Great video on the Sheldall Schoolhouse! There are a couple of inaccuracies in the film. The school was built in 1860. Two terms of school were taught in 1859-1860. However, these two terms were held in the homes of Mr. Biggs and Mr. Woodworth, while the schoolhouse was being built. There were several female teachers at the Sheldall Schoolhouse. 13 of the 30 teachers were female.
I remember seeing these during schooltime when our second grade teacher would take our class down to the multipurpose room stage and tune it in. I seem to remember Herb Hake presenting a story about the CARDIFF GIANT. Will that one ever be posted? I hope so.
May I ask to see more episodes of TV Schooltime's Landmarks In Iowa History? I really enjoy Herb Hake's history lessons in these programs. I wonder if he did a program on Monona County? And I would like to see the episode on the Froelich Tractor.
We actually do have a program that Herb Hake did on the first gas powered tractor invented by John Froelich. I will try to put that one up shortly. Unfortunately, I did not see a program on Monona County.
Please let me know when you post the Froelich TV Schooltime Episode. Anxious to watch that episode over coffee sometime before I devote my time to working in the field in the upcoming season.

Thank you for that update. I'm sure Herb would have appreciated it, too!
