100% I think like you I have 2 shops I do deal with one is local and the other one is about 250 miles away but he is always giving to me the best price anyone can give local one is giving me good price as well I never argue or challenge with them because I know they are honest they do not like to rip off the customers that’s why they are still in business
That's great to hear! It's always a relief to find shops that prioritize honesty and fair pricing. It sounds like you've got a good thing going with both of these shops!
Nice points when you live in places where there is a dive shop close by .. where I live it's a minimum 2.5 hrs just to get your tanks filled . My dive shop where I go is 525 kms away so for the little accessories yes it's Amazon
We're not against Amazon. Many of our gear purchases come from Retail Dive Centers who put their products online. All we were simply saying is that we recommend when making those purchases look for businesses that are authorized resellers of the manufacturer. Otherwise, if a warranty/defect issue were to arise the manufacturer wouldn't cover it from someone who isn't authorized to sell their products. Plan Your Dive and Dive Your Plan, Blake
I have three shops that are 30-45 minutes from me, two of them constantly tried to push the absolute most expensive stuff they carried on me when I was shopping around (top end Garmin computers and atomic reg sets) after I first got my OW. I haven't been back, and won't go back to either of them. The other one I visited for the first time and was blown away by the folks working there, so much so that when my wife and I are ready for new computers we're going there, maybe taking our next class through them as well. I have also shopped with divers supply (online and at the Marietta and Macon shops) because of the good service we get when we stop in on our way down to Florida for dive trips.
I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with two of those shops but on the flip side, I'm very happy you found one that treats you well. Not all dive shops are created equal. The folks at Divers Supply are pretty awesome! I see them at least once or twice a year and it's always good to catch up and talk about diving with them. Let me know if you ever swing by Tampa. Happy Dives, Blake
I just spent 430$ for one snorkel, one fins, one feeties, and one mask at my dive shop. Amazon=35$. Dive shops are rip offs. Mom and pop shops are all ripoffs...this dude talking about porch pirates as an excuse
Let us know down below 👇. What are your experiences buying scuba gear with the different marketplaces?

@@nitromoose can’t wait to see you!
my go to is my local dive shop because i want them to stay in business so that i continue to have a local dive shop
It's important to support them but not blindly. As long as they provide you with great customer service!
DGX and Divers Supply are great. Piranha Dive Mfg is terrible.
Thank you for sharing your feedback! It's valuable to hear about other divers' experiences with different suppliers. I appreciate your input!
Broke down like a fraction!!!!!!
