What a nice 🆕 member of the furious fleet! And what a treat , no sill welding🎉!!! And major progress on the carport! Well done Matt and furious Matt dad!
Hi Matt, this an absolutely fantastic purchase. It’s definitely one of my favourites on your fleet along with Your Y-Reg Mini. Nice to see Mrs Furious make her UA-cam debut with you.
The Eunos, with that interior, is my dream MX5/not MX5. Congratulations...and buying one of these, with so few issues, is amazing luck. Good for you. You definitely deserve a rust repairing break. If you change the suspension, please do your homework as to not fuck the car up. They're famous for the handling and balance. Such finesse can easily be destroyed.
Very nice. Very clean. Look forward to it being spruced up and love the honesty of the mrs, We need another episode when she steals it off you in the summer😂
Matt you may be able to get your dashboard repaired by a mobile smart repair person. I used to this this, the crack is filled with resin, a texutured paint is applied then a colour match to the dashboard. This is done without removing the dashboard.
I bought two Eunos about 7 years ago, a V special and an S-limited, 1000 made with the red interior. I cleaned them up and sold the V special for a big profit the following spring. 7 years later I still have the S-limited which has been a great car to own. I believe the V special wasn't actually limited in numbers and also came in black later on. The high level brake light on mine was turned into a fog light when it was imported so my bumper is intact. I also have all the import documentation and found the previous owners house in Chiba Japan on Google street view.😂
wow, Id love to ba able to get that kind of history - I did with the Crown Vic, enen a Google Earth photo of it in the Police station parking lot, but dont think I'll get far with this one
Great little cars, just remember to unzip the rear screen before you fold the roof down, esp in winter because if its really cold the plastic screen can crack. Also clean out the drain holes along the sills ,used to get lots of owners back in the day complaining about a slooshing noise when they come to a stop, it was the rear wing area being full up with rain water.
Fortunately the last owner knew what to look for and kept it dry stored so I think it’s clear but will be checking them. I actually didn’t know the screen was the unzip type, although I know not to put roofs down when it’s very cold for that reason
@@furiousdriving i worked at a mazda garage in Caterham ,and i can remember one cold frosty morning ,one of the junior sales staff folded down all the roofs on the mx5s outside the showroom and promptly cracked 6 rear screens !. Bad day for the sales dept !!. Im not sure but when the NB model came out it had a proper glass screen, and im sure there was a mod for fitting that to the NA model.
Your smiles and generally chuffed demeanour say it all! I guarantee you'll love it. I'm now on my third Eunos (current one purchased from Stone Cold Classics) and can't imagine life without one. Great choice and I can't wait for future videos. My new fleet favourite for sure.
These are great little cars, I had an NA which was mildly terrifying to drive in the US with all of our massive cars but it certainly was a great time. Be very careful polishing it, make sure you go over it with a paint depth gauage before you do anything. Chances are it's been polished before and the factory single stage paint is really quite thin
Excellent choice! I love roadsters myself, so I'm thrilled to see this one join the fleet. I have that same Nardi steering wheel on my MG Midget. Such a classy touch!
Ripper Matt. Great colour/upholstery combo. A new wooden gear knob would be good. Great to have a good solid car with no surprises. Can’t take the whole family but otherwise will be economical fun motoring. Carport looking good. This really needs to be out of the weather. Never driven one of these but I’m sure it will be a lot of fun.
These Ok great in this colour combo, definitely got lucky with this one! Once it’s MOTd it can move to the barn and something tin top can come out, or I’ll get the roof bought for the car port
Nice, I’ve had a mk1 Eunos, a mk2 and a mk3. The Eunos was most fun. Mine had the yellow sealed beam JDM fog lamps in the front grille. They didn’t work and weighed about 3/4 of a ton each so I removed them!
Well done Matt on your carport construction, it will be a god send to keep the weather off you and the car's once it's got a back wall and roof on to keep the wind and rain out, I can't wait to get mine ! The Mazda is a lovely deep green which should come up really nice 😊
Congratulations 🎉. I've got a mk1 Eunos Roadster V Spec and absolutely love it! It's superb and makes every journey into a pleasure. I hope you enjoy it; I've had mine for 13 years and never want to sell her - they really get under your skin.
I love this shape of MX5 - really looking forward to seeing how you get on with this one. Don't see too many Chester registrations on pre-2001 cars now either, so it's nice to see one on your latest purchase!
