Every time you do one of these 'come along for the ride' videos, I always find myself SO inspired. I work in a totally different genre, totally different vibe, but your passion and enthusiasm carries over to any style. Thank you so much - as always!
We need more compact creations! ❤️ Btw: Never thought I‘d ever want to get a Digitakt. Well the years of watching your videos eventually made me change my mind - today mine arrived. And just watching your workflow instantly made me feel at home with this thing. THANKS Ricky
your the master ricky :) brilliant track back in the rave days this would have been huge..gave me goosebumps and reminded me of clubbing back in the late 80s/early 90s when chicago house started getting huge in the clubs in manchester.
Your top camera seems to be having issues. It shows some nasty glitches at random intervals. I noticed this in last weeks video and now also in this one.
Great as always and much thanks as you are one of the ppl who inspired me to get into Elektron gear. I finished my first album recently... which won't get a lot of listens on Spotify... but was a lot of fun making.. so thx! I used the Digitakt, Syntakt and A4 a good bit. I'm still a noob on all of them and prob will be for sometime, lol.
This is a vibe. Would honestly love a video just on how you dial your compressor on the mix, it’s always hard for me to know exactly how to make it work for my mix. Cheers brotha.
also, you are so fast. makes the digitakt look good. but the masters made every type of paint look incredible. yeah....im comparing you to rembrants and thems.....i did that.
Interesting, the title says "Hardware Only..." Then one of the comments below says "The next OS upgrade...". There is barely any "no computer" or DAWless" rig anymore. The definition of computer does not include monitor, mouse or keyboard. A computer takes input, stores it (memory or drive), processes it, outputs it. Anything with even the most rudimentary processor in it is a computer. If it has firmware or OS, it is a computer with software. We see here interaction with an operating system with buttons and dials. Looks very much like computing. What really matters is the music.
That critter & guitari mic is sooo cute, and I saw on their site it comes in a bunch of different colorways... I'm always sampling direct into my digi so I know I'd use it all the time, I might have to cop one. Also the track sounds great btw
I think early ones had grey funk buttons, mine is yellow-orangey colored. I've noticed different colored func buttions on different Digitones too, some are green, some are grey ect.
None of the above. It’s a grey key button from the Analog Four, turned sideways. Check older videos, there’s always a dozen comments about that button, and I think Ricky’s tired of answering them.
As always, a relaxing and inspiring video. Love the vibe. Also, where did you get that melancholic plush saguaro cactus hiding back there on your desk? As a resident of the Sonoran desert, I approve.👍
Oh, boy!!! I wish one day I have such a confidence in both knowing an instrument and track creation. Fantastic tune. Please release it. And fantastic video. Super inspirational. PS: And the last... I'd love to pay some money on this kind of track creation lesson ;)
The next OS upgrade should include a routing page like on the Syntakt so you can choose which tracks to run into the compressor. Another, cool feature would be to have the compressor be a send fx like the delay and reverb for some parallel compression...

agree withh this
I agree. I make pop music with guitars (but I dabble with techno hehe) but I find Ricky just so chill. It is all music and it is good
Yes ...totally agree 1000% as well.
Love the Compact Creation Series. Thank for sharing. Made my day, dude❤
deep burnt
no spectacles ricky returns
Contact lens wave is real
Spectaculess
Great video. Question? How would you mix this down on that machine?
should have gone with the line right after, "that's cool I like that," over "one time."
We need more compact creations! ❤️

This is exactly why Electron hired him. Don't be a tool of the industry. Do your own homework and make your own judgments.
@@Drrolfski bought a used one, so don’t you worry ;)
And in the end music is about having fun - if that things helps me have some, take my money ☺️
@@Drrolfski, is he a replacement for Cénk aka Dataline or the reason he left?
@@zizlog_sound Best to ask him that yourself.
Just bought a digitakt and seeing a banger being produced like this motivates me soo much!! big up
your the master ricky :)

