Akira Yamaoka's melancholic masterpiece from one of the best horror games of all time! I know it's very similar to the original but I just couldn't find a reason to change anything, instrumentation and arrangement is just so awesome in the original. Would've been nice with an actual acoustic guitar but I don't own a condenser microphone =( Anyways hope you guys like it, make sure to comment and subscribe!
Audio and video are recorded separately. My audio recording setup:
Ibanez LTD EC-50, Ibanez RG420EG or LTD EX-50 (into)

Absolutely one of the best survival-horror games ever made.
Silent Hill 1 & 2 are the best of the series ! Moreover I always enjoyed the funny hidden endings.
Btw, nice cover as usual !
I loved the heroes del silencio effect
Absolutely beautiful man, couldn't have played it better myself
That was absolutely stunning! You have talent buddy! #SH2 brings back so many memories!
This is such a beautiful cover! Damn, man. I really like it in the lower tone too. You're wicked!
That rhythm guitar style of playing reminds me so much of fall of the leafe past album fermina, and the overall guitar sound. Excellent work!
Well done, beautiful cover.
Suddenly i want to take out my old PS and play SH2 again XD
You sir have talent!
I think that thing in the bottom right corner is time and space splitting because of the awesomeness, maybe?
this cover is amazing!! i really enjoy in it!!
Although I've never heard the original, I seriously enjoy this cover.
Good stuff man, keep it coming!
just...beautyfull
Man, this.. amazing
This song was already an awesome theme song, you just made it 10x better.

Amazing Man !
hey man listen, you are awesome this is from the bottom of my heart this is a beatifull song and a beatifull cover.
I have seen a few of your videos over the previous months, and you always impress me, I think you are up there with the best of them on UA-cam. I'm trying to cover this song myself at the moment, doubt it will come out as nice as yours though.
Very nice! The mix could be different in my opinion, but how you made sound of each instrument is outstanding. GREAT work! Thumb up;)
Awesome!
Yes, it is totally possible. I only used resources from the internet to develop, still do. The key factor is picking up the guitar once a day, to find that drive, to feel motivated. And yeah, motivation can be difficult. But anyway, that's life for ya. I started at 14 and guitar was FUN. Another important factor is to very gradually ramp up difficulty of what you are playing. You need to be realistic, start with really simple stuff. But you also need to slightly challenge yourself to develop.
@iSometimesWriteMusic thanks! great cover btw
This is soo beautiful, it makes me want to learn to play the song. :)
Awesome!!!!
AWESOME
oh fuck...it´s incredible.
wow!
Very Nice !
great cover !! ...thanks for your comments !
Amazing! :0
Thanks! Well, it's a really beautiful song to begin with.
well done, i like it a step down it sounds really good
いつもとは違うバージョンたな。哀愁漂って非常に格好良い❗。
@duffy123123 Time and space splitting, or an effect of the "old film" filter I used ;P Anyways, glad you liked it!
Verry Good Work Man:-)
@OmegaMetroid93 It's very atmospheric and dark, truly a classic!
Amazing
@Rastametalpunkman It's some sort of video filter. "Old timey film with a hair stuck on it"
I did mourn your great work cover
Yep ! (I french, google trad) Im a 15 years old guy and i beggining when i was 10. No i play the guitar very well.
crack! you are the best!
@Psyoletic Thanks man, appreciate it (:
You play in a lower tone than the original, it sounds good
This is why I want to learn to play the guitar. So I can make music like this....
twin? is that you? haha man!!! awesome cover! i did the same song on the same day and both of us tried the same concept on the video!! (old film vibe)
Cheers mate, rock on!
j adore c es super
Awesome man. Another dude im subscribed to named Ferdk16 uploaded his own cover of this song as well, on the same day also. Nice coincidence XD
Im not familiar with the song to be honest with you, but it sounded great man!
Not sure if I understand your question. Anyway, it's a matter of choices. People choose to do covers differently, there is never "THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT!"... I play this 2 steps down compared to the original. Some people may play melodies an octave lower. Maybe create harmonies. Frets depend on string, but surely you know that. Some people maybe like to play the highest strings... some people may prefer some strings lower (=higher frets). Could still be the same melody.