Eunos is a Mazda sub brand, like Autozam, not a single model. What you have is a Roadster, they also sold the 300, 500, 800, Cosmo, Presso, Cargo etc. Get it properly rustproofed if not already done. With the Japanese equivalent of an MOT costing over £600, most Japanese don't keep cars long enough to rust, so JDM cars have minimal treatment. It's the reason that the Suzuki Cappuccino was withdrawn from the UK market. They could fail first MOT with rust!
Hey hey hey, nevermind the car... look at the lovely new almost complete lean to 😊😊🤗 Delighted to see you getting out of the rain/snow. Built the same myself except my one is at the side of the house and no decent floor, only mud this time of year 😢 throw a tarp on the end or it will be like a wind tunnel 😂 how do I know that 🫢 Good luck with the mazda
Another cracking video Matt. That the wife like it is a massive boon. Working on the car as well right after you got it demonstrated your enthusiasm a treat. Fingers crossed for the MOT.
I adore my 1990 Eunos V Spec. I think it’s pretty much the same spec as yours. It really is a masterpiece, I hope you enjoy this car and hold on to it until next spring, summer. Nothing comes close to it on a country road on a sunny summer’s day. Really looking forward to your videos on this wonderful little car!
Well done Matt and so good to see a MX5 on the channel! I have never driven one but I had the mx5 MZR engine in a Mazda 3 5 door and it was a real hoot to drive it was one car I regret selling They are amazing cars so much fun and still look great all these years later My friends dad had a 1991 limited edition same colour combination as that and was a fabulous car loved driving in it with him he’s now got a mk3 Looking forward to seeing this come back to life and to be a member of the furious fleet! Daniel
As stated on Facebook already: congratz on the Eunos. Roadsters are awesome! The colour and the tan interior work so well together! I do wish the guy who added the wood details, get's a horrible itch, and arms too short to scratch it. ;P
Remarkably solid lovely car, back in 1991 an ex school friends dad bought him a new blue mx5, I used to lust after that and he wrote it off after a few months just down the road from me. My wife bought an abarth 124 spider which just makes me want one more, but the Mazda version - look forward to seeing how this goes.
Missus Furious takes after my father. Three cars that I bought he took over as his own 😁 - the only difference being that he pooh-poohed them all, pre my purchase! Well played, Matt, and enjoy!
What an absolute cracking car! Very rare. I had an colleague that had a Eunos 30X (sold as MX3 in Europe). Mrs Furious certainly has taste. Happy for you both!
I'm impressed - always had a mental image of a fun car for weekend jollies and a fantasy of a cheap early MX5 that's still in good condition and you hit the nail on the head here. Keep the rust at bay!
These are fabulous cars. I've had several including a V Spec in Green with the tan leather seats and non working a/c. Again the paint was flat and had rusty sills, no handbrake and blown shock absorbers. Enjoy your new project 👍
Just a heads up, the 'roll over hoop' will act as more of a mousetrap in a rollover situation. They're decorative only. Only ones which firmly attach to the chassis in several places will really hold up in a roll.
My Stepson had a 2000 MY MK 2.5 , just a year younger than him, l had to borrow it once on an Urgent Mercy Dash to my Father in Law it was pouring down and l got it sideways going up a Sliproad, my wife wasn't impressed but a little bit of opposite lock and all was good. Can't wait to see updates on this fantastic project.
I like that, it's British Racing Green too. I have just bought a new car myself, picked it up yesterday. It was -3 degrees when I picked it up, it snowed overnight so 2" covering this morning, but it's not a Land Rover !!! It's a mint 1 owner from new, 25,800 miles, 2016 M2.
@@furiousdriving Indeed, lots of fun at slow speeds in the snow ! If I had more room on the drive, a Eunos would be pretty high on my list of choices, I love them.
Hey FD, welcome to the club. I know the purists will slate me but I drive the Mk4 ND, and I love it beyond expectation. I too wanted an older model that I could 'tinker' with as a hobby, but have no where to store it or ANY experience of welding, and boy these babies love a good weld !. However, after nearly 40 years of driving ordinary saloon/estate type cars thought the sports car purchase would just be a shiny new toy that the luster would soon wear off and become just another car. How wrong can one man be ?. My good lady doesn't drive but even she loves the Mazda, the car is our baby. BEWARE ! it will cost you a fortune, mine has, it has needed nothing, but who can resist some upgraded discs, EBC pads, a better exhaust, the odd small spoiler, and the occasional vinyl decal ????.............. Sorry do I sound OTT ?.