Came for a stank face, wasn’t disappointed 😂Cheers Ricky!
Learned a TON watching this! Wish you were out playing more in LA--would love to come dance to this!!
Maybe you’ve already talked about it but what are your feelings on the push 3 ? Are you planning on getting one?
He probably is... he is a gear junkie! (I'm a recovering addict too!)
This is a vibe. Would honestly love a video just on how you dial your compressor on the mix, it’s always hard for me to know exactly how to make it work for my mix. Cheers brotha.
Really dope house groove!!! But Sir, won't you tell us, is that fancy green microphone the latest from Neumann? ;)
No it's a Critter & Guitari.
Awesome track and fun to watch the process. Kept comparing it to what I'd do on the Circuit Tracks.
Awesome as always!
also, you are so fast. makes the digitakt look good. but the masters made every type of paint look incredible. yeah....im comparing you to rembrants and thems.....i did that.
Easy peasy.
Man I need that mic for my SP404 MK2. What in the heck is that thing? Haha
I need it for my Circuit Rhythm.
Made by Critter and Guitari.
@@AttackRelease1 DOPE. Thanks!
Nice vids. Any advice how to adjust volume, effects etc for the plugins from digitakt?

Hi Ricky, thanks for an awesome video!
Is there more features you would like to see Elektron add to the Digitakt in a future firmware update?
#onetime 💙
wonderful sample pack
Why you got a different coloured FUNC button ?
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, WHY DOESNT THE SWING FROM THE DIGITAKT WORK ONCE IN ABLETON/OB ?
who makes the green mic you used?
Critter and Guitari.
Excellent as always Ricky keep it up!! Love it!
3:39 Eeeee right there. You even made a stank face. this is like some. Yam Who. i want a digitakt now.
Basic question: is the audio being sent via the USB output to a computer?
Best time of the week!!!!
Heya! Wot mic is dat? tanks Mooch Bippy xo
Been craving one of these vids. I always learn so much with your Digitakt beat from scratch. Big ups
Your digitakt videos make me wanna grab mine and do something too. Thank you for that!!!
Grey FUNC looks great on the DT (never liked the orange)
Please make a video like this with the circuit rhythm
Dude I gotta get a funky lofi mic like that
Joy as always to hang out! The one time pitch down hit the spot ngl 🕺🏻
Will you build and release the song?
Damn your workflow is insane! Amazing track
Hardware only. Samples.
Nice groove fella! Keep 'em coming.
Great track and vibes
is there a story to the grey function button on the digitakt?
I think early ones had grey funk buttons, mine is yellow-orangey colored. I've noticed different colored func buttions on different Digitones too, some are green, some are grey ect.
I think it's from his old Octatrack. You can swap them (somehow).
None of the above. It’s a grey key button from the Analog Four, turned sideways. Check older videos, there’s always a dozen comments about that button, and I think Ricky’s tired of answering them.
dude what happened to yer func?
it's seems audio in this video is mono
such a groove my man!
Very cool! Love the vibes Ricky!!!
Thanks!
Cool! I wish there were more videos like that.
Very nice tune, hella deep!

What kind of small green plastic mic thing is that?
Forgot to link it! My bad - bit.ly/3PnmICF
So simple, so cool
Ricky's voice became uncomfortably close with that mike change lol
Yo Ricky what up mayne! Hope everything is good with you! Glad to see you still putting out content. I gotta get that mic btw, noice
As always, a relaxing and inspiring video. Love the vibe. Also, where did you get that melancholic plush saguaro cactus hiding back there on your desk? As a resident of the Sonoran desert, I approve.👍
Should I sell my push2 and get a digitakt? I never go on my computer to produce anymore 🤔
Oh, boy!!! I wish one day I have such a confidence in both knowing an instrument and track creation.
Fantastic tune. Please release it.
And fantastic video. Super inspirational.
PS: And the last... I'd love to pay some money on this kind of track creation lesson ;)
Very nice! Really enjoyed watching your workflow here. Thanks for sharing.
🙌🏻
That was the most I ever learned in a video about the digitack. Thanks so much!
Just got a Digitakt yesterday; this video will be invaluable as I learn it.
Love this track! Bro you have taught me so much about this box! I would love to get in the lab with you!
You are sooo fast. Really love this Track!
New album, “No Spectics”
Love your reaction to your own tune at the end! Awesome stuff Ricky 🙂
You have some wild skills with that Digitakt
Nice! might have to cop a digitakt after this
Dope Track!

Ricky! I am the proud new owner of a baby grand piano bro. I can't wait to get the studio rolling with it in there.
duuuuude, I've been thinking about them lately. There's just something about walking up to an instrument and hearing it instantly
Using your own vocals in music is underrated!!
what? until like 5 years ago that was normal

No glasses? Lasik ?
Ricky pls link the green mic you are using
