I was trying to learn the solo by myself, and after watching a ton of videos you're the first person I've come across who's played it right and taught it in an easily understandable way. Thanks :))
Ryan is always like that, comes up with the easiest way to teach a song... I would've given up learning guitar if Ryan Lendt didn't exist, Thank you so much Ryan
Love how you can learn other GD songs just from learning one. Like when you play the riff when they say “And there’s nothing wrong with me”, you can just hear J.A.R and I play it perfectly even if you never tried to learn it before. And that’s just one example. I also learned how to play Welcome to Paradise by playing the “Blitzkrieg Bop” riff backwards lol
Thanks for this. Attempting to work this out by ear and coming here to “check my work” 3:40 in a only the flattened root note as a failure. Pah! I look forward to watching the rest of the video😀 probably only take me a month or 10🤔. Keep up the good work.
SO much to unpack there 👏🏻👏🏻. And, DUDE, your Weird Als at the end were amazing. I've learned a ton of songs from you and somehow today is my first time checking out this one. I guess I'll be wearing this out for the next couple days. Wish my wife luck. Cheers ✌🏻
Late to this one, but thankyou! Great tutorial, great teaching style and perfect attitude - "you can play that if you want, or not". Expect to see this as one of my monthly progress videos on my channel soon!! (currently 10 months in)
How many guitars do you have? And how much have you spent on guitar gear. Just curious cuz I’m tryna get my collection going Love the song and tutorial!
I have 5 electrics and one acoustic. As a music teacher, my guitar purchases are tax write-offs, so that's a big help, and two of them were gifts, and the time span we are talking is about 15 years. So I haven't spent very much money on guitar gear, considering the amount of time. Believe me, i have about 15-20 more on my list... I'm glad you enjoyed that Chris!
Hello Ryan. I found this channel last week. Thanks for many inspirations, especially Pearl Jam songs. Have you ever showed how to play nightcall - Kavinsky/London Grammar?
Hello and welcome Jakub! Thanks for being here - I haven't heard of this nightcall, but I am placing it on the list for you for future consideration :)
every other sunday... except for now my baseball games are on sunday evenings - so a rain out is required. They'll be over in august and we'll be back to our every other sunday thing. Thanks for asking Jaxy :)
RYAN'S FULL-SERVICE COMMENT SECTION( A comment section that may go off-topic)--- I may get a WIFI router from Sprint and pay $40( tax plus fees included) a month for 10 Gigabyte data to upload to UA-cam because my videos degrade by around 20% when I upload to UA-cam by cellular. Maybe WIFI will maintain my video quality when I upload to UA-cam. Could you please discuss any improvements in your uploading such as changing mics, uploading via WIFI, different editing programs, etc. Thanks. I know you use IMovie, but did you hear about LumaFusion, a powerful multi-track video editor for IPads for A ONE -TIME FEE OF ONLY $20!
Well, I've never uploaded via cellular, so I can't talk about that. as for the mic, thank god some kind youtuber called Junior's Guitar Ranch was ragging me about my audio quality back in the early few vids, which prompted me to seek a mic solution better than the ipad mic. As for editing programs, i don't do any editing to speak of, I just turn the camera off, take a breath, and turn it back on.
well sure but they're not very powerful. a power chord is a root and a fifth. the b string goes 3 frets higher than the G string when attempting a not very powerful G string power chord
I did not make a tab for this one Kurt, but I would suggest to you that you make your own, it will help you loads in the learning process to wade your way through that :)

This video has the perfect pace to learn and play along to, and you can do it in 17 minutes. AWESOME!
I wanted to get it done in shorter than the length of the song. alas :)
@@RyanLendt Still though, thanks. There aren't any other good videos on this song.
Haha finally convinced he doesn’t care. This reminds me I was going to ask you to do “Wake me up when September ends”. Great lesson btw 😀

I have a feeling... that you don’t like teaching this. Still awesome!!!!!

Can you make a lesson how to play 30 seconds to Mars the kill please
What an awesome tutorial! I can’t wait to learn this! Do you have as be a Patreon account. I like to pay for tutorials. Thank you!

How do you get that awesome green day sound/tone? Amp settings + pedals?
_Jesus just left Chicago_ headin' to the 'burbs.
I'm considering that an official request
Thanks for this!!!
you're most welcome Harry thanks for the shout :)
It's a good lesson. The chords and all are fine, but I feel explaining the strumming pattern in a bit detail would be very helpful.
Standart tuning?
indeed
Awesome job! Love your vids! Can you please teach Firehouse's When I Look Into Your Eyes including the intro piano part?
hehe. more 'piano lessons from a guy who doens't play the piano'. Thanks for the request oomafan!
Is it only me but like when ever we mess up on something kinda simple on the guitar we always laugh it off because we’re nice people
I mess up all the time. I also laugh all the time.
Thank you!
welcome!

Hey Ryan, thanks for this! What amp are you using for this video?
if it's black and red then it's the line 6, if it's silver then it's the blues jr. - you're welcome :)
Are there g string power chords?
Benny McGehee no
well sure but they're not very powerful. a power chord is a root and a fifth. the b string goes 3 frets higher than the G string when attempting a not very powerful G string power chord
What’s your amp settings for this song?
(insert your favorite distortion here) you do you Amanda!
Is this standard tunning Ryan?
Are you able to leave a reply to my comment with a link to download your tabs the way you play it here??
