2019 - The Freight Hoppers Perform, "Elzic's Farewell"

The fabulous Freight Hoppers, an old time string band, performed at a house concert in RIo Rancho, NM on September 11, 2019.
They certainly knew how to energize the audience with their upbeat music. Elzic's Farewell doesn't sound any better than this!
The band's lineup includes original fiddler David Bass, original banjo player/vocalist Frank Lee, guitar player/vocalist Allie Lee, and bassist Amanda Kowalski.

Good musicianship but French Carpenter and especially Wilson Douglas generally played it much slower and moanful. After it was originally played for a fiddler's dying mother. Almost a funeral dirge.

Save the "funeral dirge" for Aaron Bushnell. We perservere and honor our folk music and what it represents. Liberty and justice.
