Amazing to hear this! Must've been a precursor to the old "Candid Camera" TV show, similar in concept to this. Did "Microphone" air as a radio program? Mr. Lugosi was totally convincing in this scenario, the customer believing him entirely. She didn't express any skepticism or subtly play along with what she suspected was a gag. She expressed no alarm or revulsion either. I think she definitely was intrigued although slightly uneasy. Great ending, showcasing Mr. Lugosi's engaging sense of humor. Would've been great to know him!
It's REALLY interesting that when he introduces himself at 3:40 he makes reference to KING OF THE ZOMBIES - a 1941 film he was >supposed< to have appeared in but did not.
Un monument du cinéma d épouvante j ai une passion depuis l âge de 8 ans je l ai vu dans white zombies et je l ai toujours adulé j en ai 60 maintenant et je possède pas de ces films.
Wild humor beyond anything I have ever heard! What wonderful talents Bela Lugosi had...a rare soul ✨
Very odd stuff but Bela was so funny
This is so awesome. Thank you so very much for posting these clips of Mr. Lugosi. There will never be another one.
Oh my gosh the ending was so adorable! Love it!
He had a great sense of humor!
"It is a particularly sadistic hobby, if I may say so." "Isn't it!"
"Isn't that lovely?" 😂
