DISCLAIMER!! I PUT THE FRONT DRIVESHAFT ON BACKWARDS. Make sure sure rubber boot is towards the front!!
We assembly the prop shaft or drive shaft. Go over the parts in the shaft. Plus installation.
Hardy Spicer or Dana Spicer for parts and U joints.
Denny’s Driveshafts in the USA for Spicer parts.

Thanks Cory, I’m restoring a Series 3 and I thought the cork joint ans the spacer were correct. Your vidéo shows me I was wrong. Cheers from France.
Thank you Sir! If the spacer and cork you have fit than it’ll work. Some parts might have different packaging but are the same parts. Did you test fit everything on your driveshafts?

Another great video! I learned the hard way about the importance of marking parts as you dismantle things. Too easy to rush in and then find out you got problems later, and what you REALY need to see is just off frame in your photos :-)
Thank you Sir!! I didn’t think about it until I was pressing the U joints out. My friend said “you better mark those”. I was like “oh crap right!!” What do you want to see off frame? I got lots of junk laying around. Ha ha!!
Hi - a very enjoyable series my friend - i think the front shaft should be the other way around with the gator at the front near axle...great series and keep them coming...

Hi Cory! Great education about buying parts for the drive shafts through drive shaft component suppliers rather than Land Rover aftermarket suppliers. Save a little money that way! I know that Dana also made the axles too! I like the Universal U-Joint comment!
Thank you Sir!! That’s right! If I would’ve known more about Spicer and the prop shaft components I would order from anywhere that sells the parts. What comment do you mean? I looked back and noticed I left a big blank spot while I was talking. Not the greatest at editing videos. Ha ha!!
@@conrad1468 Yea I saw the blank spot and was wondering what was going on. It must be difficult to come up with commentary. Do you do video it in one take or do you do a lot of editing? Do you write a script? I want to begin my own videos too.
I usually edit out those mistakes. I try to do it all in one take. Sometimes I get interrupted or completely lose my train of thought. Ha ha!! Like the blank spots. I say throw some videos together post them up. I keep it simple and not fancy. Kind of like “only the facts Ma’am” ha ha!! You can see when I realize I messed up and split in a different video or I miss something. I really only want to share my experiences and what I learn along the way to help others. I’m no professional!!!
Also a lot of videos are splices together from multiple days. So I have to look back hear what I said. That’s why sometimes I repeat myself because it’s been 3 or so days since I started a video of repairs. A 15 minute video is 4 days with of work. Ok I’m babbling on!! I hope to see some of your videos!!

Yes GKN bought Hardy-Spicer , GKN make a lot of transmission parts , Also made most of the modern Landrover Chassis from Defender on.
I did read GKN bought Spicer. I didn’t know about the rest. Interesting...
Hi Cory, another good, informative video. Just one thing, I think you may have installed the front prop-shaft the wrong way round. The manual & parts book show it with the sliding joint adjacent to the axle housing. I’m not sure how important that is, or whether it’s necessary, it’s just that every picture I’ve seen shows it that way. Conversely, the rear prop-shaft is installed with the slip joint adjacent to the transfer case. Go figure. Regards, Mark.

@@conrad1468 Cory, I did the exact same thing when I put my series 3 back together, I think it was my brother in law who pointed out my mistake. I think it was because the clips on the rubber slip joint cover were really close to the cross member, he thought it didn’t look right and he was quite correct.
It does get close to the Crossmember. Makes sense. I should’ve looked at the manual.
