- One woman is dead and 3 others wounded following a shootout between neighbors on Indy's near northwest side. Cell phone video shared by a neighbor clearly shows a man standing at his front door firing the first shot into a crowd of people next door.
dude had serious anger issues, and it got His family member killed..... what a senseless waste of life.

I had them shooting off two days before, on the fourth, and two days after. They went until 2AM on the 4th. Some people are just disrespectul and ruin it for everyone else. They also leave the trash on the street afterwards. It gets more out of control every year. We have a selfishness problem with these younger generations. Yeah, Lansing is bad...the fireworks ordinance is June 29 - July 5, 11:30 am - 11:30 pm......then there's the the people who can't contain themselves for a week before and a week after the ordinance times. I have called the police at least 3 times to report fireworks activity beyond the scheduled timea but not much happens. Meanwhile my cats & dog have to cope.

Every year my neighbors shoot show sized mortars into the sky above MY house. Twice they have started trees and brush on fire and simply went inside their home not even bothering to let us know! Every 4th we spend wetting down our roof and yards while they drink and shoot off ordinance you might expect to see on a cruise ship! We line up pet carriers and load important documents into totes for quick removal.

I had a similar thing happen to us. We owned an empty large lot across the street, from our home we complied with all city ordinances and started a fireworks show over there, but a drunk neighbor went ballistic, on us and called the police, they came, saw we were sober and within the law, he went ballistic, threatened me and my kids. I couldn't believe he was threatening a guy holding a torch and having my gun strapped on, I just laughed at him.

The only fireworks stand anywhere near me didn't open this fourth of July. Nice and quiet. The disrespectful Mexican neighbors around me always left a mess in the street. The Julio's get drunk and out comes the guns while blasting their Mexican music at 500 decibels. I've regained control since one them said for me to call the cops and I looked him in the eyes and told him I don't call the cops because I can handle it myself. And I did.
Guns make for a more polite society, well, except in this one isolated case.
The problem is not the gun, its the person holding the gun, cmon man he could have easily got in his car and ran them over, would you say the same thing about the car?

Most vets have PTSD from action and fireworks remind them of the battles they've been in. Take the fireworks out of town and be considerate of your neighbors and local vets.

It's not just vets mate. I have sensitive hearing and I also lived in a not so nice neighborhood for most of my life. While fireworks don't sound like guns, they are similar enough that it takes a couple of seconds for your brain to realize that its not.
