! I love that you are seeing this as hopeful, thats so important. And as for news cov6, its ridiculous! If it isn't covid and rioting it doesn't get covered and that is extremely sad! I feel for you and for your neighbors, but I see you are all doing the work of God....how powerful! I will surely pray for you, is there anything else we can do for you guys?

😢😢😢 so sorry that you had to go through all that. I was born and raised in Florida and went through all the hurricanes in 2004 and hurricane Charlie which was a cat 4 when it hit gave me real bad ptsd of any type of storms especially night time storms.
My boyfriend, 3 month old and I were displaced by laura. We lived in vinton. They have us in dallas right now at a hotel...
Oh my goodness. Praying things will get back to normal quickly for y’all. I hate to hear you’re still displaced.
