6:53 It is interesting to mention that Japan wanted to expand through Manchuria, but clashed with the Mongolian-Soviet army in the Battle of Khalkhin Gol, which lasted from May to September 1939, in which Japan lost. One of the reasons why Japan did not want to participate in Operation Barbarossa in 1941 (while Germany and its allies attack from the west, Japan and Manchuria attack from the east). In the end, the Soviet Union defeats Japan in August and September 1945 (certainly in Manchuria and China). By all means, good video.

This is a great video that can help explain the (over)-simplified version of China’s pre-modern history; as well as awareness to a lot of things (invasions/colonialisms) that China has endured that made them the way they are now.
One thing I’d like to add is the “Twenty One Demands” given by the Japanese to China, which were kinda aggressive/unequal and increased more sentiments against the Japanese. This piece of history is almost never mentioned as well but is still important to know.

Five thousand years ago, we, like the ancient Egyptians, faced the invasion of floods. We believed that man could conquer nature and chose Dayu to control the floods.
Four thousand years ago, we, like the ancient Babylonians, wrote legal codes and history, but we smelted bronze spears.
Three thousand years ago, we, like the ancient Greeks, contemplated philosophy - various schools of thought, but we had Emperor Qin Shi Huang who unified the track width of carts and the script.
Two thousand years ago, we, like the Romans, expanded territory and opened up the Eurasian continent - but we drove the nomadic people to the Langjuxu Mountain and Lake Baikal.
One thousand years ago, we, like the Arabs, had a brilliant culture and a prosperous economy, jointly managing the Silk Road.
Now we are facing the containment of the Anglo-Saxons! However, 70 years ago we declared: "How long will the war last? We think we should not make the decision. In the past, it was Truman, and later it was Eisenhower, or any future president of the United States. Let them make the decision. They decide how long they want to fight, and we will fight until we achieve complete victory."
The sun rises and sets. For five thousand years, we have always been at the gaming table, while our opponents have changed several rounds!

i belive you too be too generous about russia's mordren standing in geopolitics, thier economy (while "kinda" lage), is growing very little, and in relativt terms really small and declining compared to the soviets.
Russia right now geopoliticaly functions more as a dependant regime of China, they "hate eachother" only in a vague meaning of having differing political goals of the current leadership. where both are power hungry institutions, 1. on the decline and clinging to power, the other on the rise and beliving stalling thier opponent (the west/america mostly) alongside russia is thier best option.
Russia did "try" to flex on the west, but the reason russian gas was "important" for europe was a policy of trying to intergrate them into europe(mostly by germany too avoid nuclear energy, and autria too fuel thier banking sector), the modren west was only as depentant on russia as it allowed itself to be since the 1990's in hope of "assimilating" russia's political regime.
While the history is fun, the context is only usefull from the 1940's onward as anyone before that is outdated to the point of irrelevance beside explaining the border and why china's political regime looks down apon the west, which incldues russia to a large degree (they have the same kind of "trust" with hungary, italy, serbia & pakistan) where they are as friendly as long as it helps themselves to futher political goals. the same as the west did after the fall of the soviets.

No Chinese lived in Manchuria before the 19th century. the population of Manchuria was only 1 million in mid of the 18th century. Now its 100 million population. Most of them are Chinese immigrants. Manchus are few.
Manchuria was the outside of the Great Wall.

In the Han Dynasty, that is, 2,000 years ago, China established provinces on the Korean Peninsula and incorporated them into its territory. Later, the nomads in the north rose and the north was basically controlled by the nomads. It re-incorporated Manchuria into its territory 500 years ago. Russia is an Eastern European country. I am a Manchu People hope that Russia will leave Manchuria, otherwise a war will break out sooner or later.

Manchu is not an ethnic group originally, it is a multi-ethnic military group members collectively, modern genetic technology can not detect the genetic difference between Manchu and the northern Han. In addition, the rulers of the Qing Dynasty artificially emptied their origin areas, leaving only a few people, which is why the phenomenon you mentioned appeared

The Great Wall was not a border. The Manchus were generals appointed by the Ming Dynasty. It is always a mistake to regard the Great Wall as a border. The role of the Great Wall is to protect important economic facilities from plunder. There are many agricultural populations outside the Great Wall

@@PO.RO.MD.ORT16 I agreed with Greece and Turkey, Romania and Hungary but the other two...
First, Germany and France. While they have a love-hate relationship in history, currently, they don't. They built the EU together with the idea of economic dependency and forgiveness. They forgave each others to look for a brighter future while they tied their economy together so that war will become too costly to fight.
About Iran and the Saudi... are they even love-hate? I think they are purely enemies who, for now, postponed their conflicts. They continuously fought each others in proxy war from the Cold War til now. Only stopped when China came with a proposal but both of them knew that they just postponed the war.
