It's a shame that Blue Note didn't released this album until 1979 in Japan, because this was one of Grant Green's masterpiece alongside Idle Moments & Latin Bit...
Alfred Lion thought Grant Green was a commercial artst, which resulted in albums like this locked in the valuts until after his tragic death in 1979. Big mistake. As this is his best album along with the unissued Born To Be Blue and Idle Moments.
I used to love seeing him perform as a member of 'The Godfathers of Groove' - Bernard Purdie on drums and Reuben Wilson on Hammond Organ. Well worth checking out their albums! Must get this album too...
Splendid
Its a joy, listening to the Masters at work, this album, matador all-time top ten in my book
6:22 Elvin Jones gets into the beast mode. That's beyond words
Gustavo Estevam I never noticed the snare only mcoy going beast. Their definitely locked in there
so excellent, and the McCoy solo is sublime
Grant Green and soul are synonymous.
Can't get any better than this!
What beautiful music!!
McCoy and Elvin put on a workshop

MY LORD!!! I clicked on that sweet blue note album cover, and THAT LINEUP. This will be amazing.