God Bless JDM. Ps. The Absolute Best Mustard Furious Driving hat Modelling bar none. Well done Mrs Furious. Don't let him near that Eunos when the Sun Returns. From MINI Convertible experience across the Irish Sea, that means first week of March get the roof down. Most importantly, ENJOY.
Great to see an MX5/Eunos join the fleet. As a Mk1 owner myself, you will get loads of fun with it. Would suggest getting rid of that chrome style bar and replace it with a wind blocker, which makes top down driving more comfortable. Rear arches look good and seem to have the original spot welds. The MX5 restorer have a video on their website which goes into detail on what to look out for bodywork wise. Worth a look.
When we lived in NZ during the '90s we had a Japanese import Mazda Eunos. It was a 2lt automatic 4-door sedan. It was a fantastic car, really loved it. The only downside was the transmission was a weak spot in them. Good luck with your Eunos.
I've never driven an MX5 but they're crazy money here in NZ. I ended up buying a MGF as an alternative, but I don't think it'll sit in my fleet for too long.
Lovely. I have a 1992 Eunos Roadster V Special but it has Jenvey individual throttle bodies fitted. It's my forever car having owned it 11 years and invested a lot of time and money. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
A great find Matt and approved by the boss too. The MX5 NA is one of those cars that's always been high on my list of attainable sports cars (along with an MR2). The Eunos always look to be better spec than the MX5 too and I love that steering wheel. It's also very close to being Joseph's favourite interior, exterior colour combo. 😂
@@furiousdriving Do you remember the red MX5 NA that were used in the full scale version of the Ridge Racer arcade game? The Namco centre in Meadowhall near Sheffield had one and I think possibly Blackpool pleasure beach. They were so cool.
Hi! I’ve got a mk2 1.8 VS JDM and a mk4 2.0 sport nav for my daily. Used to have a mk1 S limited. Well done for buying this - lovely stuff! LSD and manual on an mx5 are so good to drive! Couple of things: 1 - it should have a wooden nardi gearbox knob to go with the handbrake and steering wheel 2 - the wooden dashboard is something that was probably put on it in the late 90s. Not original 3 - i’ll be amazed if its the original hood. Most likely an aftermarket one at this age - the plastic rear screen lasts 10 years max 4 - get it undersealed as soon as you weld it. As a mk2 owner, trust me haha V spec is blooming lovely. Original dials were black with white numbers.
I assumed it was aftermarket dash trim, but we thought it might have been dealer fit! I do want that wooden gear knob, the metal looks nice but is too cold to use in winter! Underseal is the next job on the list, I know these cars reputation!
About time too Mat. I’m a bit jealous, but then again the Eunos JDM cars are well nigh impossible to register in France. If I lived in the UK this is the exact spec car I would have bought. As it is I have been enjoying my 1995 1.8iS for 7 years now, and I still love her as much as I did when I drove her back from Kent to Valence in 2017. I swear I will NEVER sell her. So pleased you’ve got one. All you need now is a 9-5 Aero and you’ll be a proper car guy 😂😂. These beauties are SO easy to work on too.
I have a Eunos, too. In far, far worse condition though. You appear to be missing the yellow Bilstein shock absorbers that were factory fitted to Eunos’. Lovely car though. Go absolutely belt and braces on rust prevention. Whatever you think is enough, double it. MX5 parts are a brilliant UK based company that do LOADS of bits for (would you believe it) MX5’s and their foreign namesakes. From stainless bolts to roofs, original and pattern body parts. You name it, they do it.
Lovely car. That is a V-Spec 1 car (there is a later V-Spec 2 which is what mine is!). Best mod you can get for it is a Mk2 wooden weighted gearknob - that metal thing is aftermarket. It's also supposed to have tan coloured bump strips on the dash surrounding the vents - yours are black for some reason. I got rid of the aftermarket foglight and wired it into one of the reversing lights - much cleaner rear end! Let me know if you want to do a side by side comparison! Given you were driving on the A20 you can't be far from me :) Though mine has a supercharger on it too! Rear brakes are a perennial problem I'm afraid, you have to adjust them every few months.