My brother was just playing that on his guitar
I never saved the preset. Anyway it's all about context, mixing, guitar... create your own sound for whatever your recording needs, music is always about context! Just pick a jazz amp and fiddle around with EQ and reverb, it's good practice for your ears (:
good intro
Зачет)
@Wildshadow1991 Do you mean playing over my track then posting on UA-cam or something? Well, I'd rather you not to post it anywhere. But you can download it and play along with it as you wish of course. Keep in mind that my guitars are tuned down 1 whole step, D-tuning that is. So any tabs you might find won't fit, you will have to transpose the fingering 1 step down.
@bboynoe Oh really? What a coincidence! Listening to his right now, it's good, a little bit more distorted and metalized but true to the spirit of the original (:
Loved it!!!!! got tabs? :O
@iSometimesWriteMusic
fo sho
beautiful perfomed, by any chance do you have the guitar tabs?
GREAT COVER!!
Can you tell me any effects you where using? (Guitar, not video)
збс, неплохо
What a constructive comment, thanks!
you is a genie,im sorry for my inglish im for Brazil
Oh I don't know, reverb I guess? I created the sound in Guitar Rig 5, that's all I know.
id love tabs for this!
wow this is nice! how long are u playing guitar ?
awesome , please can you send me drum part ?
Yes I do, 1 whole step lower in fact.
@Rastametalpunkman Oh shit didn't even recognize! Creepy! I guess it's some randomness caused by the "old film" effect which I laid on twice, once on every clip.
かっけぇ
I would also like the tabs for this. Please? :)
tabs please, i just can't figure it out on my own
Thanks a lot man! Don't doubt, do it and learn from it! You are welcome to post your stuff as a video response on my videos, if you want some extra exposure!
Hey my friend!! On the Guitar RIG, what is the PRESET to play this song?
Greetings, this COVER is amazing!
can you send me your preset for guitar rig? Thank you!
can you send me your preset for guitar rig? caaaaaaaaaan you? Thank you!
Hey man, nice job, do you know any sites where I can get online lessons
If you're willing to pay then I would suggest this one artistworks.com/guitar-lessons-paul-gilbert Paul Gilbert is an incredible guitarist and this site has tons of structured lessons from him but also allows you to send him videos of yourself playing or just asking him questions and he will personally respond with suggestions on how to improve and answer your questions.
However, if you don't want to pay then I think UA-cam is a great source. When I started playing I was basically shown a few chords and then learned on my own by reading tabs and watching lessons on UA-cam. Again I would suggest Paul Gilbert for UA-cam lessons, you can find a ton of free ones from his DVD lessons back in the day on here.
Thanks a lot for that reply.
Subbed. Also I am going to see how my cover turns out. If I think it's ok I will upload. Thanks a lot for the offer. I am guessing in about 1 week I shall be finished as I'm busy moving house etc.....
Got tabs??
Great cover!
Is it really possible to learn the guitar from internet tutorials Is it better to have guitar tutor or you can learn it by yourself alotta people I know are self taught guitarists just wanted to ask you this
FUCKIN A man!!!
@alfr83 Never got to try 1 actually, but I really liked 3 as well. It had better mechanics than 2 and felt more like a survival horror game, but the atmosphere wasn't as good. Tried 4 for a couple of hours and it was MEH... sad that we will probably never see another good Silent Hill game. Anyways, thanks!
@ooPETERo I have PM:ed you the tabs (:
No dislikes ! :D
Great cover! please, can you help me? I find drum part of this song. Could you put your party alone? thanks in advance
PS: Sorry for my bad English;)
Thanks! Sorry, no tabs :l
wth is that in the right corner?
a broken string?
and nice video!
standard D tuning? it's ok, but i prefer in E nice work dude.
Don't get me wrong, I love the SH games under Team Silent and Downpour, but bringing back a memorable character would be weakening him.
Anybody can learn to play guitar, pick one up and stick with it! You start to develop quite quickly once the basic coordination has set. Seriously, anybody can learn to play guitar. Do it!
Great! But it seems to me that one string is lost.
U r a professional. Is not it?
Well, that's you. Not everyone thinks so. There is no point in EXACTLY recreating the original. It's called a cover... If a change in key is annoying to you, then I suggest you stay away from covers and only listen to the original. Your holier than thou attitude is what's annoying. It's my cover, not yours.