you are clearly happy with the car and Mrs Furious too. You can read the happiness of your face, which makes us people also happy. Have fun with it, no doubt you'll take good care of it. (secretly hoping the Tomcat also get's some attention) 😋
What a little beauty that car is. Love the first gen Miata. At 6'2" it just feel right. I test drove these when they were new. I wanted one but it was not what the doctor ordered
So glad you joined the Eunos club Mat, now I'll have even more reason to watch your shows. Yes loudspeakers in the seats are standard. If the cambelt has been done that's a plus if the water pump and seals were also done at the same time - worth checking. Most body parts are available so I would definefitley change the wing and I'll be looking forward to when you do the suspension upgrade. So many options and prices it will be interesting to hear you work through your top five list. One last thing if you want to keep the hood supple and sound use Autoglym Vinal and rubber care it's ace and get an outdoor car cover to prevent UVA deterioration.
The eunos is one of the best cars I have ever driven what a drivers car. The pop ups and the gearbox/chassis is spot on. Added bonus that the Mrs likes the car also!
What a great time to buy a rag-top!! It was so cold today (Dec2) that the frost stayed on the ground all day!! 😄 Enjoy the car, anyone who's played a Gran Turismo knows the Eunos name!!👊👍🏻
Despite recognizing that the Mazda MX-5 has always been a fun car to drive, the fact that it has become a desirable icon has made it fall into the class of social stereotype. Now, to have an "Eunos Roadster" with that configuration and in "British Racing Green", is in another classification field - it's "ULTRA COOL". Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Furious! 👌
£1500 ! You got a real bargain. I paid £890 back in 2017, I haven’t seen anything under £2000 for a long time. DON’T change the wheels ! As far as I can see these are original V Spec. If you really don’t want them I’d be very happy to take them off your hands (seriously !) I can’t believe you haven’t dropped the top yet!
I dont think they are original, they are multi lug so 4 and 5 bolt holes, and look too wide for an NA. Also way to cold to move the top, its not been over 1° and that makes them brittle, not that i like driving with the roof down!
You can (and I do!) drive in all weathers with the top down. The heater is hot enough to melt your feet, all you need is a woolly hat ! If it rains you can still drive top down. You won’t get wet if you keep your speed over 70km/h (40 mp/h). After I bought mine I lent it to a mate for a weekend and he said « I want one » so I found him a 1991 pearl white example for £1050 in February 2018. We took the Eurostar to Ashford, stayed overnight with my cousins in Margate (see Owen Forrest on his UA-cam channel « Motor Addicts ») and drove back to France on the early ferry the next morning. We’d set ourselves the « top down challenge » we drove all the way back to Valence with the top down, and yes, we had rain, sun and even snow! Equipped with ski suits and chapkas - no problem at all 😂😂😂. I filmed everything with the intention of posting it on UA-cam, but have never got around to it.
Love it, I really wanted one in this Neo 'BRG' Green on tan leather spec when I was looking for an MX5 but I ended up with a very early UK Spec model in Mariner Blue (imo an even nicer colour)
I miss my Eunos so much. 1991 S Special in Crystal with very rare JDM Rays Engineering forged wheels. (I still have the wheels!) Aside from being fantastic to drive, it has the best heater of any car I have ever been in. The roof was always down unless it was pouring down. I blew the vLSD and replaced it with a Kaaz diff and went sideways pretty much every journey hence forth 😂 I think I'll get a tidyish mk2 VVT sport soon to tidy up and keep forever. My old Eunos a lanes rally car somewhere now
they do drive excellent, we had a mk1 1997 same colour as that but a normal UK one, so it was of course very rusty underneath, suspension arms were terrible, and it needed welding to the sills at every MOT until it got really annoying so we decided to get rid. The UK version we had was the 1.8, no power steering, no elec windows, no anything other than a revvy engine and super handling, we had a new roof put on, I added power steering off a Eunos [easy to do], the power steering was an awesome addition and it didnt take away the feel on the twisties either. Would have another but it would have to be the much later type, the one that had twin exhausts as standard [not sure of the year].
Great to see your a Eunos owner like myself. Just wish to point out your roll bar is only a mod upgrade not a Anti-rollbar so don't put your trust in it. You'll probably find it's anchor points aren't fixed to main structure of car. So as we say in mx5 club " Top down Foot down" you need to join MX 5 members club for some discounts highly recommend it. Roll on warmer days when you will truly enjoy this one.
Of course you know about Google Translate being able to translate any language on the fly with a cellphone camera on Android phones? Thinking of the badges under the hood if you're curious! Fun car for those who fits! :)
Eunos was a premium Mazda brand similar to what Toyota did with Lexus. These were available in Australia and also an MX-5 in that BR green with tan leather. I think they called it Classic or something.
Welcome to the ‘club’ Matt. It was only a matter of time before you caved. I’ll be sure to flash you from my black NA if I see you out and about locally. Let’s hope Mrs Furious allows you to drive ‘her’ car! 😀
I noticed you mentioned an MX5 in one of your recent Volvo reviews, but little did I know you were planning to get one of these fancy rare JDM special editions!
The eunos is a great little car , the ac is not v-spec specific as i have a 1.6 auto with this and electric windows i would try to polish the rear window as they are sawn into the roof and check roof drains are clear as what causes sills to rot , but good luck
A very good car the Eunos/MX 5 and how easy was it to change the two brake calipers on the rear and no major rust also comes with the approval of Mrs Furious
@@furiousdrivinghi there yes you should get that done with glass as I have seen it done on UA-cam but can’t remember the channel.your lucky to get that car, good luck to you🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
If you're looking for coilovers, the Meister-R CRD or the BC Racing ones are both great options. The meisters were brilliant on my Mk2.5. Now sold for a 987 Boxster S, don't have the space otherwise I'd have kept the MX-5 as well Great cars
I wish Mrs Scottish Car Enthusiast would approve of my latest financial mistake 😂😂 its known as the heap of junk by her and the kids! Through she claims the seats are comfy compared to her Fabia! Nice to Meet Mrs Furious, i can guarantee you will never see the keys to the Mazda. I really like these little cars and approve of this, another car to add to my dream driveway.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I hope this didn't set Matt back too much, these NAs -- definitely not an MX5 -- are getting very collectable. Love the Nardi(?) wooden steering wheel! It might be worth getting a wooden gearknob to match in place of the freezing cold metal one!
My mrs got me a 2.5 for my 40th talk about a midlife crisis 😂 its only the 1.6 i absolutely love it!.. i drive for a living and get sick of it but always get the urge to drive the " maz" safer than a motorbike thats what i always wanted originally
@nakoma5 I had the mk 1 unos myself in 2011 when they where cheap that was a 1.8 but the previous owner chopped the suspension and ruined it in my opinion I Don't recall their being much difference if any in performance?.. I love this one and dose shift whem you put your foot down and I'm on my own. Not saying the Mrs is fat or anything 🤔 🤣
Holding a steady value but thankfully hasn't suffered from the looney overvaluation of other 90s JDM sports cars What a great deal! Don't know if they ship to UK but Moss Miata is America's go to for everything upgrade and aftermarket. They have a large catalog of options to make it just to your tastes.
No tea shelf! Oh my! But really who cares! The best color/interior combination! I drove one once brand new, USA, 1990 Unfortunately as an Alfa Romeo fan boy, i bought a Spider Veloce. Im sure the Mazda would be the best as a fun, RELIABLE, weekend driver. Great value and video.
would like 1, but probably NOT ULEZ free, as I am just inside the boundary extension 😡I did notice the woodwork before you mentioned it, that's going to help a little 👍
Your very very happy, I'm very very jealous but saying that what a great find, you just need the MOT, under rust treatment, I think you can get glass for the rear screen instead of plastic but don't quote me on that, and a good old polish and buff.
That handbrake lever still looks really high. Did you wind back in the adjuster until the brakes stopped turning and then wind it back 1/8 of a turn? There is also an adjuster for the handbrake lever itself if you lift the small bit of carpet next to it. There's a shaft with a thread that you can wind the adjuster in/out using a large flatblade or a suitably sized socket. That brings the amount of 'clicks' needed to a more suitable level. It may also have stretched cables but they are quite easy to change on the Mk1
Matt, you have bothered best small sports car going..I had a mk 3 NC1 1.8 option pack and absolutely loved it but unfortunately had to sell it after 3 years . Happy MX-5 ing , Miataring..sorry Eunos ing . I now run a 2015 Mazda 2 1.5 Skyactive G Sport Nav 115bhp..Still a great car £ 30 road tax 50+mpg

Delighted to see you getting out of the rain/snow. Built the same myself except my one is at the side of the house and no decent floor, only mud this time of year 😢 throw a tarp on the end or it will be like a wind tunnel 😂 how do I know that 🫢
Good luck with the mazda
Another cracking video Matt. That the wife like it is a massive boon. Working on the car as well right after you got it demonstrated your enthusiasm a treat. Fingers crossed for the MOT.
I adore my 1990 Eunos V Spec. I think it’s pretty much the same spec as yours. It really is a masterpiece, I hope you enjoy this car and hold on to it until next spring, summer. Nothing comes close to it on a country road on a sunny summer’s day. Really looking forward to your videos on this wonderful little car!
Well done Matt and so good to see a MX5 on the channel! I have never driven one but I had the mx5 MZR engine in a Mazda 3 5 door and it was a real hoot to drive it was one car I regret selling
They are amazing cars so much fun and still look great all these years later
My friends dad had a 1991 limited edition same colour combination as that and was a fabulous car loved driving in it with him he’s now got a mk3
Looking forward to seeing this come back to life and to be a member of the furious fleet!
Was a pleasure assisting you on the collection caper!
Hi lol u won't have it long
Just a heads up, the 'roll over hoop' will act as more of a mousetrap in a rollover situation.
Another great sports car, maybe not for snow, or lots of fun?
Dangerously true-I’ve already been browsing options and upgrades
God Bless JDM.
Ps. The Absolute Best Mustard Furious Driving hat Modelling bar none.
Well done Mrs Furious.
Don't let him near that Eunos when the Sun Returns.
From MINI Convertible experience across the Irish Sea, that means first week of March get the roof down.
Most importantly, ENJOY.
Who's Da Boss????
Ps. The 1.6 is the best.
Good Health to enjoy her.
Mrs furious reaction to a decent car was priceless. As soon as the sun reappears, she will be off in it 😂
And topless, the car, not her.
Being a Mazzy 2 owner....I can only applaud. Strong engines and sweet boxes!
I forgot the Zoom Zoom! ;)
I did think that as soon as I saw the beige leather interior
@@furiousdriving Do you remember the red MX5 NA that were used in the full scale version of the Ridge Racer arcade game?
The Namco centre in Meadowhall near Sheffield had one and I think possibly Blackpool pleasure beach. They were so cool.
@@markonmotoring yes, I think I saw one in London the Trocadero?) one of those would be great for the barm!
Hi! I’ve got a mk2 1.8 VS JDM and a mk4 2.0 sport nav for my daily. Used to have a mk1 S limited. Well done for buying this - lovely stuff! LSD and manual on an mx5 are so good to drive!
Couple of things:
1 - it should have a wooden nardi gearbox knob to go with the handbrake and steering wheel
2 - the wooden dashboard is something that was probably put on it in the late 90s. Not original
3 - i’ll be amazed if its the original hood. Most likely an aftermarket one at this age - the plastic rear screen lasts 10 years max
4 - get it undersealed as soon as you weld it. As a mk2 owner, trust me haha
V spec is blooming lovely.
You name it, they do it.
funnily enough I was just browsing their site!
4 years ago my wife bought a Toyota 86. I thought I'd be driving it in a month. It's a good job I like my Citroën C5!
A rare occasion when everything comes into line! Looking forward to driving this one a lot, I’d forgotten you had a Euros too!
@@furiousdriving yes definitely a plus. We had a 91 it was awesome and Mrs S loved that to. I really shouldn’t have sold it.
What a great time to buy a rag-top!! It was so cold today (Dec2) that the frost stayed on the ground all day!! 😄 Enjoy the car, anyone who's played a Gran Turismo knows the Eunos name!!👊👍🏻
Nice to meet Mrs Furious. A lady at work has a very tidy white mk 1 MX5, although think its a Japanese import so would that make it an Eunos?
Yes, same as this - Miata in the US and Eunos in Japan
I like that. Because pop-ups, of course. Great colour and interior combo and some nice extras.
Lovely to see Mrs Furious, too, welcome to the channel.
If you really don’t want them I’d be very happy to take them off your hands (seriously !)
I can’t believe you haven’t dropped the top yet!
(I still have the wheels!)
Aside from being fantastic to drive, it has the best heater of any car I have ever been in.
The roof was always down unless it was pouring down.
I blew the vLSD and replaced it with a Kaaz diff and went sideways pretty much every journey hence forth 😂
I think I'll get a tidyish mk2 VVT sport soon to tidy up and keep forever.
A little odd sock at the bottom of your drawer, will fit on the gear knob lovely and it'll keep your hands warm
2 problems fixed!
Great video! I would adjust the handbrake too as it seems a bit too high when engaged
Welcome to the ‘club’ Matt. It was only a matter of time before you caved.
I’ll be sure to flash you from my black NA if I see you out and about locally.
Let’s hope Mrs Furious allows you to drive ‘her’ car! 😀
I’ll keep an eye out for you!
Good luck to you, make sure you look after that beauty, and get that rear plastic screen changed to glass instead🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
I didn’t know that was an option, much better
@@furiousdrivinghi there yes you should get that done with glass as I have seen it done on UA-cam but can’t remember the channel.your lucky to get that car, good luck to you🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Finally a car that isn’t a boring broken down Rover.
They were branded as Eunos and not Mazda. Brand = Eunos, Model = Roadster. Kind of like the Lexus and Toyota thing.
Mrs Furiousdriving debut on the channel. Bravo.
Welcome to the Eunos club matt . I have G plate red 1 . Ive just done the breaks on mine EBC all round now . Happy driving
Good choice, Ive have them on the Rover Coupe!
ps - yes the Eunos had the 3rd brake light in the boot as mine has. UK cars didn't till the mk 2 cars
I thought that was it, thanks
Nice to meet Mrs Furious.
Matt!! I cannot believe you got one before me!! So jealous, but happy for you. I shall have to pop over and take a look 😁
You snooze you lose! You should have bought one ages ago!
If you're looking for coilovers, the Meister-R CRD or the BC Racing ones are both great options. The meisters were brilliant on my Mk2.5. Now sold for a 987 Boxster S, don't have the space otherwise I'd have kept the MX-5 as well
Great cars
I wish Mrs Scottish Car Enthusiast would approve of my latest financial mistake 😂😂 its known as the heap of junk by her and the kids! Through she claims the seats are comfy compared to her Fabia! Nice to Meet Mrs Furious, i can guarantee you will never see the keys to the Mazda.
I really like these little cars and approve of this, another car to add to my dream driveway.
This is a rare occasion when I get approval on a new car! Im sure I wont get used to it...
Wow! Wow! Wow! I hope this didn't set Matt back too much, these NAs -- definitely not an MX5 -- are getting very collectable. Love the Nardi(?) wooden steering wheel! It might be worth getting a wooden gearknob to match in place of the freezing cold metal one!
yes it is a Nardi wheel, feels like a classic Italian sports car! It should have had a wooden gear knob to match
My mrs got me a 2.5 for my 40th talk about a midlife crisis 😂 its only the 1.6 i absolutely love it!.. i drive for a living and get sick of it but always get the urge to drive the " maz" safer than a motorbike thats what i always wanted originally
Some prefer the 1.6 over the 1.8 because they say it's revvier and sounds a little better.
The 3.0ltr V6 Jag engine will fit in the engine bay nicely !
Nice find Matt, I don't know how you keep on top of all the cars though.
Glad I’m not the only one. First frost of the year and I went out to buy a mg tf. Cracking motor
Im all over the internet looking for bits now!
@@furiousdriving Moss do sell to the UK, their site is MossEurope, I would recommend them for MX5 bits
That interior -exterior color combination is dream spec, well done!
Great value and video.
would like 1, but probably NOT ULEZ free, as I am just inside the boundary extension 😡I did notice the woodwork before you mentioned it, that's going to help a little 👍
Almost certainly not ULEZ, Ive not looked but pre 2004 so very unlikely sadly
Now is the best time to buy a convertible project. Get it all fixed up in time for the spring sunshine!
I did do the turns, possibly stretched cables now but still bites hard
Mrs Furious does exist!
No welding, there must be something!
Excellent! It is the perfect colour combination! I can't wait for the inevitable deep clean and polish to see how it comes up
I think it’ll scrub up amazingly!
They are incredible, so good yeet so small!
They are a great car. Good to finally see more FD, need her view point on the cars more often.
Aww…nice to see Mrs Furious…she seemed impressed, that’s a bonus😃👍
Congratulations dude… one of the best cars ever made!! Keep this one…
Thanks, Im so excited with this one, and yes planning on keeping it a good long time!
Excellent Matt really nice example
That needs a set of original daisies on it.
